Revlover : Can't Stand (Dirty 30 / ZZZ / Original Mixes) : Four Music : 12"
There is not so much we know about REVLOVER. It all started to in April 2007, when HEADMAN was invited to play at the DIESEL party in Tokyo. A 5′5″ tall guy alledgedly from Hong-Kong came straight to the DJ booth with a CD named La Musique - Revlover Edit, shaked hands quickly with his favorite artist between 2 songs and disappeared in the fog of the smoke machine….Rather intrigued by that edit HEADMAN listened to it, loved it and decided to give it a chance at the peaktime of his next DJ set. You know the end of the story yourself. REVLOVER’s edit of RIOT IN BELGIUM’s hit took the dancefloor apart and got the crowd screaming for more. A few months later REVLOVER got in touch with HEADMAN again and sent him his new track Can’t Stand. And it blasted the speakers of his home-studio with its bouncing beats. in an “old school 90s meets dirty rave” style. HEADMAN could not let this tune die without the glory it deserved. He decided to enroll REVLOVER in his Relish label and to release his track on a E.P. with 2 very special remixes, as Relish needed at least 2 crazy minds for this slice of sickness. Canadian DIRTY 30, who already remixed his buddy DON CASH on the Disco Wreck 12″, took the bull by the horns and injected some nasty drops of acid in this steroid-fuelled monster. On the flipside wicked Aussies of ZZZ came courtesy of Bang Gang 12 Inches with an amazing piece of rework in a pure nu-rave symphonic style with rolling piano madness and ear-blowing basslines that won’t miss its aim of getting those asses shaking on the dancefloor!

DIRT022
Dirt Crew : Boogie Down (Chopstick & Brocksieper Remixes) : Dirt Crew Records : 12"
The last remix single from the „Raw“ Album features some really nice and tasty mixes of Boogie Down that vary from deep and dark minimal techno to exstatic tech-house. First up are Chopstick & Johnjon who both are up and coming artist that most of you might know from their label Criminal Records and the collaborations of Chopstick as Eyerer and Chopstick on Great Stuff recordings. Their mix of Boogie Down is a real trancey one with a great bassline added to the original feel of the track. Second man in line is Substatic’s Falko Brocksieper who delivers a very powerful minimal techno joint with great effects and pitched down vocals, this is a true dark roller ! Also our friends from Montreal Canada „Les Bouchers“ better known as DJ Shine and Poontz made a cool electro House cut and complete this fine release in style. Ben Watt (Buzzin Fly): “ Ace. Carl Craig, Karizma, DJ Sneak, Peter Kruder, Sandy Rivera, Zed Bias – the list just goes on and on. NRK136
Hot Lizard Theme : (Charles Webster/Carl Craig Remix) : Nrk : 12"
Charles Webster and Atjazz revisit this mid 90s deep house classic with a pair of hot new remixes.  Backed by the original Carl Craig mix, a timeless production from the Detroit legend. Originally released in 1995, Hot Lizard's ‘The Theme’ became a benchmark release on the mid-90s deep house scene, beefed up by remixes from Detroit's Carl Craig, Charles Webster (under his Love From San Francisco guise) and Mark Broom.  Produced by Charles Webster, Gary Marsden and Paul Wain, ‘The Theme’ was an epic deep tech hybrid, bridging the gap between the deep house sound and the more progressive tech-house records that dominated the late 90s. This vinyl re-release includes two brand new remixes from original producer Charles Webster, and the original Carl Craig remix.  Webster’s ‘Version’ remix sees him collaborate with fellow Nottingham producer Atjazz, and together they weigh in with a fantastic punchy remix, with haunting live flutes, metallic stabs and shimmering electronics.  Very much the sound of now, sophisticated deep house with traditional techno influences. Webster goes solo for his Charles Webster 2008 remix, stripping things right back for a delicate and brooding house production, getting its warmth from the haunting chords. On the flip, Carl Craig's swirling and minimalist re-working is based on the pulsing rhythms of the human heartbeat, and surely sits in the top 10 of his classic remixes. Back out on vinyl after a long absence, Craig’s mix proves again that his productions and remixes always remain timeless.

Another big release on Winding Road Records!! Two of the hottest names in deep tech house music, Shur-i-kan and Milton Jackson, team up for 3 epic adventures through sizzling electronic waters. Swap Shop is a subtle brain fiddler with mischievous hooky chord stabs, which builds, builds and builds again. After the summer break and the successful release of DPN “Don’t wanna go home”, the Dos Palomas Negras record label is back with anew track and a new sound. This time acclaimed producer/dj Alex Romano comes out right with a track banging with chunky beats, ultra-funk grooves, trumpets, synths and a very familiar sample. The 12” package also has remixes by Dutch youngster Jordan Rivera who gives the track a more minimalistic approach using only chopped up snippets of the sample adding ongoing stabbing synths and whirling sounds. US producer Peter Presta known for his trademark tribal beats and Big Room sounds uses the trumpet sound and sampleto maximum effect. The digital only remix by T&T/DPN take on different route using their Latin beats and fresh sounds. BLH217
John Dahlback : Belly Button / Song For Djingi :Black Hole : 12"
In contrast to his pounding electro heavy and dirty sound, we are treated to a more subtle peak time sound. Belly Button starts matters off with a deep bubbling and building almost chilled meets progressive filled sound backed with a cool synth that kicks in to a charged deep drive. It slowly builds to a release of total fresh and inspiring happy uplifting vibes that spiral around your head. Song For Djingis takes what seems like a laid back approach to house, with touches of progressive added too, another unique breakdown forms the main focus of the track, that glides effortlessly along and sits with a chunky almost funky groove and beat. Great to see a slightly different direction from John. Supported by: Tiësto, Mark Norman, Johan Gielen, Phynn, Cor Fijneman, Preach, Mr Sam, Cosmic Gate, Progression, Ton TB and many more.

Luciano Pizzella : Pavlov Said (Daso Remix) : Dogtown : 12"
Luciano Pizzella, a 1974 born neapolitan biologist and producer, is one of those newcomers in 2007 that have drawed the attention of Sven Väth, Tiefschwarz, Kiki, Moguai and many others with his releases on Italic and Broque. For Dogtown he delivers a first class melodic electro-house gem with a profound bassline underneath that we simply couldn't resist. And to top things off, we asked Daso (Spectral, My Best Friend, Connaisseur) to do a remix on the B-side. As expected, he does the job in style with one of his darkest and most exellent remixes to date. Highly recommended to fans of Dubfire, Josh Wink and alike! Enjoy!!

FR098
Marcel Wave : Lower Allston Ep : Freerange : 12"
Tanner Ross aka Marcel Wave has been making waves recently with his unique sounding productions and remixes for the likes of Dirtybird, Mothership, Odori and now here on Freerange. Hot off the back of remixing Claude Vonstroke’s ‘Who’s Afraid Of Detroit’ and Blaze’s ‘Lovelee Dae’ it was time for Tanner Ross to create his deep house alter ego Marcel Wave and produce two winners that look set to keep regular followers of Freerange very happy indeed. The techy edged minimal groove of ‘27 Holton’ rolls along with super tight production and drops in all the right places to ensure maximum impact on the dancefloor. Up next is ‘71 Aldie’, a lesson in deep that gives a nod to Marcel’s own long lost cousin Francois Dubois with its lush synth stabs and rolling, hypnotic groove. Finally, Serafin has been impressing beyond words recently with his label Mountain People and co-productions with Peter Dildo, as well as his former involvement with Luciano and Cadenza. His mix of ‘27 Holton’ goes way old school deep house in vibe but with a forward looking minimal spin which will appeal to fans of Chandler and Luciano alike. Its understated, relentless groove and hooky chord stabs are highly infectious so play this one loud on a big system for maximum effect.

Le Cercle Peul : Le Cercle Peul (Original / Club mix) : Baobob : 12"
Baobab Music is proud to present it’s first release: ‘Le Cercle Peul’ . Ivorian producer Mr Raoul Keasily manages to combine the organic grooves of traditional African instruments ( which were recorded live during sessions in Ivory Coast ) with modern european production techniques. The stunning result is a slick grooving piece of classic housemusic, melting the sounds of now with the sounds of dancemusic’s ancestors. ‘LCP’ comes in two different mixes. With the ‘Originalmix’ showing a more musical, kind of laidback approach whilst the ‘Clubmix’ aiming straight on the dancefloor with more accented drums and a dramatic breakdown. ‘LCP’ has alreay received quite positive reactions via MySpace by the likes of Henrik Schwarz, Josh Deep, Jerome Sydenham and Jephté Guillaume.

SOMA237
Beroshima/Funk D'Void : Horizon Funk (D'Void Rmx) : Soma : 12"
Masterfully combining the best of house and techno in his productions since 1994, when tech-house was just a twinkle in its parents’ eyes, Müller Records label-chief Frank Müller aka Beroshima is somewhat of a sergeant in the ranks of the genre. Soma Records are now proud to present his label debut in the form of ‘Horizon’. The original Horizon was released in summer 2007 on Cocoon Records complete with a minimal rework by Pig & Dan. With such high profile support, Soma jumped at the chance of releasing a remix package of this monster when approached by Müller. On remix duties comes Funk D’Void. Like Müller, Funk has been crafting together house and techno since the mid-nineties making him the perfect candidate for the job. His Hope Remix takes the original and kicks it up a notch in a blissfully ecstatic rework that will set the floor ablaze. Beroshima then hits us with his Deep Mix. A moody, soulful, hypnotically introspective slice of the deepest in deep house, this mix easily lives up to its name. Finishing off the 12” is the Corazon Mix from Müller himself, an inspired rework of Horizon which borrows elements from Müller’s incredible Corazon EP, released on Müller Records in January 2007, blending ingredients from both singles in absolute harmony.

KINDISCH012
Gavin Herlilhy : Opium Haze / Professional Exit : Kindisch : 12"
Gavin Herlihy has long been one of dance music’s most respected journalists and DJs, and with two acclaimed releases on Mood Music last year and more recently a brace of top-drawer remixes for UNKLE and Alexkid, he’s fast becoming one of its hottest producers. Freshly relocated to Berlin, his debut 12″ for Kindisch, ‘Opium Haze’, confirms his status as a skilled and innovative player on the house and techno scene. ‘Opium Haze’ is as heady and intoxicating as its title implies; an effortlessly psychedelic piece of music that’s nonetheless firmly rooted on the dancefloor. It begins with a clicky, funked-up conga tattoo cloaked in disorienting effects which partly obscure the jazzy melody rising up from the mix’s depths. Out of that sticky, dubby fug emerges an insistent, upward-tripping piano line and synthesized string stabs - together forming the kind of rave-ready hook that’ll cause immediate damage in the club. Herlihy is superbly heavy on the edit, using an Eastern woodwind sample, disembodied voices and various percussive elements to deliver build after build, drop after explosive drop. ‘Opium Haze’ is a hugely satisfying piece of music, and a club anthem-in-waiting. ‘Professional Exit’ is a more stripped-down but no less accomplished affair, driven by a warm, rippling bassline and phased electronics. Before the percussion intesifies and interlocks, offsetting a sparse one-note synth line which hangs in the air, thickening it with understated drama. At once seductive and unsettling, experimental and club-oriented, ‘Professional Exit’ is indeed a professional end to a highly professional 12″. Chris Carrier : Le Diablo / High Life / An Other Spliff : Adult Only : 12"
An Ep with expressions of Funk, Latin, Deep House, and Techno- All created by Chris Carrier, a producer who continues to push the envelope of sound which delightfully opens the dancers world up to wonderful surprises! Hat’s off for Adult Only 31! Diablo’s fierce latin-vibed house is deeply pronounced with a lovely latin female vocal. Carrier brings the energy of the track to greater heights with a classy, gradual accent that are expressed boldly on his lively chords that whirl around through the speakers, panning to create an intense endurence for floor movers. This track’s focus on the dance floor grabs and holds immediate attention with many elements that all work and turn for dramatic deliverence. The Latin chica’s vox works itself through the chords and into a mixdown of harmonious perfection. Carrier definitely takes it to the next level with Diablo’s endearing sensuality and high energy, all creating a really amazing deep house track that we globally love to love! Another Spliff sparks off with a punchy, thick-banded ping pong kick that bounces into a deep funked out banger. Various bleeps and sampladelic relics create a fun vibe into another spliff’s female vox who sings it as it is. An upbeat track for nothin but a funky good time- great play for all jackers! High Life has a deep throobing dubbed out classic Carrier feel. His use of micro elements worked into a delicate techno presence gives the track mulit-layered dynamics. His soft distortions bring the dancer into an internal presence of beautiful techno. Carrier drops the vibe into a pumping bassline that gives the track a solid deep house feel and is soon followed by a surprise femal vocal that puts a smile on our faces. His crafty production is so finely angled on close attention to fine detail. The track moves into a field lovers can groove on. One for the celebration of spacious techno sounds that are intelligently transformned into a full on deep house groove. Once again, Chris Carrier expresse

Style Of Eye : The Big Kazoo EP : Dirtybird :12"
Dirtybird #15… Style of Eye has delivered one of the most creative dirtybird releases to date. This is a totally fresh sound coming straight out of Stockholm, Sweden. “The Big Kazoo” is an epic tech-funk masterpiece that achieves ultimate ass shaking glory while also innovating at the same time. Yes, in the past dirtybird has brought you animals, fart noises, bass blips, and strange breakdowns and now a kazoo??? Well, all we have to say is that the Big Kazoo goes a step beyond any gimmicks and brings you the real shit. The beat is solid driving funk just how we like it and the track is destined to be a dirtybird classic. The B-side “Hide” ain’t no slouch either. It mixes in really well with anything you got with congos or any kind of latin shuffle. But Hide also has a really hot techno element that makes it very versatile. The beat is rock solid with a strong syncopated pattern and cool synth dropouts that will even bring the socialites and wallflowers to life. check it! Jimpster (Freerange): “Just ever so slightly huge. a monster really. can't help liking it even though it'll probably irritate the hell out of me in a few weeks. ;) Excellent work Mr Eye! ” Franck Roger (Realtone): “CIRCOLOCO STYLE! ”

Danton Eeprom : Face Control : Fondation : 12"
After several acclaimed releases, Danton Eeprom is now an established name on the international dance scene. His "Confessions Of An English Opium-Eater" on the Infiné imprint turned dance-floors upside down worldwide, and his Freak 'n Chic appearance with the obsessing "All I Can Say" has impressed the whole dj milieu. Now he's back on his own label, Fondation Records, with two new tracks. "Face Control" promises to be one of the hits of this winter. The specific Danton touch, a mixture of deepness and dark psychedelism is taken to a new high. This track is a pure dance-floor killer. A continual and hypnotic melodic rise waiting for an amazing discoid bass line, climax of this epic tune. Definitely the biggest track of the label. On the flipside, "Missing" is a more introspective and mysterious track. A gloomy vocal leitmotiv invites us to a clammy and mental trip. Imagine Louderbach flirting with Audion in a weird club of underground London. Hot. This record fits perfectly the vision of electronic music that Fondation Records sets out to deliver to the world.

Todd Bodine : Secret Edge / Back To Back : Mothership : 12"
Mothership transmission #4… Todd Bodine has been one of our favourite producers for a long time so we are very excited to be able to bring to you this EP on mothership. Todd always brings a swinging groove that works for both minimal and house DJs and this release definitely delivers the doughnuts. Side A, “Secret Edge” will turn any stale room fresh and get everyone’s toes tapping and asses wiggling. It’s got elements of Detroit, Chicago, and Berlin all wound up into a really nice party starter. You can never underestimate a fun grooving track that’s easy to mix and fun to dance to. Side B, “Back to Back” is a submariner’s dream with bubbling water sounds floating and popping over a low funk groove. This is the track for when you want to take it down a notch without losing any dance-floor magic. It’s a real dreamy affair with a fat bottom end. After the big success of our last releases by alex santons, motorcitysoul and jimpster stir15 continues its journey into the deeper spheres of german housemusic. we are happy and proud to welcome two good old friends to the label finally: caller & ridge (aka dadableep) are following our ways and supporting us from the very beginning. the two released great music on labels like rz, traum, lofi stereo (just to name a few) so far. their latest work is an unbelievable statement of what german deephousemusic sounds like in the years 2007/2008. classic elements of the 4/4 universe, warm stabs and chords combined with deep hypnotic basslines to please the crowd and the djs at the same time. first reactions on their “winter e.p.” are overwhelming and returned feedback from the playhouse crew, marcus worgull and the nice guys at buzzin’ fly. “winter” will please fans of lindstrøm and todd terje as well as classic chicago house lovers and is definitely part of the ultimate soundtrack fort his years winterseason!

SVT018
Channel X : Bug In The Coffee EP
Just in time for 2008, Stil vor Talent comes out with its 18TH 12″ already. Label daddy Oliver Koletzki shied at neither time nor effort scouting through Berlin’s relentless afterhour scene to find some fresh blood. And he got lucky. Channel X are two Berliners who have already been making a name for themselves with their energy-laden minimal live sets that are full of clicks, clacks, effects and pumping grooves. Their productions carry the same power as their live sets and, together as Channel X, Andre and Mirko have already released on their affiliated label Kassette Records, a Berlin-based minimal techno label. On Stil vor Talent they are now releasing a three-track-EP that is 100%-dancefloor material! On the main side there is Bug Trouble, an ever-shifting track that is sweetly embedded into a slightly housy groove. Over the top there are some vocals and other effects that sound like the two producers have perfectly mastered the art of live-recording. This is a journey into sound - and dancefloor mayhem, of course! The B-side kicks off with Black Coffee, where we get to experience the more musical side of the production team. A twitchy beat including cowbells and a delayed male vocal sample create the perfect antagonism for the groovy off-beat chord stabs that kick in after the first breakdown. This is the perfect symbiosis between minimal techno and house melodies. Then, for the purists of the minimal genre, there is Bells, a tune that gains its momentum from some greatly produced deep delayed sounds which are perfectly arranged in the midst of a wooden loop. Dark, twisted, yet funky. Definitely one for the Afterhour! With the “Bug in the Coffee EP", Channel X are delivering a class A dancefloor EP that will not only take over the minimal mafia by storm. It’s impossible not to move your feet to these tunes!

3 Channels Pres Catz N Dogz : Fixed Chicken EP : Dirtybird : 12"
3 Channels, the two prolific minimal producers from Poland who turned in one of the very best remixes of “Who’s Afraid of Detroit?” last year, return to dirtybird with a new alias called “Catz ‘n Dogz.” This duo is really delivering some great music that harkens back to the old days of house music when people had fun and parties were all about different kinds of music and not sticking to one genre. Check it.

TSPORK030
Michael Ho : Screw the Coffeemaker (Adam Beyer Remix) : Tuning Spork : 12"
On the A-side, Stockholm’s Adam Beyer (Drumcode) brings his fierce rhythmic detail to the track, replacing the funky sway of the original with gridlocked percussive elements. Upon hearing this dark, driving reinterpretation, Michal felt nearly outdone. On the B-side, the UK’s Inxec (Contexterrior) returns after his recent Flip Beat EP to add his signature sexiness. Here, acoustic-sounding bass and vibraphones blend into stealthy, overpowering synth attacks, providing a peak-time workout that will fill the room with funk. The download version of this release includes both these remixes plus an edit from Michal himself, which he describes as “a very reduced affair… a tool version with more attention to mixability and rhythm, rather than the pomp of the original.” Geoffroy Mugwump (Hi-Phen/mood: “... the flip ids a serious piece of peak-time funk tech action...big.”

Back on the label after their acclaimed cp styre EP and a few releases donk boys delivers here a four tracker EP with their own approach of weird bleep tech house Starting with a1- doozer track (also tilte of the EP) an original piece of mental deep atmosphere mixing with a disturbing heady melody …completely addictive! Follows a2 rufs a minimal bleepy jack’in house track as the Donk know to do… on the flip b1 Broke steak more techy beats and crispy sounds with an impressive groove..shake shake !and on b2 Vaseline on toast in a more freaky twisted house way with cut voice and irresistible groove ..donk boys definitely strike again! DISCOVER07
Greg Downey : Live As Volume 5 : Discover Records : 12"
The highly acclaimed Live As .. series is back for the fifth time with a recording of Greg Downey’s home turf set at the awesome Planet Love festival in Northern Ireland  lLike it’s predecessors in the series, it is mixed club live and box fresh which gives the album the raw appeal that most commercial albums somewhat lack.  lThis is not about a computer mixing an album and someone slapping a name on the cover. here the location gives an intense feel to the experience.  lAfter the huge success of the original ’Live as"in Jan 2005 the series was born.  And what a series it has been. The back-to-basics feel can truly be heard from the thumping beats to the passionate and enthusiastic crowd - it’s as close as you will get to the club experience without actually climbing into your dancing trousers and stepping onto the dance floor.  lThis album perfectly captures the energy of the crowd, and what it means for a DJ to be part of that club   experience. Drop it onto the stereo and feel a part of that energy as well.

Alex Kunnari : Lifted (JS16 / Paul Webster Remixes) : In Trance We Trust : 12"
After beeing hammered by by Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, PvD, Judge Jules and many many more now everybody can buy 'Lifter'. Why? The reviews (below) speak for themselves! Lifter has a really cool fresh trance sound and energy; an electro carved bass drives the main focus of the track with an uplifting synth line running through the track. A really gentle breakdown drops back into the hitting bass and makes the gentle soundscape of the breakdown then have a stronger impact. Very catchy and full of happy edged vibes. JS16 provides a dirty, chunky and far more house styled mix in contrast to the other mixes. Sitting further into techy dance then just trance it has a really cool electro feeling to it and it chugs along and seems to have a more groove led element to it for the floor. Little changes here and there add for the variety and keeps the direction in tact. Utilizing the trancey elements still in the mix you have a far more unique sounding mix that could easily get cross plays and different times of the night.

TOOL033
Darren Mase : Dirty Playroom (Rene Amesz / David Sense / Morning After Remixes) : Toolroom : 12"
Unique TOOLROOM RECORDS Debut release from Darren Mase, The man behind Sander Kleinenberg's hits ‘THE FRUIT’ & ‘THIS IS MIAMI’ & his own Tease Records smash ‘Take That Record Off’ Hailing from Den Haag in the Netherlands, Darren Mase has spent the last five years hard at work behind the scenes in the Dutch scene, working with luminaries such as Sander Kleinenberg (on tracks like “The Fruit” and “This Is Miami”) and recently releasing the floor-pounding “Take That Record Off” on his own Tease Records imprint. Picking up huge interest having had just a few •Aplays on radio (including Rene Amesz’ recent Radio 1 Essential Mix), “Dirty Playroom” is instantly recognisable - a sexy & attitude-filled vocal riding on a bouncing low slung bassline, with stretchy riffs that make you feel like you’re dancing on a bed of elastic bands! Once you’ve heard this track you won’t forget it. Stonking remixes are provided from Norway’s rising star David Sense & the ever-excellent Rene Amesz, with a blinding rework from the producer himself in the Darren Mase ‘Morning After’ remix. This new Toolroom release is a wonderfully wonky weapon that will destroy even themost demanding dancefloors! FEDDE LE GRAND I totally dig the new Darren Mase! Love the original mix the best. It’s the best track I’ve heard in months!!!!! FLASH BROTHERSMark Trophy's mix is the best here, with a surprising uplifting high energy style that will rock!
