Jackmate : Male Kicks : Philpot : 12"
Limited to 800 coloured vinyl - purple transparent!! After last years successfull “Blackbox” album on our phil e-divison and the “Interspherical Tensions” ep on “Freude-am-Tanzen", The Jacker is back on Philpot with his second 12"nch “Male Kicks". The follow-up of “Male Isms” which was released in 2004 comes along with two variations of the track “Gothan", a timeless Deephouse track and it´s beatless dub version. The main title “Male Kicks” is an upbuilding funky Techno track that starts with African tribal sounds and smooth percussion before it twists into a stormer…the subtle effect of different layers of drums and chords generates an atmosphere far away from being just a tool…for those who know!

INT002
Windsurf : Windsurf EP : Internasjonal : 12"
A joint effort between Prins Thomas and Word And Sound- The idea behind the label is to put out good music and not limiting ourselves to stick with a specific genre, instead opting to stay fresh and individual with each release going in every direction we feel. We’re gonna be highlighting new talent, re-releasing some lesser known nuggets and certainly give you some dancefloor killers along the way to. From japanese techno to California kraut : ) just the way we like it… second release up is a taste of what’s to come later in 2008 when we drop Windsurf’s debut album. these 4 tracks where initially planned for release on Sentrall(one of my favourite US labels by the way)but where for some strange reason scrapped and made available as mp3 only. too sad as this is some of the finest heady downbeat electronic music to appear in the current baleric, cosmic blah blah blah call it what you want scene. windsurf consists of 1 part Sorcerer and 1 part Hatchback, both has records out on Tirk and Thisisnotanexit respectively and they’ve also managed to deliever killer reworks of LCD Soundsystem and Shawn Lee’s Ping Pong Orchestra(to be unleashed early 2008). crafting their own musical universeout of layers and layers of guitars and synths, never going for the obvious… well, I’m not gonna spend more time trying to convince you, check it out at wordandsound.de(paste in appropriate link here f.ex….)

Rising young Dutch producer Andy Duguid provides the remix adding an electro driven rougher edge to Somewhere Inside. PERMVAC017
Bruce Lenkei : Moonlight Zombie : Permanent Vacation : 12"
Hard to believe that this was not an original from the cosmic era, instead it is a new production by Bruce Lenkei! This track immediately came on to us very strong with it’s magic sounds and the great atmosphere, which describes the title best. After we included the moonlightzombiedance into our mix for the D.I.R.T.Y Soundsystem from Paris, we got crazy feedback from around the globe and so we decided to put it on wax. On the remix duties we have the hot talented Michoacan, who earned himself a very good reputation with 12”s on labels like Bear Enterainment, Grayhound Recordings, Tiny Sticks and Lektroluv under his belt. Most recently he also got remixed by the almighty DJ Harvey and The Glimmers. He speeded the tempo of the original way up and transformes it into a crazy krautrock stepper in the vain of goblin. It makes the people dance like zombies on speed - we experienced :). If you dig the zombiezombie stuff you will love this one.

Fenou - the sublabel of Mo’s Ferry Prod. for more experimental tracks between minimal and electronica leaves the path of releasing only minicompilations with fenou05. Kadebostan’s „grand theatre e.p.“ is an homage to fantastic voices from a distant place, as it seems. With his first EP on Freude am Tanzen he already showed that his music is a melange of longingly melodies, melancholic vocals and minimal instrumented electronics, that is nothing but touching. MPM052
Kova & Miles : Clap Clap (Hand Clappin' Song) : Melting Pot Music : 7"
Grown and sexy cover of the Meters classic by Kova (ex-Breakout) and Miles Bonny. Kova is one third of the now defunct producer trio Breakout. Their massive afro-funk version of “Planet Rock” sold over 8.000 copies in 2006. Miles Bonny debuted on MPM with the “Closer Love” EP. The record has been dubbed “sexy jazz dance with a touch of Dilla” and has just been picked by GP for the next Brownswood comp. “Clap Clap” is an inspired meeting of Breakout’s uncut future funk and Miles’ velvet leftfield crooning. PS: Right now, Kova is working on his first solo EP while Miles is fastly becoming “the voice of MPM” by lacing vocals for DJ Day and Kutiman and working on an EP with producer Brenk. A copmplete Miles Bonny solo album is also in the making.

MUSIKKRAUSE23
Ian Simmonds : The Woodhouse Ep : Musik Krause : 12"
A1 - Roots: A watermark of the poetic! A charming, coastal forest, poetic, staccato, swing electric dunked in the depths of the world. Touching, perceptive, a particular feel. There is the story and the appearance of your life in his voice. Absolutely get to know the band project Wise in Time - upbeat melancholy! A2 - Nikki: Now I want that the hips start to move. A tapered yet fertile ambition with mathematical precision connects you with open-hearted, trumpeting frankness. A progressive travel agent for the original globetrotter in Ian’s world of the broken jet-set eco house without the baggage! B1- The Woodhouse Suite: The world is enough. An Irish beat culture roundhouse with jazz follicles, which doesn’t look into the sky but rather into the distance. Arousing human fantasies and desires in the process. The principle is of the driving variety, which after precise twists always returns to its proper course. Subway and distance travel at the same time.

Soulphiction : Ghana Wadada : Sonar Kollectiv : 12"
Following on from his 2006 album ‘State Of Euphoria’, SoulPhiction brings a fresh new 12” on Sonar Kollektiv to accompany his forthcoming album. •As well as having releases on Sonar Kollektiv and his own Philpot label, SoulPhiction aka Jackmate aka Manmadescience member aka Stuttgart man Michel Baumann has also released music on Perlon, Playhouse, Poker Flat, Freude Am Tanzen, Moon Harbour, Liebe / Detail, DIY, Mule and Resopal, and has remixed International Pony, Dapayk & Padberg, Egoexpress, Move D, Solomun and Eva Be, amongst others. Being a longtime brother in soul, SoulPhiction was represented on the recent Sonar Kollektiv anniversary compilation ‘Ten Years Who Cares’. •Lead track ‘Ghana Wadada’ is a dark dancefloor romp complete with haunting flute melodies and ethnic vocals. This is a nice lounge tune ideal for building up at the start of a set. •Marcin Öz aka Berlin DJ Highfish aka Whitest Boy Alive member is featured on the funky number ‘Prison Song’. Lots of live bass combined with a shaker gives this tune its groove but the beat is the rhythm of a genuine chain gang. This stunning track has been played up and down already by Alex Barck of Jazzanova. •B-side stomper ‘Velveteens’ is a great little dance number. The sound is lovely and raw - a long way from a lot of the over-polished productions one hears played out in clubs these days. •Michel Baumann is open to everything. While his Jackmate project focuses mainly on straight beats and functional house, SoulPhiction takes in influences from hip hop and jazz, resulting in a truly experimental feel. SoulPhiction’s productions are restrained and minimal in the right way - he doesn’t let things get overloaded.

Countparis & Katherine Ellis : Poza : Dirty Soul : 12"
The feel good anthem that introduced the world to CountParis is back! Poza quickly found success from top world dj’s such as Tiësto, Marco V, Eddie Halliwell, Stonebridge, and Matt Darey. Released as an instrumental a few months ago, this explosive single demanded a vocal treatment and killer topline and in comes talented singer/songwriter Katherine Ellis. Her smash hit vocals on ‘Fascinated’ and Roger Sanchez’s ‘Lost,’ have cemented Katherine as one of the top female sought after vocalists to come out of the UK. The single is finally complete and ready to be heard and played around the world. Bigger in everyway, brilliant topline lyrics andtremendous vocal work will solidify it as radio A list single and dancefloor favourite.  On the remix tip, we have one of the hottest remixing duo’s in the last few months; the hard working duo of Dave Armstrong & Redroche. Roog & Greg Ft Anita Kelsey : Wicked World : R&G Electronics : 12"
In the fickle, competitive and uncompromising world of dance music there is often little time to look at life outside the scene, let alone maintain a social conscious. DJs, however, are largely creative, sensitive individuals who have to be completely in touchwith their surroundings in order to bring the right sounds to the public each weekend. While dance music is about escapism for many, the new single from Roog and Greg directly addresses what is happening in our world in an intelligent and thought-provoking way in the new release “Wicked World”.

Already well known on the scene for their precise deep tech-house sound and unique live shows, they deliver another first class EP here on Poker Flat. ‘Reflections’ is a typically nonchalant display of the young pair’s talents; tight percussive layers build to reveal a classic groove. As if to cement the track’s foundations in House, legendary vocalist and figurehead for the genre Robert Owens provides a gritty monologue that comes straight from the heart, reminding us all to ‘Keep it Real!’ Just as soon as Owens’ stirring tones disappear, a pulsing bassline infuses the blend with a splash of Acid. Instantly creating a memorable moment, this fantastic meeting of minds will work in so many different situations! The slightly darker subtleties of ‘Onika’ are released in mesmeric phases which confirm the pair’s arrangement skills. Rich percussive gestures dance around another air tight groove and a ignature riff that deftly balances between funk and paranoia. An ideal tool to deploy when its time to take the party up few notches, or indeed hold it there, teetering on the edge! This is solid, dynamic House Music, clearly designed for the dancefloor, but its lovingly crafted spatial qualities and careful crescendos are the marks of two very devoted musicians.

CADENZA24

Reboot : Be Tougher, Letters : Cadenza : 12"
Cadenza Records introduces another new signing to the label: Reboot, aka Frank Heinrich. After releasing tracks for Combi.int and i220 with his former partner Delle in the duo Delle-Heinrich, the 30-year-old Frankfurt musician takes a dramatic step forward as Reboot, an alias dedicated to grooves both darkly emphatic and dazzlingly polyrhythmic. Launched only a year ago, Heinrich’s Reboot project is so far responsible for the well-received “Charlotte” for Frankfurt’s Below label as well as a recent remix for Greek duo Lemos & Kreon, on Be-Chosen. Where “Charlotte” was suffused with sweetness and light and tentative time-keeping, Reboot’s debut EP for Cadenza Records is considerably darker.

Mr Statik : Teletourgiko : Karloff : 12"
Stathis Kalatzis aka Mr. Statik, also known for his collaboration as Mud Max, is giving full scope to his greek temperament on the “Temperamento EP". On four tracks he bounces and bleeps with great efforts and a broad horizon, constantly changing and constantly different. Is this about minimal techno? Guess so. But it has rarely been heard in such a refreshing shape of surprising shifts in direction, floating voices and sign stimuli denying any conformity. 4 tracks that simply fit - for DJ’s looking for danger, and for the afterhour in front of the homelike fireplace.

Chris Kaeser was born in France in 1973 from musician parents. He grew up around the music since a young age and composed his first tracks in 1988. All his years working on music finally paid off in 1991 with his first release. From 1998 till 2001, after 10 years of collaboration, Chris and his nephew David Kaeser created 3 labels: Unique, Saturn and Mad Club Records. They released a lot of records under various aliases such as "Computer 3000", "New Face" or "K'Band"; Tracks which got played worldwide and became instant hits. In 2004, after taking a few years off, Chris made a strong international come back with a first release under his own name Chris Kaeser called "Black Widow" on Electron Records (one of Pool E Music sub-labels created by Antoine Clamaran and Laurent Pautrat). Chris has had a lot of releases, always on Pool E Music; a first E.P on Voices Records - Nightlife E.P, then Boogie Star / Harmony as well as several remixes like Dj Rooster and Sammy Peralta's Shake It, Laurent Pautrat's Circonstances and Funky People's, Waiting For u. March 2005, after a trip to Miami Winter Music Conference, pleased by many compliments from international producers, Chris decided to create his own label Unick Records within Pool E Music, which also assures the management and the licensing

NUDISCO - a name that takes two dimensions -music- and -time- into an artistic statement- evolved clubsound. The Hamburg based duo NUDISCO deliver minimal oriented drumming, short decays, modern groove and just enough sound to honour the harmonic background of music in general. PIEMONT goes even further and created a straight minimal version that will surely please even the most credible DJs around. For the collectors of deep tunes, AJOWAN sure is the right choice. Crisp high percussions, subtle bass and a melody that wont leave your mind for a long time create an awesome mood on the floor. Hypnotic, propulsive and igratiating it sure is a winner on the floor. STEREOFUNK adds a remix that subjoins additional kick on top of the original idea. Pumping compression and oldschool chords that remind you of the good old 90s but combined with the productions skills of nowadays itll burn down the house! You better be prepared!
