BBK025
Fresh BC : Clap / Exhale : Breakbeat Kaos : 12"
DJ Fresh delivers yet another anthem with ’Clap’: Chunky beats and unstoppable rumbling bassline, punctuated by vocal samples with attitude, heavy guitar riffs and strings contrast with the simplest of melody carried through by  subtle keys. ’Clap’ is another dancefloor sure shot with a serious twist. On the flip, ’Exhale (Inhale Remix)’ is another addictive mixture of reggae-fused vibes, heavy breaks and sick keys. Both tracks should feature heavily in the ’Sound Weapon’ project that Fresh is setting up with collaborators Deekline and Wizard alongside MC Ivory, where he uses digital technology to unleash the full potential of his music to  devastating effects.

W10003
Danny Wheeler ft. Blu James : 100 Times / Stargate : W10 Records : 12"
4/5 in iDJ “a smooth, jazzy drum & bass number” "Hotly tipped producer" (DJ magazine) Danny Wheeler is back with a blissful new tune set to be another anthem. Featuring Blu James, Danny has once again found a voice that perfectly compliments his unique style of Jazz fusion drum and bass. Featuring the writer and singer of the famous words "Ain’t nothing going on but history/ But it’s alright, don’t panic", Blu has enjoyed phenomenal worldwide success on Basement Jaxx’s "Red Alert". Now in collaboration with the W10 CEO, Danny brings together her rich vocals with the fresh energy of tidy beats, a sound that brought him great success with Aura last year and continues to set Danny and his label W10 apart. With an easy rolling beat, and the soulful rise and fall of Blu’s vocals this really is dreamy drum and bass at its best. On the flip side of this double 12" Danny Wheeler brings his magic to another soulful number. Still resonating with his characteristic fast soul sound, this track brings together a jump-up drum and bass beat and a smooth, deep bassline, with the keyboard wizardry of Kaidi Tatham (Agent K from 4 hero & Bugz In the attic fame), this is Kandi’s first venture into Drum and Bass and Danny is proud to introduce him on W10. Tightly produced and bringing something a little heavier to this uplifting 12", Danny once again demonstrates the versatility of his unique brand of Soulful drum and bass. These tracks have been getting played by Radio 1’s Giles Peterson amongst others

BRD001
Inside Info / Katharsys : Skyhook / The Scraper : Breed 12 Inches : 12"
Crack the Champagne, get your dancing shoes on, and prepare yourself for another exciting move from Lifted Music. Since its inception Lifted Music has createda massive impact upon the Drum & Bass scene and beyond with their high quality, high octane releases. Aswell as their infamous Podcast series (with a listenership in excess of 100,000 avid fans), incredible branding and a master plan to deliver the next generation of artist's right to your aural doorstep……The master plan is Lifted's brand new concept label 'Breed Twelve Inches', an imprint which will act as a starting block for musicians with extreme talent andproduction abilities. The main concept is simple; Breed Twelve Inches has been set up as a means to nurture new talent, a tool to help establish up and comingartists, raise them through the ranks until they are ready to debut their very best work on the colossal Lifted Music. Chris Renegade, the owner of Lifted Music, is stepping up to the plate, and having worked with the cream of Drum & Bass' artists through some of the D&Bscene's biggest labels, we think he's in a pretty strong position to do so. As you would expect Chris Renegade is excited about the future of Breed: "Breed Twelve Inches is destined to be the future of progressive aggressive Drum &Bass, I'm looking for all round good produced music with high quality engineering, but the main importance is I'm looking for something a little different, something new. We're talking about receiving a fresh demo from an artist and offering them enough guidance and advise to see them through to a stage wherethey're doing serious damage on dancefloors around the world." With Lifted Music's already burgeoning reputation for bringing the bashiest beats this side of a Bruce Lee film, you'd be hard pressed not to take them seriously.Breed Twelve Inches will operate on a 'quality over quantity' basis, so, just as with its sister label, you can be assured that every release will be pure, unadulterated dancefloor destroying material.

SECOPS011
Seba & Krazy : Inkasso / Consciousness : Secret Operations : 12"
Killer beats as Seba & Krazy take it back. Proper rolling business on the darkside 'Inkasso', as a echoing vocal swirls around the exterior and thudding bass holds down the interior, whilst stepper breaks drive the track. This one comes down like a late 90's Total Science or Digital production. The flip utilises a tight two-step break, Detroit style atmospherics and a modulated bass. Quality stuff, dont sleep on this one

SUBS003
DJ ESP aka Woody Mc Bride : The Basketball Hero Remixes : Subsistenz : 12"
Raiden and Cooh step up to the plate to take on one of Technos legendary classic trax Off The Ceiling by the acid master himself dj ESP aka Woody McBride. Raiden head honcho of Offkey records and pioneer of the ever growing Techno Dnb scene has once again added his no compromise approach and intense editing to full effect. Bringing Off The Ceiling to a whole new audience and raising the bar within the technoid community. The constant building and switching between grooves and metallic lines creates an intense journey through sounds of Techno and Dnb. Cooh one of the freshest artists on the planet at this minute continues to impress and deliver tracks of the highest order and this RMX is no exception. Taking a slightly different approach to the rework Cooh sends us down acid lane with high pressure 303s squelching out of every groove possible. ESP approved - enough said. Accciiiiiiiiiid!

REVREC017
Break : No Going Back / Let It Lie : Revolution Recordings : 12"
Following on from the success of ‘Spirits’ 'Not Enough' and ‘Longed Out’, Break joins the Revolution with his first solo 12” and, as always, he has delivered the goods in style, with ‘No going back’ having featured on Break & Fierce’s much lauded ATM Mag mix CD and on their celebrated appearance on Bailey’s 1xtra show. A roller from the outset with its layered beats and hypnotic atmosphere, ‘No going back’ builds the pressure and doesn’t stop. Once the bass groove gets hold and begins to work with the grinding mids there is quite literally no going back. Bad! ‘Let it lie’ is a gentle stepper that you can let do the work for you. Caressed by deep, temperate textures and hints of guitar, the boom bass will get heads nodding and bodies swaying while the hazy sunshine vibe will take care of the rest: a perfect summer anthem. Watch the ride. Be a part of the Revolution.

BWARE003
Various : Symptomless Coma EP : Barcode : 2x12"
Barcode presents it's first release of 2008 and for many heads, this is where it all begins, for some, it may even be where it all ends. The Symptomless Coma EP is the sound that defines Barcode for many; in fact, it is such a nightclub staple that many folk have gotten thoroughly sick of it by now, wondering what the big deal was about the Symptomless Coma EP. Well, the big deal is this: It is hard and dark; the songs are meticulously crafted and each and every bar is filled with lovely explorations of decay, emptiness, and fear. With each artist from a different country this record is a lot more diverse than previous projects, conceptually and musically representing the ever-changing global drum and bass sound.

NFALL001
Psidream & Pacific : Runway / Without A Trace : Nightfall : 12"
Psidream and Pacific push their sound to the next level with the launch of their new label Nightfall Recordings. Focusing on the futuristic but musical dancefloor vibes, Nightfall will serve as a main channel for their best work, collaborative or solo. Runway and Without A Trace are funk fueled rollers and were essential in shaping the sound of Nightfall. A1 - Runway: Runway starts off with tense atmosphere and a mid-line tease. The energy builds and eventually drops into a grimey bassline with rolling drums. A vocal hook joins them shortly and builds into a bassline switch which never fails to bring the funk. B1 - Without A Trace: Without A Trace starts off with big synth chords that carry the rest of the atmosphere which grows steady until a distinct melody is heard. No time wasted here, this tune drops right into an upfront lead, heavy bass line and running beats. Not long after, another switch is made with an even nastier bassline. Support:Ed Rush, Pendulum, Bad Company, Gridlok, Black Sun Empire, Cause 4 Concern, Concord Dawn, Bulletproof, State Of Mind, The Upbeats, etc.

ZOMBIEUK20
Mutated Forms : Stonefaced Murderer / Booze Monster : Zombie UK : 12"
‘Stonefaced Murderer’ is grim and grimey as the title suggests! A brooding intro with orchestral auras and tight  frantic beats build to a crescendo with a menacing voice asking ‘bring me everyone’ before an evil cry of ‘everyone’ permeates the drop. ‘Booze Monster’ gives more than a nod to Twisted’s classic Formation cuts ‘Acid Bath’ and ‘Sick Bag’. A deceptively calm intro of hi-hats a gentle soundsweeps give way to full on rolling LFO bass work out - you have been warned!

DZR007
Ill Logic & Raf : Be Free / Smash Daddy : DZR : 12"
Since the release of 2004’s highly successful One Stop To Glory featuring soul legend Don-e, Ill Logic & Raf have gone on to see many a release on legendary labels from the likes of Metalheadz, V and Bingo to name but a few. Now a few years on Ill Logic & Raf make a one stop back to DZR to bring to us the Drum and Bass Soul Classic of 2008 ‘Be free’ is a Soul Drenched full vocal roller, Cool Rhodes Chords and a little cough set the smoky atmosphere right, leading way to the drums. Strings and background effects compliment the intro as it breaks down to reveal the Be Free Vocal. Pure Quality! this takes us on a little journey with catchy lyrics and a hook to get you singing along word for word. On the flip the boys show their versatility with something that can only be described as Jazz entitled Smash Daddy. Pure Shabeen vibes give this track the edge with a JB style ‘Huh’ kicking off the intro with rolling breaks, organ keys and Jazz-Funk guitar licks that will get your head nodding from the start, ‘Smash Daddy’ is a high energy workout with all the atmosphere of a late night house party, this one is bound to get you doing all kinds of dance moves. Wheel it up! DJ support from key tastemakers Fabio, LTJ Bukem, Bryan Gee, Bailey, Flight and Marcus Intalex to name just a few.

ARG014
Clouds featuring Tiiu : Under The Dancing Feet / Worms : Argon Records : 12"
Here it is! The release that’s been on everyone’s want list for what feels like an age! USA based Argon Records reach release number 14 in fine style, having being catapulted to the premier league of dubstep labels of late with UK live appearances at nights like DMZ from label head-honcho Nick Argon and argon artists Matty G and Tes La Rok along with the announcement of the forthcoming album from Matty G to also be released on Argon, things are moving fast and furious. Clouds is a Finnish electronic music production team that consists of Tommi Liikka and Samuli Tanner. Tommi is a Helsinki native and Samuli comes from a small village deep in rural Finland. The pair met through mutual friends in 1999, and ever since planned on working on some music together, hindered by both working on various projects and shows of their own. The plan was finally realised after a string of coincidences and happy accidents led them to sharing a house in the northern suburbs of Helsinki. Under The Dancing Feet has been an absolute phenomenon in the dubstep scene, tearing it up in the dance worldwide, garnering support from all the top DJ’s from a variety of genres, including plays on Radio 1 experimental. With catchy vocals, melodic rhythms and pummelling bass this is surely the kind of tune to propel dubstep further into the mainstream. Do not sleep on this one it is sure to fly out.

ARG015
Babylon System & Noah D : Examination Of Time / Shevil : Argon Records : 12"
Woah! Dance floor smasher alert! Argon are spoiling everyone this week with two releases at the same time. Once you’ve copped the Clouds release you’ll also need to check this one out. Babylon System who already have an Argon release under their belt come again with the goods. ‘Examination of Time’ is a stomper, an ultra dark slow intro builds and builds before the inevitable drop is enough to sweep you clean off your feet. On the flip ‘Shevil’ comes with the more familiar haunted dub atmosphere reminiscent of early Digital Mystikz. Don’t sleep on this!

BOKA017
Emalkay : My Story / Crunk In Space : Boka Records : 12"
The prolific Boka Records strike again with their 17th release, and it does not disappoint, resident beat merchant Emalkay provides us with a total anthem! ‘My Story’ has been doing the rounds on Dubplate lately and ripping up raves across the globe, it’s reminiscent of the Rusko vibe with the heavily dub influenced vocal sample carrying the tune along before the wobble-tastic drop gets everyone skanking out! ‘My Story’ is currently receiving big support from the bassline house dj’s as well as the dubstep heads. Expect to hear this song more and more over the coming months. ‘Crunk in Space’ on the flip is more the sound we’ve come to expect from Emalkay, an ominous eerie intro suddenly explodes into an almost industrial sounding musical cacophony, another stomper sure to rock the dancefloor. A track that somehow manages to morph crunk, grime, electro and dubstep influences with devastating consequences. Another corking release from Boka!

SUBT002
Monster, Janner, Defekta & Rogue State : Eat Your Fucking Dinner : Subtrakt : 12"
After the success of Subtrakt 001 Outta Here EP we have stepped it up with a 4tracker from the sounds of the north and south of island dubstep. Monsta known to most for his epic cartoons and cover work for Rufige Crew and GOLDIE takes a stand with his 1st outing on Subtrakt with Dinner - a head nodder of the finest order. Huge thick wobbling bass keeps the tight groove a plodding, wilst the subtle but cutting percs drive da tune along in its natural order. The 1st of much ear candy to come from Monsta on Subtrakt. Janner is back with another production master class The Power Of Sound - a classic at our residency at Drumattic - always one to get the crowd freaking, Rich subs and heavy filtered synths push the almighty kit of Janner from reverb to delay in another floor mangler from this UK exile. Defekta increases the pressure on the b side with Generator a cut full of colour and deep rhythms change and move around various basses and tones that wobble in and out leaving space for the lush piano to accent breaks and peaks. No stranger to the dub and the dupstep scene Rogue State finishes this EP off in true style. This dubby 4x4 number drives along side its skanks to bring any arena to a peek, crossing over many genres in sound. Big Tings A Gwarn Up Ere is set to appeal to all dub heads.

Plump Dj’S : Torque Of The Devil Fingerlickin
The Plump DJs follow up their award winning ‘System Addict’ release with another colossal double headed 12”, taken from their hotly anticipated forthcoming album. ‘Torque Of The Devil’ is an atmospheric and compelling soundtrack with typical Plump dancefloor appeal, the contrast of good and evil comes and licks us in the face as the relentless lead synth engulfs us into the depths of the darkside then spits us onto the dancefloor. On the AA ‘Take the Weight’ is all electro induced beats, siren blasts and riddims to knock you off your feet. Thoroughbred breakbeat that triggers all the sonic responses you expect from the true pioneers of this genre. A quirky vocal “start shaking and move it all around” cuts and chops like a DJ on the fader, whilst the fat kick drum pounds and the alarm stabs ring. ‘Take the Weight’ is a meticulously engineered playground of audio assault. Both tracks have been peak time heavyweights in the Plump DJs’ sets for the last 6 months, only due to huge public demand are they being released ahead of the album for club dance floors everywhere. The impeccable production of this double A side is an unmissable taste of their forthcoming album, due for release in June.Press – Reviews Daily Record, DJ Money Shot (Lead Review), Mixmag Single of the Month, Base.Ad, BijouBreaks, EQ Mag, NuSkoolBreaks, Beatzbase, Inhale.org, IDJ. Parov Stelar comes back with a bomb. After releasing his 3rd album SHINE in October 2007 which is defenitely song orientated the FLAME OF FAME EP comes to rock the dancefloors. Maybe Parov Stelars most powerful record ever shows the changeableness of his production skills.  The Flame, The Spider and Fleur De Lille are a mixture of pumping electrohouse combined with his unique style of using swing samples. This extraordinary blend of directions creates a wonderful collection of songs or tracks and it should be easy for the djs to grab the crowd with this record. The 4th track on FLAME OF FAME is a "straight forward" breakbeat track with a catchy pianoline and vocalhooks.

Grupo Fantasma : Bacalao Con Pan : Freestyle : 12"
Grupo Fantasma, the finest and funkiest latin orchestra to come out of the United States in the last decade, continue to ride the momentum of an enormous 2007 into the new year. From their critically acclaimed performances with Prince in London this past August to a national airing on PBS´s Austin City Limits television program, the band continues to expand their musical horizons and earth-shattering live shows. With all of their releases the band has become even more adventurous, mixing styles in ways that are unexpected but ruled by the groove. This group of enthusiastic youngsters has grown into a monstrous and masterful ensemble that has sold more than 20,000 discs independently. Their chops and confidence continue to grow but the raw, boisterous attitude remains. The band successfully obliterates the clichs that often plague the current Latin music market, all the while keeping their feet firmly planted in the traditions that they love and deeply respect.

Volume 4 of the unstoppable NICE UP! series sees the London party starters up the ante once again with 2 new genre bending treats for your dancefloor. Having already given Damien Marley, Dizzee Rascal, Biggie Smalls, Nas and Jamie Lidell the NICE UP! fix up, this time they take on NME fave The Gossips "Standing In The Way Of Control", cutting the distinctive vocals of Beth Ditto to a classic skanking riddim, resulting in what sounds like a Jagerbomb soaked moshpit at Coxsone Dodd´s Downbeat soundsystem. Over on the flip, diminutive rapper Skee Lo sees his anthemic 90s hip hop ode to lost love riding the much slept on ´Oh Jah´ from Brighton´s Black Grass. Adding some dubwise effects and retaining some of the original vocals, this has already been caned by the likes of Daddy G (Massive Attack), Jstar and the Beatvandals, and should see some heavy rotation throughout the summer.
