LUCKYDEVIL004
Survival
/ Zyon Base : Forget Tomorrow / The Wire : Lucky Devil : 12"
Lucky Devil
is proud to welcome two of our favourite producers of the moment to the fold.
Steve Survival's production and engineering skills are envied by anyone out
there whoís making music. Famed for his mixdowns, this man knows how to bring
every element out of his tracks perfectly. Zyon Base hails from Belfast, home of Calibre, Zero
Tolerance and and this guy is most certainly one to watch for the future.
Forget Tomorrow is a chunky, relentless piece of future music that has been
cutting holes in dancefloors and getting much love from all of the usual
suspects. Beginning with a crisp drum roll backed by some subtle atmospherics
this track develops into an amen-led killer, with some incredible basswork.
Original, retrospective and futuristicÖpure Lucky Devil vibes The Wire is one
of those rare tracks that manages to balance the soulful with an edge that make
it work on the floor. Melancholy piano samples and a haunting blues vocal
combine with some tight breaks and a roaring b-line that gets straight down to
business. We love this one...

EXIT012
D
Bridge : The Gemini Principle Part II 12" Album Sampler : Exit Records :
12"
Following
on from The Gemini Principle Part I, and prequel to The Gemini Principle Album,
we have the second album sampler which contains two more tracks from D Bridge. A:The
Simplest thing. This track is a fine example of D Bridges versatility Chanting,
reassuring vocals set the groove as the rock solid kick and snare march in and
take over to set the pace. Just as you think your keeping up, he flicks on his
trusty womp osciilator, shakes you off his tail and slips away into the valley
of the unknown . Stepping beats and soul warming low end bump you across the
finish line, but trust me, youʼll want to play it again AA:The Fortunate
Fool Once again, D Bridges trademark drum grooves and cinematic atmospheres
simmer you into a trance before easing in the bass and slowly turning up the
heat . Minimal and unnerving sound effects create a sense of paranoia and suspense
whilst the ever-changing bassline growls away like a tormented wild beast
trapped in a cage. This will get you gritting your teeth and clenching your
fists as you feel the uncontrollable rage taking over ….not for the faint
hearted.

David
WS / Nifty : Dona do Primeiro Andar / The Latin Connection : Sunrize Recordings
: 12"
Following
the the great feedback on Sunrize 001, sweetly crafted by the labelheads
themselves Human Factor, Sunrize Recordings now brings two fresh artists along
the journey into the sunny vibes of Brazilian and Latin Drum and Bass, which is
what Sunrize Recordings is all about. For Sunrize 002, we proudly present David
WS and Nifty. Get ready for more serious Brazilian and Latin Vibez with these
two A-Side boomers. David WS has been causing a serious damage in Brazil with his fresh and very Dancefloor
targeted approach to the brazilian sound. FAT basslines and very full and
dynamic beats, alongside extremely cheerful and swingy 70’s Samba-Rock vibes,
this track will definitely bring a Beautiful energy to the Dancefloor. “Dona do
Primeiro Andar”,heavily championed by Patife, Human Factor and David WS himself,
is a serious tune for all the PARTY-DJs out there. On the flip, the english bwoy
Nifty debuts with “The Latin Connection”. With beautifully executed rare Latin
samples and tight ‘n’ straight Beats and Bass, this nugget is THE ONE for the
ladies. It’s got “FEEL GOOD” written all over it!!! This tune has been expected
on wax for a long time from all the brazilian D’n’B Headz. It’s finally out now
on the home of the Brazilian and Latin Drum’n’Bass sound, SUNRIZE RECORDINGS

Pendulum
: Propane Nightmares : Ear Storm : 12"
Pendulum
release the single ‘Propane Nightmares’ as an exciting taster ahead of their
second album ‘In Silico’ that follows on May 12th. The groundbreaking eclectic
crossover dance band will also be taking their full live band experience on the
road with a UK tour throughout May.
Pushing drum and bass into a fresh, visceral territory, ‘In Silico’ follows
Pendulum’s 150,000 selling debut ‘Hold Your Colour’ and will be their first
under a new deal with Ear Storm / Warner Bros. Records. Pendulum have been
writing new material ever since the release of ‘Hold Your Colour’ and have
recorded the bulk of the material at their own studio (the acoustic drums were
the only exception, recorded at London’s Olympic Studios and premixed by Dave Bascombe,
known for his work with Depeche Mode and The Verve). Influenced by an eclectic
array of sounds including Led Zeppelin, Noisia, Underoath, TC and Atreyu, ‘In Silico’
represents a bold step-forward for Pendulum.

High
Contrast : Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Jonny L Remix) : Hospital Records : 12"
High
Contrast returns via a truly uncompromising remix overhaul from one of D&B’s
original underground heroes! The legendary JONNY L makes his NHS debut with a
remix of the massive "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" - one of the standout cuts
from High Contrasts huge "Tough Guys Don’t Dance" LP. Already huge
with DJs worldwide this is the kind of remix which needs no introduction or explanation:-
just wind it up and watch it go. straight for the jugular! lOn the flip is a
vinyl outing for the deep and deadly "Nobody Gets Out Of Here Alive"
another highlight from the CD album - it’s a track which has been a mainstay of
High Contrast’s DJ sets over the last 6 months, and as a result has had junglists
worldwide clamoring for a vinyl release. With High Contrast’s awesome remix of
the Utah Saints "Something Good" smashing radio one in recent weeks,
and his "Watch The Ride" mix CD flying off the shelves of all good
record shops this remix 12" sees High Contrast going back to his roots -
delivering dancefloor damage on both sides of the wax.

Wolfman
/ Obeah : The Kraken / Kiss : Kraken Recordings : 12"
The
Danish producer Obeah (aka 2000F) returns with his third Dub-inspired and
bass-heavy release on Kraken Recordings. This time Obeah also draws upon
various influences, including Latin Jazz and early Techno, even fusing as a
world first the sounds of Dubstep with the acid sounds of the TB-303. Obeah’s
Kiss, heavy on tape delay and dub effects, features distinct bass, chords and
melodies, as well as immense percussion, showcasing the wide variety of musical
influences that continues to inspire the musical work of 2000F. Kraken
Recordings 005 will be released 7th of April 2008, and will be terrorising the
seven seas and dubstep raves around the world!

Lone
Wolf : Three Styles Of Death EP : Nozl Records : 12"
4/5 in Mixmag
“this EP shows a talent emerging” lOnce more drawing from his wide ranging
musical influences, Lone Wolf delivers the knock-out blow to follow on from
last year’s hugely successful ’Rivers Of Shaolin EP’. From the G-Funk of
’Marauder (Remix)’, through the dubbed-out sounds of ’Twistin’ Style’ to the
punishing terror of ’Zombies’, Lone Wolf again flips the script on the Dubstep
blueprint. Already on heavy rotation from D-Man, H.O.D and the Urban Graffiti
Camp, this EP offers something for everyone. Press: "Second time round for
Bloodied Blade and the beats are still hitting hard enough to snap your neck.. Another
unmissable, deadly sonic excursion from Lone Wolf." - ATM Magazine "NozL
Recordings present another heavyweight and forward-thinking release in the
shape of ’The Tale Of Three Styles Of Death’... skull crushing beats, and chest
pounding basslines that will leave you gasping for air." - Knowledge
Magazine "Listening to the Lone Wolf’s remix of ’Marauder’ at high volume
makes you feel battered and bruised" - IDJ Magazine Track List: A.
Marauder (Remix) Original by Excision and Endophyte B1. Twistin’ Style B2.

TRG
& Dub U : Losing Marbles : Hotflush Recordings : 12"
The
second release on Hotflush offshoot label HF2 comes in the shape of a
collaboration between the prolific Romanian producer, TRG, and a new name from
across the pond, Dub U, plus a remix from one of the most exciting talents to
emerge in bass music recently, 2562. The original is a 3:2 reducer, drenched in
delays, crunching percussion and floating effects. This is the sound of two
producers experimenting with contrasting influences, as sub bass collides with
techno sensibilities to create something a bit different. On the flip, 2562
produces another stormer to add to his already impressive discography. Adding
his trademark garage influence to the minimised vision of the original, the
result is a dubbed out dancefloor killer which has been shaking out clubs from
Bristol to Berlin in the last few months.

SCAR01
Deleta
: Aerosol Bastards EP : Sub Carnage : 10"
DELETA aka
DJ Bazooka is the label boss of this new dubstep label catering to the darker,
harder side of dubstep. Bazooka is also behind Berlin's most ferocious and
unapologetic drum'n'bass label Aural Carnage. With an almost vampiric hunger
for the tastes of hip-hop, ragga, jungle, metal, reggae, dub and graffiti
DELETA has spawned nothing but gutwrenching and unforgettable tracks. First up
on the A-side is the pirate anthem 'R.O.B.O.T.' with the relentless hydraulic
crunch of a malignant lead-footed robot wielding bass as it's weapon.
R.O.B.O.T. manages to keep the skank to keep it all moving, but don't be
fooled, Lurking on the other side of this dark valley is the pitch black
dancehall monster 'Murderah' featuring the vocal executions of Bounty Killer
and Elephant Man. 'Murderah' stomps through the dance floor and makes the rude
boys step up their game!! Having previously worked with Daddy Freddy, this
track cements DELETA's talents with ragga mcs. This heavyweight 10" has
been getting plays from the all the usual players: NType, Headhunter, Darkside
- "Big up Sub Carnage! Some serious material coming from you guys right
now!...I ensured this was smashed on my Rinse FM show....it caused
destruction!" has also been getting attention from some other quarters,
namely DJ Food - "crushingly twisted dubstep seemingly made by a giant
automaton brought up on a diet of LFO and Test Dept." and The Bug.
Rejecting the usual tight lipped text-only release, This release comes in a
full colour sleeve created by Fuziak and Bazooka reflecting the frantic
creations of a graffer's sketchbook.

RECON022
High
Eight : Coming To / Blazer Flame Remix : Reconnect : 12"
next up
for 2008 is the return of re:connect veteran high eight. last seen paired up
with liz melody on 2006's “rock my world”, and his stonking remix of liz's
anthem “forget u”, we're proud to welcome back a brand new cut from the man
himself. high eight started out in breaks as one half of the future funk squad,
and started his own solo project in 2004. since then he's had numerous releases
on re:connect, as well as remixes for tcr, mbn, en:vision and sound of habib. with
many more remixes and singles to follow, 2008 is going to be a very busy year
for this man! on the a, the original “coming to” kicks off with crisp rolling
beats, a throbbing bass and dark stabs, before a bubbling dirty analogue riff
creeps it's way in driving the track along. this one has undertones of
underworld and chemical brothers, albeit with a fat nasty breakbeat on it! tried
and tested in the clubs, this one definitely rocks the dancefloor! on remix
duties this time comes relative newcomer, but one-to-watch blazerflame. we were
so taken with his previous work “50 cent bitch” and “blazerflail” (to name but
two), we had to get this guy in on a remix! blazerflame's remix takes the hooky
parts of the original, cutting up the vocal snippets, and twisting the vibe in
a way only he can. in places, this one wouldn't sound out of place in a george
a. romero movie! scarily good!

Drumattic
Twins : Broken Planet / Can't Get Enough : Finger Lickin : 12"
***First
Time at Sector. FLR086 next week! *** The Drumattics are back with perfect
production and memorable stomping beats, the first track from their forthcoming
LP. •Ex-Shades Of Rhythm boys the Drumattic Twins return with their first
outing since the monster 2007 release ‘Hyperspeed’ / ‘333’. •‘Broken
Planet’ infuses eastern synth vibes detuned to the point of breaking. This
hypnotic lead flows over a pounding bass line and tight break beats; with a
highly infectious bass line and ‘ravetastic’ stabs this tune is bound to make
you get on the floor. •‘Cant Give You Up’ is more progressive and stripped
back, leaning heavily towards house but still defiantly driving a ‘breaks’
sound. Bendy synths and warm swells coupled with disco vocal licks give ‘Cant
Give You Up’ a truly unique sound, not only taking cues from a scene
increasingly dominated with electro house influences but turning the tables and
showing them how it should be done. •Vocals come courtesy of Grinny Grandad, a
Yorkshire-based collective who first caught the eye of Finger Lickin’ head
honchos Soul Of Man as their chosen winners of an online new music competition
last year run by Carbon Logic. •Already tipped to be one the largest breakbeat
tracks of the year, this is the first in a barrage of Drumattic releases
leading up to their hugely anticipated artist album set for release this
summer. •Available with limited colour artwork sleeves. Radio Promotion Radio 1
