APORN002
Shimon & Matrix : Slipstream / Dirty : Audio Porn : 12"

"Slipstream" is a deep and soulful hit with a twisting, turning bass line. itís destined to destroy festivals worldwide and is already recieving plays from the likes of Sub Focus, High Contrast, Andy C, Hype, Moving Fusion and of course, Shimon and Matrix. On the flip is "Dirty 5th", a perfect blend of techie sounds with funky, stabby synths. Itís a stomper that's sure to appeal to those who like their D&B high energy with an emphatic climax!

BS1015
Kubiks : Mindwatcher (Heist Rmx) / No Return : BS1 : 12"
Wham, bam, thank ya Maam. BS1 is back to get some dancefloors jumpin’. The tool on this occasion is the knockout remix of Kubiks’ ‘Mindwatcher’ by none other than producer of the moment; Heist. It bobbles, it punches, it ducks and it weaves - all the while doing what Heist and Kubiks do best - that is, creating great tracks wrapped in a slick production style that will sound bigger than most other tunes out there. ‘No Return’ is of equal class. In typical BS1 Records tradition the B Side is designed to last. This timeless classic is one of Kubiks’ most poignant pieces. Lush pads, filtered strings and vocal stabs of the ethereal variety ensure that irrespective of what destruction you’ve caused with the A - Side, you’ve got something to soothe the soul with this defined piece. BS1 015 - Joining the fight against music terrorism.

CLIMATE002
SAFIRE : SHADOWS / DREAM CARRIER : CLIMATE : 12"
As valuable to his scene as the stone he shares his name with is in general, safire steps up to supply both sides of climate recordings 2nd single. shadows is definitely for the dancefloor, but at the same time certainly aint too simple or straight forward. The nagging reece bassline builds and layers of percussion are added to the mix as time passes. The pucussion is more predominate and persuasive in the flipside which subsequently rollsa almost relentlessly, and would if not for nifty drum switches throughout. A solid debut single form safire.

DREADUK009
Dark Soldier : Dark Soldier (Vapour Rmx) / Dark Soldier (Bladerunner Rmx) : Dread : 12"
LIMITED TO 1000 UNITS on ORANGE VINYL. For those of you that remember the original orange label this has been remixed courtesy of Vapour and 36 Chambers and by the Dread camp's very own Bladerunner and is available on a ltd edition orange clear plastic vinyl. DJ Vapour has reworked this classic dance floor banger and brought it up to date with his own unique style that he is becoming increasingly notorious for. He has incorporated the beefy bassline with some super slick beats and hard hitting rhythms making this remix a modern day classic.  This tune is killing it in the clubs and is enjoying support from the likes of Randall, Kenny Ken and Lemon D to name a few. Bladerunner's remix is very close to the original and has been smashing dancefloors up and down the country from the likes of Ray Keith, Dread head Honcho and Nicky Blackmarket. This new version will definitely indulge the next generation of budding djs and ravers and reach a new audience and remember, this tune is 13 years old.

DTS001
NUMEK : GHOST ST / CARDIAC LESION : DESTROY THIS SYSTEM : 12"
The darkness falls as Numek brings us two dark destroyers.  Both tunes have heavy drum and bass amen breaks, laced with gabba kicks and booming, driving sub bass.  Guaranteed to make crowds go  wild.  Fans of the breakcore scene will not be disappointed with these two offerings!

DVP009
MIXMASTER DOC : UMPTEEN TIMES / DREAMS : DIVERSE PRODUCTS : 12"
For the ninth offering from the sister label to Nu Directions, Diverse Products, comes two masterpieces from Mixmaster Doc.  The A side features shuffling breaks paired with a low  wobble style, bristol bass line, which make this track a true stepper.  For the AA, melodic chords flow effortlessly through the intro, until the heavy analog bass and skippy, steppy breaks kick in.  Fans of the deeper sounds will love this offering.

GRIDUK021
V/A : Fat Like Your Mum Vol. 1 : Grid : 2x12"
What do you get if you mix four of the scenes hottest producers with a playground insult? An EP that packs more punch than Joe Calzaghe! Twisted assembles four Grid regulars all charged with bringing some serious no nonsense dancefloor action for Grid UKs 21st release. It's fat, like Your Mum! Zen steps up first with his reworking of his 2006 track "Break Even", previously a VIP only in the boxes of the top flight, countless posts in forums and general pestering online has lead to this making its way onto wax. A paranoid, frantic intro leads on to a stomping growler in classic Zen style. Dubalty makes his debut on Grid with "Bandit" a fresh slice of jump up mayhem. A deceptively calming intro with light percussion and lush pads switches into a bassline call and response workout which twists and turns throughout, but keeps the proceedings decisively grimey. With two angry numbers making up the first half of this collection, Twisted steps up and brings some more rolling flavours on "Bring the House Down". A title with double meanings (forum regulars will know the background here!) this track has a catchy high pitched riff over the intro which slides into a naughty Twisted bline with the echoing vocals 'we're gonna explode', expect a similar reaction in the clubs! Man of the moment Heist rounds things off with his sc-fi inspired "UFO Watch" another rolling number, but again with the dancefloor firmly in its sights. Support for these tracks has come from Hype, Nicky Blackmarket, Ruffstuff, Grooverider and many more!

INT005
Rogue Soul / Syncopix : Be With You / Footage : Integral : 12"
Be With You" by Rogue Soul is a big club track thats been getting support from Hype, Bukem, Marky, Bryan G, Bailey and a host of others. Syncopix's "Footage" on the other side is more of a homage to the classic Bristol/Full Cycle sound - its all about the bassline. Daytime playlisted on BBC 1Xtra.

VSN005

Noisia : Collision EP : Vision : 2x12"
One of the most spoke of D&B formations is back with a double pack that's one of the most spoke of projects since their collaboration with Mayhem and KRS-One. They're taking the word collaboration to the next level with this spectacular "Collision EP". Four tracks made by Noisia colliding with other heavyweight formations from across the globe! The opener is "Cannonball", it starts off as one giant drumroll and then turns into a dancefloor roller that just "stays classy" everywhere you play it! For the second track Noisia collabs with Black Sun Empire to bring real 100% Dutch flavor to the floor. "Infusion" is a track that takes his inspiration from the Negative camp but blended to perfection by these two grand masterminds of music. The second plate brings a tune that sounds alot like Ram Trilogy's classic "Titan" but your ears deceive you in this one- it's none other then a collab by Noisia & The Upbeats with a track titled "Mudslide"! It's heavy, it's bad, it pounds, it flows- it's just one of those records that cant be beaten! The closer is another collab by Noisia & Phace called "Levitation", this roaring production shows what this scene is all about- heavy beats combined with sick reeces and a neurotic funk that you just cant get your hands on! Again Noisia delivers proper quality with this slamming EP- this is one Collision you just cant wait to feel!

SHB003
N.Phect : The Sphere / Ultraviolet : Shady Brain : 12"
The third Shady Brain vinyl sees an old comrade ringing the bell of madness. N.Phect has always been a major influence to the label by releasing various tunes on labels like Subtitles and Renegade Hardware . From the beginning it is clear what "The Sphere" is all about. A dark industrial atmosphere and beats sharp like a razor prepare the listener for a midrange driven tech-funk smasher full of terrifying noises, all together flowing along with a heavy subbase groove. "Ultraviolet" starts with a horror vibe shivering down the spine. anyone who has heard the drop will know tahst this tune is not about compromise. it delivers straight and direct! Both tunes have received heavy DJ support from the likes of Calyx, Phace, Chris SU, Misanthrop, Cause4Concern, State Of Mind, Vicious Circle, The Upbeats, Counterstrike, Psidream, Axiom and more.

TACTV002
Tactile & Hydro & Munk / Spinline & Hydro : Existenz / Chain Reaction : 12"
"Existenz" is a blazing collision between ancient and modern. As the tribal horns’ roar sneaks in, a tidal wave of percussion breaks and enters. In this sonic storm, the refined rhythms spiked with metallic hits accompanied by striking subs and stabs guarantee an overwhelming experience and a fair amount of ambience. The butterfly effect, when a low-key intro escalates to havoc by a "Chain Reaction," is now encapsulated in one really genuine track. It is condition red indeed: the pitched alarm signals and the explosive drum beat prepares the arrival of a twisted synth motif that will, most definitely, haunt the dance floors world wide. DJ plays Klute, Bailey, Break, Loxy, Mathematics, SKC Chris.SU among others.

WG001
Warren G ft. Nate Dogg : Regulate (D&B Vocal Mix) / Regulate (D&B Dub Mix) : Unknown : 12"
Sourcing and expertly chopping up Michael McDonald’s 1975 masterpiece ‘Keep Forgettin’ (better known as the hook from Regulate), this cheeky little white label offers you both vocal and instrumental versions - and it’s set to be one of the biggest bootlegs of 2008! Here’s what some people have had to say… “On paper, a drum & bass remix of Warren G and Nate Dogg’s hip-pop classic sounds like an idea destined to be filed away in the cheese archive… So we’ve ignored the full vocal version and opted for the great dub version on the flip. Complete with hustling diatribe and those classic Michael McDonald Fender Rhodes licks - this works REALLY well…” (Mixmag) ”Someone beat me to it with that Regulate remix - ya bastards! Just started one a few months ago...but this pisses on my version anyway!…” (Logistics – Hospital Records) ”Another mighty work from one of soulful D&B’s most respected producers. Am loving your work! …”(John B – Metalheadz / Beta Recordings).

Dissident : Pleuromeia / Universe Eat Universe / Oneirod Psychosis : Subtle Audio : 12"
Finish copy promo. It’s time to shine the Subtle Audio spotlight on Russian producer Dissident. Despite the paucity of releases to his name, we believe this guy to be one of the most exciting talents to make Drum & Bass in recent times. The sound spectrum of this release includes the (dubstep inspired?) kicks and snares of the upbeat “Plueromeia”, the eerie “Universe Eat Universe” (as played by Bailey on BBC1) and the paranoia of “Oneiroid Psychosis”. Certainly one of the most diverse releases on this imprint to date, we hope you dig the range of moods and styles on offer. You can see a full length video for “Universe Eat Universe” at www.myspace. com/subtleaudiorecordings. 12UNSV02
The WrongStars : Bring You Down / Give It To Them : Unstable
Bring you Down (Affinty Remix): The original Bring you Down will feature on the forthcoming album from The Society and is a guitar heavy mosh pit roller of a tune. We didn’t want to scare people to much on only our second release so decided to to get one of Hardcore Beats finest Affinty, to come in and create a remix monster for us. There is no doubting that’s  exactly what he has done. Rolling beats and big synth’s along with the original guitar and vocal make this tune an absolute fucking belter. With worldwide plays already under its belt from all the Unstable and Hardcore Beats crews this tune is going to do damage... Give it to them: Give it to them is all about The Wrongstars taking it back to the dancefloor. Steppa beats, guitar licks and a Distorted bassline = utter carnage. When we first played this out a bloke was dancing so fast on top of a speaker he fell off. Oh and by the way yesssssss we know the vocal sample has been used before but fuck it, it works and thats all that matters  Freakshow: Ever had one of those days where every thing goes wrong and you need to go home put a tune on and release some of that pent up anger. Ladies and Gentlemen this will be that tune. A disgusting live bass and filthy beats roll out whilst Mooretime spits hell fire all thru the track. One of the slower highlights from the forthcoming album and already getting big reactions from national radio stations..

CFUNK033
Quest & Eskmo : Speakers Corner / Speakers Corner (Sunchase Rmx) : Cyberfunk : 12"
Straight off Quest & Odissi's "Expedition to Planet Zog" album, this collaboration by Quest and Eskmo is a true representation of the driving and technical sound that Cyberfunk Recordings is known for. The track is based around a raw and powerful vocal about the "information revolution" which was the result of a sampling trip to Londonís famous "Speaker's Corner" in Hyde Park. Not only a fresh, phenomenal and timeless piece of music thanks to the deep and always innovative talents of two of the scenes most respected bassline scientists, but this is a track with a serious message as well that all listeners should take note of.The flip sees a remix by none other than one of Eastern Europe's hottest property in DnB, Sunchase, a name synonymous with such labels as Moving Shadow, Dsci4, Hostile and Citrus. As expected, Sunchaseís dark, twisted and techy production style takes the concept laid out by Quest & Eskmo in the original to another level that DJs such as Friction and Ed Rush have already played and seen for themselves.

DISNT177
Hybrid : Finished Symphony Remixes : Distinctive : 12"
As part of this autumns rapturously received Hybrid Remixed CD album, the Finished Symphony mixes inevitably stirred up the greatest demand. The Deadmau5 mix, with its epic, floor destroying sweeps and driving rhythms has been in the Beatport top five for a month, leaving the vinyl buyers crying out for a 12" release. Hot new electro housers Deadsets tweaky funk and and sparing use of the strings makes for a more restrained but no less powerful outing, whilst Boomjinx re-introduce breaks to proceedings whilst adding lush layers of instrumentation that will be both familiar and welcome to Hybrids large core following. With a new album due for the second half of 2008, FS Remixed is a timely reminder of the power and reach of one of the UKís most enduring electronic acts of the last decade.

MENU010
Jay Stewart : Don : t do it / Rico Tubbs Rmx : Menu
Menu is back like florescent shell suits, with a Banger from that man that made sweat look cool, Jay Stewart. Don’t Do It has been doing the business for the menu head Honcho’s all last summer, and now they are ready to bless the great unwashed with another secret weapon from their personal collection. You may remember Mr Stewart from 2006, with his Anthem I’m Crazy, You’re crazy. Dopemine’s remix was nominated for Best remix at the 2007 Breakspoll awards. On the flip we have The Rico Tubbs re-fix. Rico works his finish magic, and pulls on his hybrid house gloves and splash’s his trademark bass lines all over your face. Don’t ask, just listen. Massive!! This remix is a great taster for what is to come from Mr Tubbs. Just one word…. Gangsters, then another word…. Album. You have been warned.

Mowgli : Get Down./Minimow mix : Mantra
Blatta & Inesha: a trained jazz musician with an uncommon sense of experimenting (Blatta) and a turntablist extraordinaire with a twice Italian DMC champion pedigree (Inesha)! They are  the hottest dj duo out of Sicily right now!!! they met Mantra Breaks when the  label fell in love with their first release titled 'Enter The Dragon'  and 'Catania Is Burning'. Immediately they catalyzed attention on them. Afterwards they came out then with 'Italian Stallion Go to Rio', 'Botafogo', 'Afraid' and 'Funk Siciliano'...the perfect curriculum to arrive to their first ever compilation titled 'MAD in SICILY' Electrobreaks From The Party Island released at the beginning of 2007 and inspired by their successfully monthly night at Mercati Generali in Catania. Thanks to the dirty electro-breaks sound they pushed through Mantra Breaks and their party night Mad in Sicily they started to generate a genuine buzz worldwide. Their fresh electro style conquered the tastes all around the world. They flew to Japan to play MANTRA HALLOWEEN PARTY at Womb along with mantra fellows Santos and Madox; they were called by BBC Radio 1 on Annie Nighntgale show to do a guest mix which was then judged as one of the best in the past year. They are on fire and " I WAS A PUNK / MORE BASS ON HER FACE" is no exception: Electroy house fused with punk attitude at his beast!!!!Big support from BBC1 radio one (played in Annie Nightingale and Pete Tong Shows)

Wicked Lester : 007 No.1&2 : Splank
For the last 4 years Splank! have been supplying the breakbeat & electro goodness, featuring tracks and remixes from artists including Moston & Malente, Drumattic Twins, Strider, Darftphunk and Stupid Fresh as well as label honcho’s Groove Allegiance. As our taste’s begin to diversify evermore so it seemed the appropriate time to kick start our sister label, providing something completely different with Splank! 7’s. A 7” label dedicated to downtempo, funk, northern soul and b-boy breaks, citing massive inspiration from the like’s of MPM, Freestyle, Lefties Soul Connection, The New Master Sounds, Joynt Sounds and Homebreakin’ Records.  The first release is courtesy of Canada’s Wicked Lester. Having worked previously with labels like Bigfoot, Funk Weapons, Freddy Fresh’s Howlin’, Twenty Hz, Hairkarate and Innvision, they drop 2 very different versions of ‘007’. The first one utilizes an old skool funk break, warm synth bass, quirky Rhodes stabs and subtle keys. Whilst the 2nd interpretation takes a very different approach, with bossa-esque drum rhythms, off-kilter percussion ,soundtracky vibes and subtleness in the arrangement, it’s the perfect accompaniment to being in a basement club working up a sweat on the floor.

TR006
Rougestate : Can : t take the pressure / MI.Loki rmx : Tricksta
The 6th release from Tricksta Recordings sees our fellow Sheffield producer-ite, Rogue State take on old skool reggae singer U Brown. Fast making his name in the dubstep scene with releases on his own R8 Records imprint, this is [we think] an awesome example of where the genre could go, combining pacey, skippy beats with dubby etherealness. On the flip, we've given it a darker, breakier edge. Check it out!!

Napt Ft Mc Skibadee : The Rollers / Intergalactic : Wsub Frequency Funk : 12"
Fresh from their brand new underground studio complex in the heart of central London NAPT come up with the perfect 2-shot N-Funkular follow up to the much hyped CONTRAST SERIES. After the huge success of “Get Back” ft MC Skibadee NAPT once again draft in the worlds’ most popular MC for the big room banger entitled “The Rollers”. After being caressed in the intro by all manner of swirly classic acid house riffs and fractured samples the track breaks down into a half time 808 and finger snap workout. Skiba provides the perfect chopped up vocal loop informing us that it is now time for the underground and sure enough it is as the track launches into pure bass line feedback back filth over a percussion filled boom-thwack clap break. Add some wailing crack monkey banshees, some alien reformed funk loops and more bleeps and once again the N-Funk sound reigns supreme! On the flip NAPT provide a serious 4am heads down roller with a massive kick in the tail, entitled “Intergalactic”. Classic sub frequency funk bass line riffs soon give way to a blow your head off futuristic orchestral hip hop drop out with cool-as-you-like speech from a familiar voice. The main bass line riff is driving guitar amp disco fuel over the punchiest big ass live recorded drums (yes kids this is BREAKBEAT). After the bass line has been put through the ringer and various chopped up space flight soundscapes have flown through, the track breaks down and finally lets the funk free with a baseline that sound like Bootsy Collins riding a rhino.

CHST002
Distance : Feel Me / Battle Sequence : Chestplate : 12"
Distance was inundated with requests for certain tracks to be released on the second installment and it is impossible that "Feel Me" and "Battle Sequence" will disappoint. The release is an essential addition to the boxes of any discerning Dubstep fan or DJ. Alongside contemporaries like Benga, Skream, Pinch and Digital Mystikz, Distance has been responsible for shaping the Dubstep sound as we know it today. With Chestplate he intends to showcase the freshest of his own productions which have been devastating dances and flooring radio listeners over the recent months. The two tracks featured on the release have been firm favourites in his live sets and on his Rinse FM show, garnering major support from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, Hatcha, Pinch, Chef and Cyrus along the way. "Battle Sequence" sees Distance exercising his darker side. It is a metallic stomper with lethally programmed precision percussion, full of low end gnarl and stray feedback squeals. On the flip, "Feel Me" reflects Distance’s lighter side. With a suggestive female vocal sample and motorik drum patterns, the track skips along amidst ring modulated synths and subtle low slung, pulsating bass. CHESTPLATE 002 undoubtedly features two of Distance’s best tracks to date.

DRUNK006
Forsaken / Peverelist : Boat Noodles / Erstwhile Rhythm (Forsaken Rmx) : Punch Drunk : 12"
Having recently been featured on Mary Anne Hobbs Breezeblock Radio 1 show and Peverelist’s New York City Dub War podcast, Forsaken’s ‘Boat Noodles’ is the sixth release on Bristol’s Punch Drunk label. Mary Anne Hobbs ‘Boat Noodles captures the essence of Shanghai at night’ Emotive Asian flavours and rolling sub bass gives Boat Noodles cross genre appeal. The flip features the Forsaken interpretation of Peverelist’s ‘Erstwhile rhythm’ track which was originally on the second Punch Drunk release back in February 2007, ‘taking the original in new directions (Blackdown). Skippy 2 step beats, deep bass and signature Forsaken melodic vibes see 2007 out in style for Punch Drunk.

HFT001
Nyabingi : Bionicle / Shamanu (Japanese Wolf) : Hotflush Two : 12"
Rising from the ashes of Hotflush's now discontinued side-label Scuba, comes the first release on a renewed imprint, Hotflush Two. It presents two new tracks produced by Nyabingi, aka Vicious MC of London's Slaughter Mob. Rough, metallic synths permeate through 'Bionicle', while in 'Shamanu (Japanese Wolf)' the sharply sequenced drum patterns remain, yet with a deeper bassline and strangely wonky scratch samples, more reminiscent of his previous Hotflush release, 'Belgium Chocolate' / 'Cannibal Run'.

SQR001
Ital Tek  : Deep Pools / Shadow Sun / Weave (ft Anneka) : Square : 12"
The first release on the new Brighton label, Square Records, sees Ital tek move into deeper more reflective territory than his previous material on Planet Mu with a beautifully crafted ep of sumptuous dubstep sounds. The title track sets the mood with warm pulsating rhythms and haunting piano over a deliciously thick sub-bass that drags the listener under. Its a mellow piece that exudes a calm energy, perfect for dancefloor and bedroom alike.Harking back to the Bloodline ep on Planet Mu, "Shallow Sun" is a ripping, industrial number with it's shattering percussion and diving basslines tearing through the darkness. Sure to be a dance floor killer this is truly heavyweight stuff. The last track, Ital Tek's first with a vocalist, is a lush dubstep soundscape fusing sublime eastern melodies with deeply layered vocals. Anneka's voice perfectly compliments the playful instrumentation whilst crisp percussion keeps everything in place. Look out for future releases from this talented young lady. Watch out for future releases from Milanese and many others!

STORM013
Dubchild : Mount Zion (Distance Rmx) / Take Me (Reso Rmx) : Storming : 12"
Mount Zion (Distance Rmx): The first wave of Dub Child remix's sees Distance take on the mighty Mount Zion, and he well and truly lives up to the challenge. ‘Dirt’ is the only word to describe Distance’s onslaught of distorted bass and hard hitting break beat drums. Fans of the usual Distance mayhem won’t be disappointed; a pure filth bucket of a remix right here! Take Me (Reso Rmx): Reso comes with a absolute stonker of a remix here, absolutely mind blowing production as this ultra talented producer shows off once again why he is becoming one of the most sought after programmer’s at the minute. Luscious pads and smooth vocals gives you the sense calm atmosphere before the storm; before sharp beats and a vicious bassline crash in, to devastating effect.
