Two of

Could it be "Music Sounds Better with You" all over again? Now with a
worldwide exclusive remix of Hardsoul artists Roog & Prom. Two of the
biggest names in clubland team come together for "It's True" the new
single from Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso. Billed as Vs Salem Al Fakir, the
slick slice of electronica has that less-is-more factor and a groove that
refuses to leg you go till your beaten into submission. While some are tipping
it to be another "Music Sounds Better with You", I won't go that far,
but the release via Belgium's Legato label certainly does what you'd expect
from those involved, and more… Bodyrox (UK), "Really feeling this one...

Martin
Solveig : C'Est la Vie (Fedde Le Grand / John Dahlback / Goose Remixes) :
Mixture : 12"
2007 has
been a harsh but yet delightful djing year for Martin Solveig. It has allowed
him to enter the TOP 100 dj mag (#76) for the first time and comforted his rank
among the top international deejays. He's now buried in his studio preparing
what's next and delivers a preview with the smashing "C'est la vie".
Prince and Jackson influences are no surprise from the producer of
"Rocking Music" but you'll also feel something fresh and original
about this track. It sounds like the beginning of a new cycle. The original
club mix is an electro funk track peppered with alternative flavours while the
"Fedde vs Martin" version worked in collaboration with Fedde Legrand
takes us in the middle of the club battle field. The remix package will be
upgraded in the coming weeks by John Dahlbäck, and with a more indie feel by
Goose and by The Bloody Beetroots. After that if you're still sceptical, well...

The

as Joia here charge in off the blocks to pick up a real dancefloor gem. As ever
with a Joia release, there is no expense spared for the remixes, close friend
of the label John Dahlback continues his amazing array of remix work by once
again showing quite simply why he?s one of the best in the business. Deep,
spacey & atmospheric? it?s already been proving a weapon of choice for
those lucky enough to have a CDR before Xmas? On the flip fellow Swede Linus
Eklow makes his label debut in his Style of Eye guise ? respected for his work
across seminal labels such as Derrick Carter?s Classic Music, DoubleDown, Tiny
Sticks, NRK & Pickadoll, Linus delivers a cool synth stripped rework that
builds and builds? just watch those reactions as the bassline kicks in from the

Discover
the new musical phenomenon that everyone is talking about…Emerging artist on
the electro-pop scene, Reead has already won over a number of electronic music
amateurs on the national and international level with his first two albums,
Rewind and Brother. Rewind, an official selection at the 2007 Winter Music
Conference, reached 11th place on the Dutch Buzz Charts last December and
Brother attained 20th place on the UK Coolcut Charts Club. At 26 years old,
Reead is ready to conquer the planet with his third album, Take What You Need.
"Baby" has been launched in collaboration with the clothing brand
"Energie" which dressed Reead for the promotional photo shoot of the
single. With an effective rhythm, this title merges to perfection guitar and
keyboard and will delight especially those nostalgic for the music clubs of the
1980s. It has also been selected by the 2008 Miami Winter Music Conference as
part of its yearly compilation. Signed by the London label Roll Records, Reead continues to
surprise us with a colourful album, tinted with electro, the style that made
him famous, bits of pop-rock, and even acoustics accompanied by piano and
guitar. Reead is the artist to discover on the musical scene and he never stops
surprising us.

Deadly
good stuff here from one of Holland's most prolific producers to watch in 2008! Mr.Baggi
Begovic's new track (co-produced with Simon van Kesteren aka Soul Conspiracy)
is a fresh of breath air within the music scene right now. An enchanting and
instant familiar trumpet sound is underlined with slick house beats aimed at
the dancefloor and the discerning true house lovers. The remixby Dos Palomas
Negras adds a twitchy electro infused feel with punched in synths to the beats,
Skitzofrenix & Franky Rizardo's remix goes in to a complete different
direction emphasizing the beats launching the track into a totally twisted
minimalistic atmosphere. Groovenatics' digital only remixes are infused with
soul, afro beats and a cool slick piano woven into the track. "WHAT A BIG

using some original video games sounds, he wanted to produce some real

in the fact that anyone can enjoy the energy and fantastic production of those

12"
(lindstrom
/ syntax erik) An anthem for the pre-apocalyse generation, spinning a woven
path to dancefloor bliss and enlightenment. This is Fjordfunk: hear him roar.
Behold ear-goodies from Fjordfunk, with his hi-quality sonic fishing fleet. The
sounds of epic coldwater trawling can now be yours in the safety and comfort of
your own adobe. The Scampi Disco Scamp takes dancefloor analog melodic waves
from the seas and oceans of tranquility, and then weaves the cosmogony of new
record label, Luna Flicks, deftly and with the skill of Loki himself into strangely
solid beat-nets to catch unwary listeners by the feet. With this, the first
lunar orbit, we hear Ovid 8 metamorphose into a post-9/11 poissonier. Good
lord, St. Francis himself couldn't get the mackerel dancing so well (despite
their lack of jiving feet)! An anthem for the pre-apocalyse generation,
spinning a woven path to dancefloor bliss and enlightenment. This is Fjordfunk:
hear him roar Unmistakably Prawn-like and just as tasty, comes Lindstrom's
2003-but-released-at-last mind-jackin' remix of "Let Our Spirits Go",
which he made while wearing a particularly nice pair of Gore-Tex boots (priorto
his 7th evolution). All hail the HPL and his dancey old feet (and the natives
look on in disbelief: "He be a shaman!" they cry). May Syntax Erik
live forever, grammatically, emphatically, dramatically, ecstatically (he be da
half of Kyd & Kango dat be da Kyd, an' he knowed then an' knows now how to
pan-fry a big fish like "Let Our Spirits Go"). The floor be shakin'
while our knees be a-quakin' and the inner monkey wakens lookin' for a flight

Bearfunk
presents Stevie Kotey & DJ Kent : Rools For Rules Vol 1 : Bear Funk : 2XCD
'Bear
entertainment has been releasing quality music since day one, and since they
were the first label to show any interest for my music back in 2003, I'll
always save a special place in my heart for them'. Lindstrøm - Rools for Rules
Vol.1 Mixed by Stevie Kotey & DJ Kent At last it's here! Bear
Entertainment's first compilation has been a long time coming, but it's been
well worth the wait. Started in 2000 when owner Stevie Kotey had trouble
finding a suitable home for his music, so he thought lets do it our way.
Uncompromising, undiluted and totally underground that's the bear way. Bear
Entertainment was started in 2000 to release quality leftfield music. It has
been doing so for 7 years and has an extensive catalogue of titles. The label
can proudly boast that we released some of the first productions & remixes
by now very well established artists. These include such luminaries as
Lindstrøm, Chicken Lips, Prins Thomas, Idjut Boys, Todd Terje, Lexx, DJ Kent,
ALTZ, Fabrizio Mammarella, Ray Mang, Theo Parrish and of course productions of
label boss, Stevie Kotey The Rools for Rules idea was created in Holland when Stevie Kotey played
at the legendary Melkweg (Milkyway) club Amsterdam. We were having a good chat about how liberal Holland is and my friend
remarked, "it may seem liberal but in Holland they have rules for rules!" Stevie kept
this quote in his mind and saved for the bear compilation series. At bear
entertainment HQ we pride ourselves on not having any rules when it comes to
signing new music. Of course there has and always will be a strong link with
disco & house but the label has never been scared of pushing boundaries and
releasing experimental music. CD1 mixed by Stevie Kotey has many unreleased
gems including new music from 80's electronic pioneers Research, Sweden's bright new thing Sankt
Göran and new Italian producers The Diaphanoids. The Diaphanoids member Andrea
Bellentani is also a classical composer who has written for the late Luciano

Sally
Shapiro : Jackie Jackie (incl. Junior Boys Remix) : Permanent Vacation :
12"
Sally
Shapiro's music is heavily influenced by 80s italo disco. The project also
includes the composer and producer Johan Agebjörn, both live in Gothenburg, Sweden. Their debut maxi-single
"I'll Be By Your Side" was released on the Austrian Diskokaine label
in the summer of 2006, and was later followed up by the album "Disco
Romance" and the maxi-single "Anorak Christmas". The release of
Disco Romance was met with overwhelming praise, earning an 8.5/10 and
"Best New Music" at Pitchforkmedia in early 2007 (and #32 in their
top 50 albums of 2007 chart), a number 11 position in the iTunes US electronic
charts and numerous featured interviews in publications such as Vice and XLR8R
magazine's with the reserved and ambiguous Shapiro. Among others enthusiasts
were the Village Voice and The San Francisco Bay Guardian, who claimed,
"Fans of St. Etienne and Annie should run out and buy it before they've
finished reading this sentence. (It's an) early contender for album of the
year." In October 2007, Canadian Paper Bag Records re-released Disco
Romance in North
America.
The release was nominated as "electronic/dance album of the year" on
U.S. Plug Awards, while Sally herself was nominated as "female artist of
the year". The first release in 2008 from Sally Shapiro will be the 12?
"Jackie Jackie",featuring remixes by Junior Boys and Dyylan on
Permanent Vacation. The Original is a stunnig beautiful catchy song,on which
you will be hooked immediately and the refrain won't leave you alone for a long
time. The mighty Junior Boys turn "Jackie Jackie" into a blinding
disco stomper with a very high energy level to go nuts on the late night
floor. The remix from the highly anticipated newcomer Dyylan is a dreamy ambient
rework that you can put on repeat when you drive from Sweden to Italy. On top of things, there
is the bonus track "Skating In The Moonshine" an uptempo italo pop
anthem. "Jackie Jackie" is also the first Sally Shapiro track with an
official music video, made by Tarantula Productions.

delivered by Italian duo Supersonic Lovers. That's Luca 'DJ Rocca'
Roccatagliati, known for his Ajello project, and Marcello Giordani, who
released on Players Paradise and Mule Musiq. If you like to boogie on funky
analogue basslines and gently house your body on deep intoxicating grooves,
this may be the perfect Radius cut for you. The Supersonic Lovers cooked a
tasty dancefloor dish, tastefully blending deep house flavours and disco funk
spices. Fans of Metro Area, Idjut Boyz and Mudd will surely like this! 'Nero
Boogie' could be described as an electric funk work out on a house trip and
'Driving On Broadway' has a smooth NY disco flavour. 'Summer Sweat' leans a bit
more towards italo disco, but the sweet rhodes chords give it a laidback daydream disco feel.
Delightfully sweet 'Boogie Nights' disco!!

Lionni : Better Change : MULE ELECTRONIC : 12"
Excellent
debut release of Spanish artist Tony Lionni. This man is expected to be one of
the hottest artists on Mule this year. Support comes from Francois Kevorkian,
Chateau Flight, Âme etc. The title track "Better Change" is a deep
house tune with a classic feeling, reminiscent of the sound of Larry Heard,
Marshall Jefferson's late 80s productions or early works of Blaze. "The
Presence" has a more minimal approach. Dark but still beautiful. Sounds a
bit like Lawrence. "Raices" is
an organic tech house track in Innervison/Drumpoet style organic tech house.

Beanfield
/ Invisible Session : Tides (Ripperton rmx) / Till The End : Compost : 12"
A very
special Compost release with two very rare tracks! The A-side features a great
remix of Beanfield's "Tides" with amazing vocals from Bajka - of
course its not quite up there with the unbelievable Carl Craig mix but then
that would be an uphill struggle. Ripperton from the Lazy Fat People adds his
moody, deep slant to the track, less anthemic than Carl Craig but a more than
welcome alternative. This mix was available for a short time as bootleg with
Ricardo Villalobos's remix of Depeche Mode's "Sinner In Me" on the
flip and sold out quickly despite the poor sound quality. Finally, one year
later, this great tune sees it official release completely remasterd in
chrystal clear sound - get it, play it, love it! In 2006 the duo Tom Wieland
and Marc Frank - better known as 7 Samurai - crafted a fine remix of Invisible
Sessions under their Panoptikum moniker. When Michael Reinboth considered this
remix for his new Future Sounds Of Jazz compilation the guys decided to
contribute even a little bit more: an exclusive new version which became a
definitely highlight of the whole compilation. The Panoptikum 2007 Remix
surprisingly takes a leaf out of Innervisions' book for a smooth deep houser
with a slighty techy sound and a touch of Detroit in the vein of Âme or Henrik Schwarz. In
contrast to the vocal version included on FSOJ this 12? features the trippy
instrumental version. Ace stuff! Two must have tracks - all killer, no
filler!!!

Cari
Lekebush : Shaded EP (Jesper Dahlback / Kolombo Remixes) : Turbo : 12"
In 1995,
I was playing Goa Trance mixed with Funkybreaks. The whole era makes me
nauseous. Anyway, around this time, my dad was in London, and I asked him to get
me some records at Zoom Records (RIP). He came back with Canada's first copy of
Hardfloor's "Acperience" and a white label that just said "FRED
1". FRED 1 changed my life. FRED was hard techno updated. FRED had a sound
I had never heard, super-compressed and insane: the attitude of gabber but with
style. I was reborn and inspired to change my name. FRED also had another
name... Cari Lekebusch. In the mid-90's a small group of Swedes basically
changed techno. They'll never get the props that Detroiters (or now Berliners
)get... And at the center of this revolution (that also included Adam Beyer,
Jesper Dahlback (note to reader, John Dahlback was 8 at the time), Alexi Delano
and Joel Mull) was the Godfather... Cari Lekebusch. Cari's records were so
ahead of their time that he got kinda screwed. He wrote the book on running an
indie techno empire... the graphics, the limited editions, the alter-egos, he
did it all. For me it was inspirational..... and now more than a decade later
its time to pay tribute to a legend. Fast forward to 2003. Jesper gives me a
remix he just did for Cari.... I fall in love. The track was
"Shaded", and for years I closed sets with it.....

Turner
: She Was Sent (Vince Watson / Sten Remixes) : Orphanear : 12"
For
orphanear´s third release Turner - She Was Sent Remixes", two prominent
remix-guests join forces to bring a sweet foretaste of spring. Sten
(dial/smallville) & Vince Watson (planet e/delsin) are following the
successful detroit-affine path, Pawel was taking, with the first two orphanear
releases. Sten takes both the vocals and guitars of the original track and
includes them in a beautiful melancholic hymn, as if guitars had always been a
perfect fit in detroit techno. He also delivers a beautiful beatless version of his mix
as a creative mash-up tool. Vince Watson uses even more of the original to
achieve nothing less than a born-and-bred pop-epic of nearly 11 minutes. An
instant classic. The original version of "She Was Sent" was included
on the last Turner album "Slow Abuse", released 2006 over mute and
ladomat." Jimpster (Freerange): "So nice to get a record like this
that just jumps out of the grooves and bites you on the ears! Seriously
refreshing stuff to soothe the soul. All mixes are cracking. "

Williams
: El Baile : Get Physical : 12"
Burst
onto the scene is an overused phrase, but that's exactly what Scottish producer
Williams did when his track 'Picadilly Circuits' was released by Get Physical
back in 2004. Though he'd released a couple of records previously, it was this
unforgettably dramatic, bleepy electro workout which put Williams' name on the
map and led to a succession of well-received singles and remixes for The Knife,
Eyerer & Chopstick, Marc Romboy and Robyn.Following a short hiatus,
Williams is back with a brand new 12" for Get Physical, El Baile. The lead
track immediately enthrals with its galloping kick, snare and analogue bass pattern,
before a typically Williams-eque, fat but understated electro motif, phased
chords and crisp percussion edits propel it onwards into the heart of the
dancefloor. 'The Unbearable Truth' is a thrillingly modern, moody take on the
straight-up acid track. A devastatingly simple, bending acid line lies at the
heart of the track, but it's the way the uncompromisingly linear beat and
one-note bassline play off it that really makes this track fly. House music to
get lost inside.'Kiss of Life' sounds every bit as vital and reviving as its
title implies. Its beauty lies in the intricate and expressive interplay of
synths: beginning with a lowslung melodic motif, a more nimble, staccato
bassline emerges, before the deep, kosmische-style chords arrive ahead of a
powerful breakdown into heads-down techhouse strut.

Minilogue
: Jamaica / Hispaniola : Cocoon Recordings :
12"
Sometimes,
it's still worth not to waste your youth with nonsense but to learn to play an
instrument. Like in the case of Sebastian Mullaert, who has learned to play
violin, organ and piano, while his partner Marcus Henriksson rather came from
Kraftwerk and Human League to electronic music. As Son Kite, the two Swedes
have already a well-known name in the psy-trance scene, and as Minilogue, they
now start to conquer the Minimal and House world. With their rather unique
sound, they manage the tightrope walk between Minimal and Trance and never
allow us to put them into a drawer. Especially with their debut on Cocoon
Recordings, Minilogue present themselves in a different way, compared to their
releases on Traum or Wagon Repair. "Jamaica" is a calm track at the first hearing and
is perfect for building up a set. Beginning with bird-like sounds, the track
builds up slowly and quickly becomes very interesting and tricky, ramifies as
organic as a climbing plant, and when the tribal sound emerges from the
underground, this track has exactly what makes Minilogue so special: organic
matter and groovy sounds, worked into a minimal labyrinth with very much love
for the details. All of that can also be found on the B side which seems to be
more adequate for the morning hours, with its somehow spacey sound. With "Jamaica", Mullaert and
Henriksson prove that they are floating on the very surface of the endless
minimal ocean. And with their album "Animals" being already in sight
on Cocoon recordings, one can be highly anxious of what is coming ahead, by
Minilogue and Techno Made in Sweden.

Luca
Bacchetti : Human EP (Lee Van Dowski Remix) : Wagon Repair : 12"
Luca
Bacchetti continues his ascent with his third Wagon Repair release, fresh in
the midst of December's imperious 'Like A Sadhu' EP. Continuing with his
globetrotting theme, 'Night Over Kwazulu' refers to the partially autonomous
Zulu state granted by South Africa in the 1980's, a fitting inspiration for another of Luca's
intricate and immersive electronic journeys. The A side 'Night Over Kwazulu'
stirs together deep African drum patterns, pulsing tech-house percussion and
kindling melodic sparks. A haunting chanted vocal and delayed horn melody
introduce mystery to a wilderness of echoed tone and chimed synth. B side
'Rollin Brooklyn (Lee Van Dowski's Monday Turbulence Mix 1)' sees the
Swiss/French techno DJ reinvent a track from Luca's first Wagon Repair release.
Highly percussive from the beginning, a sharp metallic pattern is softened by
ethereal pads and a dramatic string melody. A warm and distorted vocal passage
introduces a fast percussive climb, intensified to climax by a dissonant synth
melody. Anthony Collins(: "A Night Over Kwazulu : is SO GREAT !!!!! WILL

Kerowack
: The First EP : Thunder Finger : 12"
Dance
albums almost immediately get segued into one of two categories in my mind:
purely for electronica/dance fanatics (i.e. unlistenable) or enjoyable both on
the dance floor and off (i.e. !!!). Kerowack attempts to be both within the
confines of a six track EP, and emerges surprisingly unscathed…relatively. The London duo - made up of Dan
Gerber and Saul Good - debuted with the single 'Dirty Bumf' in 2005, through
Rip Records. Now on Thunder Finger Records, Kerowack has released their initial
multi-track work, appropriately titled The First EP. While you may assume you
know what Kerowack is getting at by the electronica-filled opening track
"Dirt Grabber" - that is, an electronica album made only for those
who obsess about electronica music - "Fuck Guitars" may catch you off-guard.
Milly Blue's vocals (of the Basement Jaxx) add a refreshing pop touch to
Kerowack's work, while not betraying their dance roots. In essence, "Fuck
Guitars" is a track that straddles the great divide of electronica music.
"Keep it Movin'" does the same, but by inserting the fast-paced rap
of Doc Brown (a postmodern lyrical poet and live MC for Mark Ronson) where
Blue's sensual vocals once seduced. "Joolz" proves that Karowack
don't need vocals to bridge the void either, adding a near-ambient aspect to
their danceable electronica efforts. "Harpooner" may be the most
fascinating of their tracks-a quick-n-dirty track featuring the same blips and
bleeps that you may remember from certain Sonic the Hedgehog games. While all
of the tracks hold their own short-comings, and "Naf Monk" is
rendered unlistenable by the blaring klaxon siren that refuses to shut up,
Kerowack is both innovative and traditional in the confining space of an EP.
The First EP is a listenable dance record for those who don't need ten minutes
of bass-level repetition, while not betraying Kerowack's rave roots. Most
importantly though, when aided with flashing lights and some neon-checkered
dance floor, The First EP will definitely get you moving.

Roger : The Renegade EP : Real Tone : 12"
When I
first started making the drum on my MPC it sounded like a battle of drums I
then added some stabs from the machines, trying to make it sound like the
oldschool Chicago tracks. This track is all about editing, drum programming and
of course the inimitable tap repeat touch that only the MPC can generate. The
end result is Ninted-House, a pure floor killer for all you real house heads.
The Clash is not a reference to the band (who I love btw) but I felt the track
goes well with Ninted-House it has the same MPC groove. Stabs and Hip-Hop
sampled voices that remind us of those kind of tracks, where editing and sound
mixing are more important than the musical elements. Its that breadth in House
music that I love. Enjoy those two floor killers and dance ur ass off! Franck Roger

Their
debut album after a host of 12” singles. Titled "CLIN D'OEIL", their
album is a tribute to the golden age of hiphop, taking its strength into the
roots of the black music and more notably in jazz music. Through out the album,
the listeners will discover the warmful sound of the old jazz fusion records
from the 70's mixed with samples and live instruments on which JAZZ LIBERATORZ
have invited la creme de la creme of the independant hip hop soul & jazz
scene such as LIZZ FIELDS, SADAT X, J.LIVE, RAASHAN AHAMD, TABLEEK (MASPYKE),
and more. This CD has already sold over 6k in Japan and 2k in France. Don’tsleep on this one.
