Dom & Roland : Through The Looking Glass Part 5 : Dom & Roland Productions : 12"
Part 5 of Through The Looking Glass. Judging from the dance floor feedback this is the biggest 12” yet from Dom’s Album. Grabbing your attention with its rocking rhythm, twisted computer data and ripping bass lick. Fans, of Virus, No U turn, Lifted, Noisia will love this.

SOULR033
Alix Perez & Lynx : Allegiance EP : Soul:R : 2x12"
Two of Drum and bass’s greatest hopes come together on the consistently excellent and forward thinking Soul:r label. As you would expect quality oozes out of the speakers. all four tracks feature Perez or Lynx either in solo or collaboration form and there's not a duff note to be found across the two slabs. Title track ‘Allegiance’ and ‘Inferno’ see the duo exploring deep space and bass manipulation that kind of reminds me of Krust circa Soul In Motion but with a sparser sound and bang up to date beats, Elsewhere Lynx goes funk mode with the definite grower ‘Randy’ a track that excels with heavy funk horn stabs and cinematic strings, while Perez confirms his love of all things Hip Hop with the sublime ‘Crooklyn’ Pure Class. a Alix Perez - Inferno b Alix Perez - Crooklyn c Alix Perez & Lynx - Allegiance d Lynx - Randy

SA003
Aspect & Gremlinz/Data : Upset / Curfew : Sound Artillery : 12"
Sound Artillery started with a spark, but this third release is the megaton bomb ready to start the war. Out of nowhere, Aspect & Gremlinz’ "Upset (Crack Wife)" has gotten the attention of some well-established names and a host of top DJs! Starting out subtle enough with breaks that signal the impending doom, this track drops into a full-fledged, hard-edged roller, taking the listener on a head-nodding journey, all the while keeping it both simple and precise. Very heavy funk without all of the additives, this is another addition to the stable of tunes Aspect & Gremlinz have created together.  On the flip, Data takes us back ten years ago, with the techie "Curfew". A sly sample invoking the terror of a war-torn city’s attempt to enact a curfew sits perfectly before this one truly takes off. This is another cut that doesn’t try to be too much, just establishes a serious vibe and works very well in the mix. Sound Artillery: what a perfect name for this label. Weapons for mass consumption, tools for the audio soundclash, tracks that hurt you. and make you come back for more! Supporting DJs include Andy C, Shy FX, Goldie, Commix, Loxy, Sabre, D Bridge, Storm, Vicious Circle, Manifest, Verb, DJ E, Solidindustry and many more!

ALLSORTS06
Mutated Forms : Detuned / Mindless : Allsorts : 12"
A new imprint from the Grid Recordings Group which caters for the deeper beats, soulful sounds and allsorts of styles Mutated Forms are making a bit of a name for themselves at the moment. The Estonian trio have been producing some of the grimiest jump-up currently doing the rounds with releases on Hazards label and our Zombie imprint, but don’t be deceived as these guys can definitely roll the rough with the smooth. ALLSORTS002 showed one side of this, but on ALLSORTS006 the guys go even deeper. ‘Detuned’ sits on the fine line between the light and the dark with the potential to go either way depending on when and where you’re listening. Some dreamy swirling pads and vocal echoes build the intro before a brooding emotive bassline fills in the gaps. Light piano snippets sit delicately on the top of the bass being triggered at all the right moments. Simple but effective. ‘Mindless’ sees the trio acknowledge the scenes history kicking things off with a classic old skool break and some Bukem-esque pads. It then goes a little deeper with some cheeky drum edits and snappy bass hits which keep the pace up whilst keeping never becoming too much or taking away from the tunes rolling beginnings.
lAll we hope is that people who know these guys only for their more jumpy numbers check this one out, as they won’t be disappointed!

TRIM006
Rregula & Dementia : Sludge Tunnel / Overcast : Trust In Music : 12"
Rregula & Dementia have their next release on Trustinmusic, showcasing the versatility of their productions. “Sludge Tunnel” sounds familiar with the hyped up, technoid rave style that this team is best known for, driving beats and heavy synths make this one a prime time tune. “Overcast” rolls out nicely with an uplifting and dreamy vibe. At the latest from the catchy vocal coming in, a tasty hook is here to stay. Getting played by N.Phect , Bad Robot , TGM , Proktah , Kenei to name a few.

SHB004
Rregula : Corner Hash Man / Shits Dope : Shady Brain : 12"
Without a doubt 2008 will be a good year for .shadybrain as the label has lined up some heavy tunes to be released in the forthcoming months. It all starts with SHB004 containing two tunes by the Australian dreadlock madman Rregula. Rregula, who is one part of the infamous duo Bad Robot, has already released on labels like DSCI4, Black Sun Empire, Technique and Disturbed. With „Corner Hash Man" and „Shit's Dope" on .shadybrain he rolls out two tunes which will set every dancefloor on fire. A – Rregula – Corner Hash Man. The tune starts off with cutting edge synth melodies before the drop leads into a grimey bassline craziness. Accompanied by strong beats which hit as hard as a Tyson punch „Corner Hash Man" is the perfect tune for the peak time of each rave as well as every neurofunk clubnight. AA – Rregula – Shit's Dope. Shit really is dope with this one. Do not mistake this tune for a B-Side filler as it is straight A-Side material and will satisfy every DnB head who likes his beats hard and filthy. The pumping bassline and heavy beat choppage will make all the dancers call out for one thing only: The rewind! Both tunes have received heavy DJ support from the likes of Cause4Concern, Panacea, State Of Mind, Silent Witness, Counterstrike, Vicious Circle, Misanthrop, Chris. SU, Audio, Mindscape, and many more.

BRIG010
Concept & Shnek : Dreamin / Electrify : Brigand : 12"
Limited promo white labels. Always keeping an eye out for fresh new talent is the uber-cool Dkay who draws in the production expertise of fellow Austrian countrymen Concept & Shnek for the tenth release on his own Brigand Recordings. ‘Dreamin’ is a crispy 2-stepping piece with a smooth female vox that cuts over the start before an organ led b-line kicks in and dreamy piano licks carry us away. Definitely one for the deeper, more soulful heads though hard enough to pack a punch on the dance floor. No doubt this has done the damage at D Kay’s ‘Beat It’ night in Vienna where the two are residents. The B-side is simply gorgeous. ‘Electrify’ features more warm sounding beats and sweet guitar slides that build to a drop of melodic bass and more pepperings of a subtle electric guitar riff. Add a sexy vocal sample into the mix and it’s a winner. Fans of the Matrix & Futurebound sound should lap this one up.

HDB010
Darkstar : Need You / Squeeze My Lime : HyperDub : 12"
After their recent flurry on the transfer market, Hyperdub unleash their latest new signing, Darkstar. On their first release for the label, Darkstar donate two slices of juicy, tingling, infectious vocoder love that will have you leaking oil everywhere. After two astounding but woefully under-rated releases on their own 2010 imprint, ‘Need You’ brings together their refined ear for a catchy melody and vocal earworm with some serious robot romance and silicon sadness. Despite still leaving us speechless, ‘Need You’ compels endless attempts at description ; UK garage meets Daft Punk meets Roger Troutman, or a hypothetical body-popping Burial releasing in 1982. Etc. Crunchy, harpsichord-like synthesized organs wrap around a descending bassline that strangely makes your jaws vibrate. Flip over for the weightier, slo-mo action of ‘Squeeze My Lime’, a lamenting, tangy synthesis of dub and hip hop from another dimension. Another totally unique release from an inventive production team fully deserving of the Hyperdub seal of freshness.

KRKN004
Natasja I Byen / RUF : Ildebrand I Byen (2000F remix) / Want Some Crack : Kraken : 12"
This special Kraken Recordings 004 12” Test Press is sent to only a handful DJs around the World – and you are one of the lucky few! KRKN004 features two distinct tunes from producers 2000F and JSL. Natasja – Ildebrand I Byen (2000F remix): The female Danish reggae/dancehall toaster and deejay Natasja was on the way to gain worldwide recognition, when she tragically was killed in a car crash in Jamaica in the summer of 2007. As the first ever non-Jamaican she had won the prestigious Irie FM Big Break Contest in 2006. Since the age of 13 Natasja had worked exclusively with Reggae and Dancehall, and performed and recorded with artists such as Sly & Robbie, Mad Professor, Elephant Man, Ninja Man and many more. Just before she sadly passed away, Natasja had recorded what was to become her first and last album in Danish. It has sold over 70.000 units, and the first single, Ildebrand i Byen has been remixed by Kraken Recordings’ very own 2000F. It has received a rave response in Denmark, and now Kraken Recordings proudly presents the remix on vinyl. R.I.P Natasja 1974-2007. RUF – Want Some Crack?: “Hey! What’s up, guys? You want some crack?” is the hilarious catch phrase of KrakenRecording’s latest RUF (a.k.a. DJ JSL) release. This is a sure-shot dancefloor filler withextremely heavy wobble basslines, wicked Reggae-samples, and a surprising Soca-inspired carnival breakdown. Whistles and horns crew! Want Some Crack has been rinsed heavily on the UK radio stations, as RUF continues to put Copenhagen, Denmark on the map with his signature basslines and beats. a Natasja I Byen - Ildebrand I Byen (2000F remix) b RUF - Want Some Crack

SUBSOL003
Rusko : Gone 2 Far / 2 N A Q : Sub Soldiers : 12"
Gone 2 Far: Another track that has been featured in many of the dubstep elite’s sets as of late is the banger that is ‘2 Far’. Bound to be one of the craziest basslines you’re likely to hear this side of the solar system, winding up and down scale and changing direction like an antisocial sat nav. And even a cameo appearance from fellow bass fiend ‘Caspa’ - this one’s mental! 2NAQ: Fresh off the back his Fabric Live mix with fellow Sub Soldier ‘Caspa’, ‘Rusko’ steps up with this sick 12”. ‘2NAQ’ has been battered and has been destroying dance floors over the last few months with its outrageous basslines and futuristic funk. OFF001
High Deaf / DZ : The Boss / Get Off : Off Road : 12"
Finish copy promo. Straight off the blocks with explosive intent, is new Bass laden label Off Road Recordings dropping a floor storming 12” from Canada’s hottest team pon the boards, High Deaf. Consisting of Dubstep’s rising star, the mad prolific DZ and DnB mainstay The Fix. High Deaf have clocked up numerous underground anthems between them, anticipation for their debut release has been understandably high. The Boss - Is a fusion of cinematic strings and saw tooth torture-bass, owing as much to Junglist don Clipz as it does to Dubstepper Caspa. Tony Sopranoesque vocal samples add to the rising tension, strings become ever more awkwardly chopped leading up to the speaker-popping drop of the year. As the industrial midrange distortion kicks in and sub bass has soundbwoys running for the lav, silencer shots and scattershot drums turn proceedings to bloody mayhem, not one for R1 daytime. Get Up – On the flip DZ returns to solo duties aided by his trusted synths and fat stack of Hip hop samples. Using a style pioneered on the massive “Just Rolling”, DZ fuses B-boy bravado with old skool rave sentiment. This toxic combo forms a woozy and disorienting wave of war sirens cunningly reigned in by a drum track swiped straight outta Hank Shocklee’s hard drive. Not for the timid.

SUBT002
V/A : Eat Your Fucking Dinner : Subtrakt : 12"
After the success of Subtrakt 001 Outta Here EP we have stepped it up with a 4tracker from the sounds of the north and south of island dubstep. Monsta known to most for his epic cartoons and cover work for Rufige Crew and GOLDIE takes a stand with his 1st outing on Subtrakt with Dinner - a head nodder of the finest order. Huge thick wobbling bass keeps the tight groove a plodding, wilst the subtle but cutting percs drive da tune along in its natural order. The 1st of much ear candy to come from Monsta on Subtrakt. Janner is back with another production master class The Power Of Sound - a classic at our residency at Drumattic - always one to get the crowd freaking, Rich subs and heavy filtered synths push the almighty kit of Janner from reverb to delay in another floor mangler from this UK exile. Defekta increases the pressure on the b side with Generator a cut full of colour and deep rhythms change and move around various basses and tones that wobble in and out leaving space for the lush piano to accent breaks and peaks. No stranger to the dub and the dupstep scene Rogue State finishes this EP off in true style. This dubby 4x4 number drives along side its skanks to bring any arena to a peek, crossing over many genres in sound. Big Tings A Gwarn Up Ere is set to appeal to all dub heads. a1 Monster - Eat Your Fucking Dinner a2 Janner - The Power b1 Defekta - Generator b2 Rogue State - Big Tings Are Gwarn Up Here

Smart Systems : Tingler (30 Hz / Kouncil House / Smart System Remixes) : Jumpin & Pumpin : 12"
Ahead of the issue of THE PULSE EPs for the very first time on CD, The Future Sound Of London have resurrected one of their best loved pseudonyms. In its original version “Tingler” was the lead track on The Pulse EP Volume 3, released in 1991 just ahead of their biggest tune of all time “Papua New Guinea”. Since the 90s The Pulse EPs have been extremely sought after on vinyl (exchanging hands for fortunes on eBay), and with “Tingler” being one of the most popular tracks in the series it’s being released again here with three brand new remixes. The original will appear soon on the Pulse EP CD as part of the original 16 track selection across four volumes, so for now the remixes are exclusive to this limited edition 12” single.

The Phat Riders : Deadline (Rektchordz Remix) : Fresh Produce : 12"
“Fresh Produce” comes correct with three FRESH artists that juiced these tracks. “The Phat RiderZ” are taking no prisoners with “DeadlineX”, a gritty bassline intro and enough edits that even one man couldn’t learn in his whole lifetime! “Curtis B” tore it up on the remix with vocalist Rebecca on Side B with vibrato on the leads, glitched out edits, and the drums sound so real you would think he was playing them right there in front of you. Flipside on Side A, we welcome newcomer “Rektchordz” to the camp.  This Tech Funk remix will have people hopping in the clubs around the world.  With teched out beats with a funked out structure, Rektchordz demonstraits his new direction in nubreed breakbeat. Label owner Josh Lawton loved the bassline and put the cut on Side A, proclaiming “Rektchordz” as a key ingredient to the FPR family.

Waveshape Recordings : Waveshape EP : Waveshape : 12"
Not only is this a 4 track EP featuring some for the freshest new artists in breaks, but the release is also pressed on lovely yellow coloured vinyl! The first track sees Anti-Science & Model101 team up once again to bring you this spring time, feel-good roller. In The Jungle is a vibrant track that utilizes elements of ragga mixed with the raw energy of breaks. It’s the perfect track for the upcoming spring / summer sessions. Critical makes his return and masterfully shows off his diverse range of sound by taking you in another direction with Watch Dis. Deep, rolling percussion, pounding bass stabs, & lashings of vocal snippets take you to the spine-tingling second break-down where the glitched-out beats build into sonic ecstasy before the tune tears back out towards its climatic end. After the success of Pure Beam (Waveshape003), Anti-Science & Youthful Implants collaborate again for the third track on this EP and this time the results are devastating! Ethereal, voccoded vocals, infectious snaking synth lines and a bouncing bassline, All 4 You is the epitomy of peak-time, adrenalin-fueled breaks that will demolish any dancefloor! The final track provides an alternate mix of Ceos & Anti-Science's Good Morning You Mongrels which was released earlier this year on Downbeat Productions. The Waveshape Mix provided here takes the tune and melds it into another sort of beast with glitchier, snycopated drum grooves, new blistering basslines and a break down that will have everyone's hands in the air!
