Dillinja : Soul Control / Unexplored Terrain : V Recordings : 12"
Next in the series of classic V Records releases pairs up two killers from the bass scientist Dillinja. `Soul Control' and `Unexplored Terrain' are both taken from the long deleted `V Classic' vinyl album, one of the first massive underground drum & bass label compilations which in it's day was groundbreaking and featured the cream of the drum & bass artists.

HWARE05
V/A : `Detrimental' EP  : Renegade Hardware : 2x12"
Kicking things off comes a massive stepper from one of the scenes longest players. It's Spirit who brings the A side and title track with his trademark sound of militant dirty b-lines, delaying atmospheres and effects all rounded up perfectly with a precise mixdown and dancefloor orientated mood. An excellent debut release for Switzerland based Axiom, who steps up with an immense dancefloor mashup of energetic reeces, filters fx, hammering drums & thundering basslines. Look out for much more quality in coming months from this man! lEBK returns with his latest installment after the highly successful '1000 Years' on the 'Above The Game' LP. His superb use of stabs, rolling drums and bottom heavy b-line as well as the sheer quality of production places this C side firmly among the achieved. lOne of Aucklands finest, Bulletproof is no new comer to the Hardware stable. With a frantic mix of driving percussion, hypnotizing atmospheres, stomping kicks and growling basslines this stepper delivers its full potential with maximum dancefloor carnage! lKnowledge, ATM, Mixmag, IDJ, DJ Mag, Mixer (USA), URB (USA), D&B Arena, DOA, 1Extra, Fabio & Grooverider Show, Trust The DJ Internet Radio, 7 Update lA) SPIRIT - DETRIMENTAL, B) AXIOM - SOUL SCAVENGER, C) EBK - SKATTER, D) BULLETPROOF - ALIENSCREW

BEATALISTICS005
Young Ax/Hanuman Tribe : Soul Searchin/Feeling Good(Young AX RMX) : Dnb : 12"
Beatalistics / Due to his musical roots Young Ax is always “Soulsearchin’". And the Berlin based dj’s search has been succesful! There are so many soul warming vibes in this big tune with its catchy rhodes piano melody, pushed forward by a rolling beat. A true beatalistics track. We’re proud to have Ax and especially this tune on our young label. The flipside presents Ax’ remixing skillz as he ennobles Hanuman Tribe’s “Feeling Good Rewind", originally introduced on the “Hi Vitality” cd compilation (beatalistics002). The soulful stomper appears in another light after Young Ax has reworked it in his uncomparable production style.

BW30
Camo : Drop It/Play It/Hidden Edge : Basswerk : 12"
Basswerk / This is a 3-track EP by young Austrian Shooting-Star Camo featuring Krooked & Nina. While “Drop It” is probably the most demanding and uplifting Party Tune on Basswerk ever, the flip’s “Play It” and Hidden Edge” dig much deeper. Both tunes ("Play It ” & “Hidden Edge” have already been played by Grooverider on his BBC Radio-Show several times!” “Drop it” will tear down every building and party, it comes with typical Camo-Style Sounds but is his most straightforward Party-Classic of all his tunes we think. If you ever play it, you’ll be totally convinced. This is waking up even the dead. “Play It” is a deep, musical, broken style D&B classic anthemn following traditions of tracks like Matrix Leafy Lane Rmx., it doesnt have the female singing though. “Hidden Edge” reaches the quality of “Kosheen” tracks - but of course is Drum & Bass. A very musical and well matching pop D&B approach featuring the voice of “Nina".

Makoto : Hurinkazan : Deepkut : 12"
Makoto first signed with LTJ Bukem's legendary Good Looking Records back in 1999. Since then he has gone from strength to strength, releasing a long string of quality music in the form of singles and EP's, but also on the famous 'Earth' and 'Progression Sessions' compilation albums. 2003 saw the release of his much anticipated debut album 'Human Elements 'this album was widely praised as the transition of 70's Soul into the 21st century. also "Progression Sessions Japan Live 2003" with Deeizm, recorded live from Space Lab Yellow in Tokyo was an absolute gem. Makoto is now ready to spread his wings. With both remixes and original music already out or set for release on labels such as Renegade Recording, Liquid V, Bingo, Hospital and Innerground as well as a second album 'Believe In My Soul' on Good Looking very soon, the future is looking bright for the Tokyo native

Commix : Faceless (Marcus Intalex Remix) : Shogun Audio : 12"
Fresh from their recently released album project on Metalheadz, the Cambridge duo are honing the freshest drum and bass sounds around. Guy Brewer and George Levings have perfected their sonic wizardry over the last 12 months, combining grinding beats with soaring melodies and irresistible grooves to devastating effect. With the original appearing on Shogun Audio in 2006, ‘Faceless’ was the perfect candidate for a rework from one of the best remixers in the scene. Marcus Intalex stepped up to the challenge, stamping his own unique, techno influenced sound on the track. ‘Solvent’ is Commix at their best. Chunky rolling drums, simple but catchy melody, and a bass line that will have the dancefloor begging for mercy. DSM004
Spectrasoul : Downtown Chicago/The Weakness : Deep Soul Music : 12"
More deep business from the deep soul music crew.  In a discernable change of direction from the emotive, deep sounds of their release on SGN:LTD, the A side presents a trademark incarnation of the devastatingly effective Spectrasoul formula; a bouncy track teeming with samples that work cohesively to create a deep sense of ambience, in turn narrated by a male vocal. An upbeat bassline runs underneath some playful percussion to finish setting the scene the track's title lends itself from; an accomplished track that's replete with imagery, we have a feeling you're gonna like this one. The flip represents an altogether more refined take on the Spectrasoul formula - an understated jazz piano lick works in tandem with quirky filtered bassline, carried along effortlessly by the addictive shuffle of the beats.

HAB010
Proktah : Labyrinth (Phace RMX)/Backfire : Have A Break : 12"
MASSIVE 12″ from German label HAVE A BREAK ! This is their 10th release & maybe the best 12″ for the label ! Always trying to give new talents a pathway to get out releases … but this time HAB010 features a remix from the mighty PHACE (Subtitles/Renegade Hardware/Syndrome) ! The a-side is called “Labyrinth” a tune produced by PROKTAH (also known as FRENCHI). The original was already a great tune , but PHACE steps up to rmx this one into a neurofunk monster ! Deep, Spacey & Futuristic - a throbbing, walloping monster bass that’ll suck you down until you’re completely submerged , simply trademark PHACE badness !!! Getting played from all the big names like NOISIA, TEEBEE & CALYX etc… this tune is also featured on the latest NOISIA mix ! On the flip we have “Backfire” from PROKTAH ! He hits us with his ultra clean, loud production, sick bass & rolling beats … Best release for this new talent ! Watch out for forthcoming stuff on FLIGHT REC. & BASSWERK digital !!! 2008 will be his breakthrough - trust us !!! INTREC008
Current Value : The Edge Of The Cliff / Dark Rain : Intransigent : 12"
Having taken on this label from the ninth release.  Due to popular demand comes the repress and boy, Current Value supplies the ammunition.  Metallic sounding drums reign supreme, while heavily distorted basslines with a gritty edge aid this track to be a hard hitter from the word go.  The AA has a smooth melodic intro until the things take a turn to the nasty side. Sweet vocals provide contrast with the dark twisted amen breaks.  This track keeps the interest going when it switches to an electro 4/4 section before brutally releasing the destructive amen breaks.

NZ001
State Of Mind / Trei : True Stories : Samurai Music : 12"
‘True Stories’ – Sauntering in with a displaced but familiar swagger, trademark beats roll into a plucked guitar funkism and the vocal that drifts over the top subtley delivering the tracks title. The drop stutters to a peak and gives way to an almighty neuro bassgrind that never becomes too over bearing but does the job extremely effectively. The result of this genius collaboration sits stylistically somewhere between Ed Rush & Optical’s classic ‘Bacteria’ and Noisia’s ‘Concussion’. Add a scuba diving second breakdown with teeth, and you have a massive hit on New Zealand student radio, currently sitting at number 3 on the national alternative chart. ‘Lonely Planet’ – A menacing tone sets the pace for the sci fi wind up with distant ‘huh’s’ yelling at the quivering robotic vocal that anchors the tune. Rolling drums pause for a moment to unleash the sub heavy bassline accentuated by uneasy percussion and other world mutterings and effects, while a distorted lead sparingly lifts the track as its bassline does all the work. Fans of the lads ‘Back to The Jungle’ will definitely be ready for a trip to the ‘Lonely Planet’

NU12040
Mosus : Heavier Than Heaven / Water Gate : Nu Directions
After the success of 12 on Nu Directions by Baby Origami, one half of Baby Origami, Mosus from V Recordings, brings two nice deep rollers.  The first of these is a true stepper.  Crispy beats and bad boy bass make this a true roller.  The AA has a slightly different feel.  Powerful kicks and snare are paired with heavy analog sub stabs as it comes down heavier than hell.

PRSPCTEP001
Various Artists : Future Filth EP : Prspct : 2X12"
PRSPCT Recordings proudly presents the "Future Filth EP" A very strong double pack loaded with the rawest Drm&Bass around. The EP kicks off with a monstrous collaboration between Counterstrike and Eye-D entitled "The Grind". A monster filled with filth that makes you want to grind your teeth on the streets. On the flip Catacomb unleashes "Gut Wrench" a nasty futuristic crawler with an actual gut-wrenching bassline powered by running hard-edged catabeats. "Last Call" is Limewax at his best. Amazing edits, creepy basslines, mental subs and complete darkness. Finishing off the EP is "Joshua's War". Pure filthy Dutch tech created in the Goes- Noord studios by PRSPCT family members Eye-D & Hidden. Support comes from Audio, Evol Intent, Tech Itch, Dylan, John B, Black Sun Empire and more. a Counterstrike & Eye-D - The Grind b Catacomb - Gut Wrench c Limewax - Last Call d Eye D & Hidden - Joshua’s War

Physics / Qumulus : Release Your Soul / Believe In You : Telluric : 12"
The A side features nice smooth keys that flow effortlessly through the intro whilst backed by crispy rollin beats.  The track continues on the liquid tip, this is one for all the Bukem fans.  For the AA Qumulus brings his tight production in the style you’ve come to expect from him.  Nice tight drums, booming bass, and the odd vocal snippet all combine to bring this tune together and make it one for all the heads.

WST015
Maelstrom : Makossa b/w Drummatic Twins Remix  : West Records : 12"
Maelstrom is quite simply the greatest French breakbeat producer of our time. From his early beginnings he showed a knack tracks with for producing quality great hooks. Now, with a little experience behind him, he's beginning to pump out enormous tune after enormous tune. His remix on the last West Records release raised eyebrows for its house direction fused with aggressive dirty noises. However, Makossa sees a return to his funkier edge and sits perfectly on the A side of this latest West release. Look forward to Maelstroms album due to drop early part of next year on West. The guys brought in for the remix need little introduction. Countless hits on Fingerlickin' and a stream of amazing remixes have seen the Drummatic Twins rise to the top of the breakbeat tree.  They are brilliant, both in production and DJing and their remix of Makossa has added something special to the flip of this latest release.

NHS132
Danny Byrd : Shock Out / Labyrinth : Hospital : 12"
Raise your lighters up in the air for this massive oldskool lash out - Danny Byrd is back - and bringing you amazing new music, reminiscent of a time before jump up was a dirty word! All the elements are here - tinkling pianos, pitched up vocals - and mighty West Country bass sounds - but it’s the incredible rhythm track is courtesy of Danny’s akai S5000 dexterity which makes this track a killer. This breakbeat  wizardry is a labour of love - not the result of some plug-ins and computer trickery. and you can hear it in the results. Shock out is already becoming an anthem across the board, not only with fans of oldskool and choppage, but with the mainroom destroyers like Andy C all jumping on board. "Labyrinth" on the flip is unadulterated Byrd euphoria. Simultaneously as deep as you like, but with the energy and drive to keep the floor packed, it’s a magical combo. The Byrdman sets out his stall for a massive year in 2008. Don’t Sleep.

BETA019
John B : Mr Freud / Red Sky : Beta : 12"
John Bs first solo single since last years critically acclaimed electro drum & bass album Electrostep. ‘Electrostep is quite simply the most breathtakingly personal album by a drum & bass artist since New Forms.’ Knowledge ‘If you buy one drum & bass album this year, make it this’ Album of the month, iDJ ‘If only all D&B albums were like this’ DJ Magazine lMr. Freud has already had 160,000 plays on John B’s Myspace player, and is John B back at his best, fusing hard D&B beats with luxurious trancey strings, a heavy electrohouse-influencd B-line, and sleazy electroclash-style vocals & roboVocoders. Its a dirty beast, a stand-out electrohouse-meets-D&B anthem, refreshingly different and another John B-designed genre-busting new direction for D&B. lRed Sky brings John back to the epic Trance & Bass style he pioneered with hits like ‘Up all Night’ & ‘Electrofreek!’ but with an updated production style for 2008. Shaz Sparks beautiful vocals compliment the fluid, euphoric trance  textures. Grand piano & huge anthemic pads that Armin Van Buuren would be proud of are contrasted by a  monstrous, grimey racecar reese bassline and heavy neurofunk groove, still smashing it in a DJ-friendly Drum & Bass framework.

TDPV001
Raiden & Temper D : False Alarm : Disturbed : 12"
Finish copy promo. A Side ‘False Alarm’ is a truly minimal roller. Built around ever changing percussive parts, the track is underpinned by constantly filtering and delaying snare rolls. Influenced by Plastikman’s huge techno anthem Spastik, the track builds steadily, using Raiden’s trademark 808 stabs and carefully designed soundscape, typical of his production ability. SIDE AA – Temper D - Superstar Dickhead: Originally signed by Raiden to Offkey Recordings, Temper decided to bring out his solo track ‘Superstar Dickhead’ on his own label instead. As always there is noticeable techno influence in the Jeff Mill’s style Detroit synth stabs, but this time with a catchy and accessible hook common to Temper D’s productions over the years. The production is as always stripped down, allowing a simple but thumping two step to drive the track along, topped with skittering top end percussion.Anyone lucky enough to have witnessed Raiden’s live set, or any recent Counterstrike, Chris Su or even Blu Mar Ten set can testify to the huge reaction ‘False Alarm’ has been getting from the dancefloor, and ‘Superstar Dickhead’ is the perfect antidote to the noisey side of techno dnb. If you were at the first airing of the tune at Therapy Sessions in London, you know the score. a Raiden & Temper D - False Alarm b Raiden & Temper D - Superstar Dickhead

His productions have got style, quirk, personality and a good portion of oomph.  700ft came out on a small net label some 6 months ago and created a bit of a stir, so much in fact that we felt it needed to come out on vinyl. lThe Carbon Community remix from the original release is included and we've enlisted the help of US electronica dons Skeetaz and our very own Beta to step up the remixes to make one hot package. lThe original release was supported by a cross the board selection of djs and with the addition of these new remixes, more will follow.

Compound One : The Phonecall : Compound : 12"
Fracture and Qualifide are proud to bring you the second piece of Compound One wax, hot off the presses! Compound One #2 sees the release of Fracture's long awaited The Phonecall, with its eerie stalker vibes, skunk-infested old skool breaks, and filthy, cavernous bassline. The bassline pressure intensifies on the flip side with Look Shook, which sees Fracture and Qualifide re-bonding as Compound One. A deceptively minimal intro gives way to a havoc-inducing bassline switch up… bound to cause wreckage! Both tracks have had extensive play from the likes of Distance, Scientist, Slimzee, Appleblim, slaughter mob, Headhunter, and Scuba to name a few... Grab them while you can! HF018
Boxcutter : Philly : Hotflush : 12"
Boxcutter makes the kind of weighty productions that share the broad appeal of Burial or Vex'd, while keeping one foot firmly planted in the more melodic, electro-centred margins of the genre. Packed with gritty bass, glitched-up beats and all manner of multi-layed furies, he first roused the dubstep community's appetite in 2005 with 12"s on Hotflush and Planet Mu, as well as a debut LP that is due to be followed up this winter. A true heavyweight of the scene, the incredibly inventive and original Boxcutter sound continues to defy expectations. For the latest Hotflush 12", Boxcutter delivers yet again two fantastic tracks from his array of sounds. On the Aside is 'Philly', a jazzier number with an syncopated assault of crisp drums, as featured on Hotflush's compilation CD 'Space and Time'. It is backed with 'Endothermic', a tune drifting more on the laid-back side, with dazzling warm synths and a deep bassline. a Boxcutter
