After Dj
Gregory, Julien Jabre, Franck Roger and Claude Monnet; Back To Fundamentals
proudly presents an unexpected duo Rumi & Solveig for its fourth release So
Far Away. Definitely another epic stone in the B2F wall! Produced and perfomed
by Martin Solveig for Mixture sterephonic. Vocals by Rachel Claudio, Instruments
& programming by Lorenzo Rumi & Martin Solveig. The chart-buster Martin
Solveig was glad when his roman friend and colleague Lorenzo Rumi called upon
him to return to the roots of house music, starting from the early, glorious Chicago scenario and its
immediate and infectious groove. So Far Away came to life, as an impulse with
only 2 days of hectic studio session and a few liters of coffee (half a day
spent to tune the lazy analog keys that we're finally happy to hear). The guys
worked on a stricltly old school basis, (original instrumental) then added a
full vocal and new elements to bring the fine charme of today's house, turning
so far away in a contemporary composition rich of surprises and thrilling breaks. The
performance of Australian soul singer Rachel Claudio gives a touch of attitude
with passionates and unforgettable vocals. Definitely another epic stone in the
B2F wall!

Haldo
Presents Maceio : New Mondo Julius Papp Remix : Transport Recordings :
12"
Transport
Recordings is proud to present its brand new release, Maceio, courtesy of Italy's hall of famer, Haldo.
Our latest release also includes a collection of uplifting remixes from the
team of Marco Celone and Vincent Kwok, collectively known as New Mondo, as well
as Julius Papp and Misikibo. The release starts with the "New Mondo E-Buzz
Mix", a tour de force for the dance floor, containing perfectly gated
snippets of the original track anchored by a buzzy bassline that demands your
attention! This is punctuated by little guitar stabs as Rhodes and pianos are slowly
introduced, leading up to the soaring lead line from Haldo. This mix is a
guaranteed winner on every dance floor around the world. Italian veteran Miskibo
keeps the party going with his darker and deeper mix. This features snippets of
the original accompanied by deep funky chords and a memorable bass line. With a
breakdown that features some exciting percussion, this is the perfect mix for
your deep floors! Things switch around and takes you on a percussive trip with San Francisco musical director Julius Papp.
Julius' mix brings the piano solo of the original to the fore, accentuated by a
tasty bass line. The soaring leadline makes a welcome return to this version as
Julius highlights it in the breakdown. This version works great as a bridge
between the different moods within your set. And last but certainly not least
is Haldo's disco flava mix which evokes the sounds of the 70s. With a funky bassline,
that soaring leadline and some luscious string backing, this mix delivers an
epic dance floor master piece! Another great release from Transport Recordings,
this is a great package to please all djs!!!

Raw
Elements Recordings : Steve Bug / Vincenzo / Superlova : Raw Elements :
12"
In 1995
Steve Bug had a passion for a sound that simply wasn‘t being represented
elsewhere in Electronic music at the time. As a reaction, he launched the
infamous ‚Raw Elements‘ label which today stands on a pedestal amongst some of
the most revered labels in House Music history. This defiant sound, stripped of
all un-necessaries, had the power and foresight to influence far further than
Bug had ever expected… And now we‘ve gone full circle, with the re-release of
several classics from the Raw Elements back-catalogue. A digital-only
compilation made up of 15 carefully chosen visions will accompany two very
special vinyl releases, as we proudly introduce, ‚Raw Essentials‘! Who better
to open the party but Steve Bug himself, with the robotic swagger of ‚Rhodes Flash‘
which bravely and irresistibly combines a driving, sci-fi warehouse groove with
soft mellowed out Rhodes keyboard chords. Delightfully stripped, yet loaded with subtly
introduced layers, this genre-slicer has the effect not only of rhythmically hypnotising
the listener, but of introducing them into the Raw Elements sound quite
perfectly. Given that Raw Elements had such an edge back then, it’s pleasing to
know that it laid down the foundations for some artists who would go on to be
mainstays in the scene today. Originally included on his ‚Summer Elements‘ EP, Vincenzo‘s
‚Vibrations‘ smoothes things out nicely, with it‘s lazy rolling-swing and
undeniable summer-time positivity. This is a magical journey of a track,
unashamedly influenced by New York House and jazz formations, but comes across
ever-so relevant today, particularly during the tingling breakdown, where Vincenzo
strips the track down to its bare essentials and then gloriously re-introduces
the kick. Watch out for this one in the late mornings…! It‘s also with a
certain sense of pride that we remind you that this track was part of his first
ever solo EP, released on Raw Elements in 1997! ‚

Lovebirds
: Love On My Hands : Winding Road : 12"
Winding
Road have always seem to have an ace up their sleeve. This release provides yet
another ace moment in their hot catalogue. Whether you’re a house head, disco
head, or tech head, this release will move your dancefloor and make you smile.
The Original Club Mix is a sophisticated slice of electronic disco, with a big
vocal singing some heavily sleazy words. For the tech-heads, two underground
dubs provide the dirt. The Dubfuck mix is an adrenaline-fuelled underground smasher
- big with Prins Thomas, Funk D’Void and Laurent Garnier. The Love On Dub takes
a smoother approach, following the same path as the original mix, but with the
vocals cut away so that the music takes centre stage.

& Duriez : This Is Not A Follow Up (Peace Division Remix) : Gourmet :
12"
Well
what is there to say…? the two original packages of “this is not a follow-up”
are being played by everyone under the sun. both the previous gourmet and the brique
rouge releases pack a serious punch with remixes from main room heavy weights
like mason, silicone soul and tommy four seven. it came to our attention by one
mr. clive henry that it would be nice to have some deep remixes released. i
hastily responded asking clive and his wonderful studio partner justin drake to
do us up some lovely peace division renditions. the result is what you have
before you now. here’s the obligatory “what they’ve been up to” pitch…. fresh
off their immaculately produced “soft heavy ep” for crosstown rebels and their
wicked “community” remixes for nrk the peace division gents have turned their
considerable talents towards three brilliant reworks of “this is not a
follow-up”. the vibe is thick throughout these mid-tempo work-outs and minimal
fans of their latest work will not be disappointed. i really love the piano and
organ stabs they use bringing timelessness to this very contemporary sound. this
is pure peace division; subtle and deep yet powerful on the dance floor. sink

Pardon
Garcon/ French Girls Play Guitar is the third release from London based

Recent remixes for Fischerspooner, Headman, Underworld and Make Model have also
contributed to making autoKratz undoubtedly one of Pardon Garcon is a driving

compulsive beats & bleeps. This is a storming re-edit of the track which
first reared its head on the astonishingly good Kitsune Maison 5 Compilation,
and is certain to be one of the summers essential electro anthems. The other
side is taken up by the machine-like French Girls Play Guitar, a rich melodic stomper
with a massive chorus and industrial echo’s of Kraftwerk. the most exciting new

The Diaphanoids
: What The Fuck Do You Want With This : Bear Funk Gold : 12"
Hello
Earthlings. The Diaphanoids as humans are known as Andrea Bellentani and Simon Maccari.
They did not arrive on your earth in normal circumstances. Whilst time travel
seems like a distant dream on your earth, here on planet diaphanoid time travelling
is a fun way to spend the weekend. We often go back to yesteryear and sometimes
we even go forward to adjust some future discrepancies. But these two took it
too far! They always wanted more and to see if the grass was greener on other
planets! This was against our wishes and way of life so we gave them a choice,
‘Take the time machine to other planets’ but don’t come back as we need not
know how others live. They left us in 5079 and have never been seen since,
legend has it they travelled to your earth and visited 1977-1980, Berlin-Munich-London-Paris-New York. Diaphanoids found a
love for a noise you call music and began to deliver their own unique blend of
spaced-out disco astro rock. Offerings were sent to one Hans Peter Lindstrom in
Oslo and he in turn handed
the secret tapes to Bearfunk’s Stevie Kotey. He was truly mesmerised by there
approach and duly signed them. The rest is history or is it the future ??

Mindforce
is an extra special release we have put together for you. It features an
excellent remix by Kabale und Liebe who is currently causing a big stir amongst
the house community with his deep and dark minimal groovers, needless to
mention his big hit „Mumbling Yeah“ that was in the charts of almost every DJ
and became one of the key tracks last year. Also his upcoming productions on
the dutch „Remote Area“ label are amongst our favourite tracks so we couldn’t
resist to ask this guy to do an interpretation of a special track we made. Mindforce
is a bit different to the rest of the Dirt Crew output, we wanted to make a
more reduced grooving DJ tool that is still Old School but on the other hand
contains an hypnotic feel that is more likely to be found in current minimal
productions

LEENA05
Dan Curtin
: Pull Up : Leena : 12"
For the
fifth release on mobilee’s sister label LEENA, we welcome a special guest, Dan
Curtin. With a career stretching back over 16 years, Dan is no stranger to
electronic music’s A-list, withdozens of releases on labels like Strictly
Rhythm, Peacefrog, Tuning Spork and of course his own Metamorphic Recordings.
Since 2003, Dan has lived in Berlin, but his long history holding it down in
Cleveland, Ohio has helped him to carve out a sound unlike any other, informed
by nearby Detroit and Chicago as well as reaching out simultaneously to Europe
and Japan. Dan’s releases are nothing if not special—infectiously polyrhythmic,
uncommonly deep—and his LEENA debut is no exception. “Pull Up” is everything
modern dance music should be. Riding the line between house and techno, it
offsets jittery drum machines with liquid syncopations; a stumbling bass line
and insistent clave patterns lay out an irresistible groove while a weird, quicksilvery
melody rolls atop it all like a mercury marble. As if the command to dance
weren’t clear enough, the occasional shout of “Pull up!” tells you what to do,
with authority and joy. “Glance” harnesses a similar palette of raw drum
machines and analog squeal, but it’s at once deeper and freakier, driven by a
coolly pumping chord progression and torn asunder again and again by blasts of
white noise, head-over-heels snare rolls and atonal synthesizer explosions.
That’s a lot of information to process, but Dan folds it all together into a
form that’s as lithe and compact as it is extroverted. Your ears—and your
feet—will agree.

Marc
Antona : Warehouse Espitio EP : Micro-Fibres : 12"
Warehouse
Espitio Ep strong support from Dubfire, Monika Kruse, Danton Eeprom, Kiki, Tim
Xavier, Todd Bodine, Ferlin.. big one ! Micro-fibres celebrate their fourth
release with another Marc Antona production that captures his imagination like
never before. The first track of the package Warehouse 17 is a track with a
backbone, its pulse and momentum waking all your senses. Snare drums and
hissing create an intensity and propel the record through its breakdowns and
peaks. Completing the EP is Espirito (a co-production with Antona and Anthony
Collins). This is a rhythmic and buoyant record that swells and suspends. The bassline
bounds in a distinctive, driving groove and delivers a track that promises to
get our full attention. The ‘Warehouse Espirito’ EP is an essential package
that proves the production skills of Marc Antona are reaching new levels with
each release and opens a new perspective to his sound.

Anja
Schneider : Mole (Pan-Pot Remix) : Mobilee : 12"
What
lies beyond the valley? Lean close and lend an ear, because Anja Schneider is
going to show you… Here comes the teaser release of Anja Schneider´s upcoming
album “Beyond The Valley” in May 2008. The last year has been an eventful one
for Anja. Her label mobilee cruised into its third year with a string of
records that regularly shot to the top of the charts-and the front of the
crates-of the world’s best DJs. As “minimal” gave way to a warmer, suppler
sound, mobilee was at the forefront of the shift, with a sound at once dark and
sensual, moody and uplifting. Touring ceaselessly, Anja traveled the globe,
bringing the mobilee vibe to clubbers around the world, and soaking up inspiration
for new music everywhere she set down. Now she invites us to travel with her to
an unfamiliar setting Beyond the Valley. Co-produced with Paul Brtschitsch,
with whom she collaborated on the stunning single “Loop de Mer"/"Belize,” Beyond the Valley is more
than a collection of tracks. It’s a rich, nuanced statement from an artist
ready to open up a new world for listeners. It’s the sound of the musician
stepping up her game. Anja brings that pagan spirit to life in 10 inky, supple
cuts on her album. The lead single “Mole” (backed with a remix from Pan-Pot)
sets the tone with tribal drums and snaky reverb trails. Guiros croak like
frogs, and flashes of melody dart away like salamanders. Watch out for ANJA
SCHNEIDER´S debut album “Beyond The Valley” coming out on mobilee in may 2008.

CONTEXTERRIOR20
Jeff
Samuel : Lack Of Wooda : Contexterrior : 12"
Jeff samuel
is a name that all of you will know, after years of quality releases on more
labels than you can shake a stick at, including pokerflat, trapez, 7th city, morris
audio, frankie, and of course, right here on contexterrior. now the american is
back to us once again after a long long gap. in that time many things in the
world have changed, so many that we can barely list them all. most notably,
there are several new flavours of ice cream, and videogames are starting to
look a little better. unfortunately bush is still president. yep, time to crack
open that ice cream. still we can promise you that enjoying jeff samuel's
tracks is something you never forget how to do. in fact, for many of you this ep
will be just like putting on an old pair of trousers, or riding a bike. so get
your helmet on and belt up for this 3 track ep from the man whose full name is jeff
samuel stern. a:lack of wooda: this groovy track, with a title we can't
explain, kicks things off on the a. with a deep almost rock style bassline and
even some slap bass layered underneath discordant chimes that are just a little
menacing, this one is even a little bit acidic. it may lack wooda but it
doesn't lack any of the elements needed to get clubs going, well, unless you
count the non-musical ones... b1: elastic: this one may stretch your senses a
little (sorry!) with its deep warped bass and funky rhythms. jeff builds an
atmosphere with a sparse and dark intro hinged around that one nagging bassline,
and then perks things up a little bit with more melo dies and drums. in the end
the track becomes a quirky and bouncing floorworker with twists and turns in
all the right places. b2: diff.r (edit): diff.r (edit) is a colder groove than
the other two tracks on this ep. slow burning synth tones fade in and out over
a steady drumbeat and a thinly diced bassline, making this one the deepest cut
on this ep. and that concludes jeff's fine return to contexterrior and a
landmark 20th release which proves that mr stern is not so stern after all, in
fact he can even be fun. keep looking out for contexterrior releases and we
will keep finding music to put on them. until next time....
