Following the
huge success of "Two Girls" by Alison Tara, the Dirty Trick label
returns to the scene with another scorcher for the underground heads. For the
newest release on this promising new label, Marko Militano, (half of production
duo Trademarq with stunning releases on Bananza, Dot Bleep, Uniform, Inuendo,
and Mother Tongue) steps up to the plate only to hit it out of the park. After
handing out CDRs of "Turning Leaves" at the Winter Music Conference
2006, all the players in the scene were hawking him for it. Since the
conference, this track has been getting major rotation from DJ Heather, Fred
Everything, Justin Long, Diz, The Sound Republic, John Larner, Miss Honey Dijon
and Slum Science, who are already canning it as "an instant classic".
Listening to "Turning Leaves" automatically conjures up visions of
Recloose's deepest works meeting the relentless swinging beats of Chi-Towns
finest having a conversation with Iz & Diz's classic "Mouth." The
track effortlessly incorporates jacking drums with rhythmically manipulated
vocal snippets, old school NY piano phrasing, & a teched out bouncing
bassline that continually builds the tension for pure dancefloor enjoyment. On
the remix treatment is the mysterious NY producer The Good Guy, who turns in
two separate burners. "The Good Guy on Dubs" mix certainly lives up
to that. The listener is immersed into a lush world of dubbed out floating
synth stabs & lethargic piano meanderings as the bassline dives into late
night territory. But never fear losing la la land, those drums still demand
plenty of attention. The real trick here is "The Good Guy's Angry At The
World Mix". This so called "Good Guy" places us in a dirty
warehouse adding grit to the track reminiscent of Prescription & Peacefrog
releases with a touch of Dubsided low end grime. Watch out for this one. The
Good Guy says he is "here to do evil doers no good! This town needs an
enema!"

Red Head
The career of RedHead, real name Steve Vangilbergen, started in 1992, when an
early interest for electronic music became a real passion. He became a resident
in a local club, where he met Marco Bailey. A productive and creative team was
born and this duo became famous for their hard and loopy techno releases. In 2000,
RedHead released his first solo record and many other releases on different
labels followed. In june 2002 his full album release Dragon and Sword came out
and in 2004 he had the honour to produce the I love Techno anthem. In 2005 he
started his own label, Red Factory Recordings. Meanwhile, he played at parties
all over the world, like for example in Brazil, Japan, Sweden, Malta, Ibiza,
Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Poland, France, Holland, Spain, Portugal,
Slovenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Germany and Turkey. He also played on big festivals
like I Love Techno (2002 2003 - 2004), Nature One, Rave on Snow, Awakenings,
Mayday Budapest, Decibel and In Qontrol. After travelling around for several
years, RedHead felt it was Time for a Change and an evolution to more
elektro-orientated music, with a touch of minimal, took place. The music
RedHead plays nowadays is hard to define, but he likes to describe it as
electronic music with a soul.

and San Paulo.
GREG KOBE real name Grzegorz Ochman was born on the1 may 1981. He cames from
Poland from little city called Kalwaria Zebrzydowska. He is bound up with music
from his early childhood. At the age of 10 he took up piano lessons. At the age
of 15 he started to play on the electric guitar. He was taught by the one of
the greatest guitar players in the country, Robert Pieculewicz, who also taught

called Kalwaria Zebrzydowska. Through the period of his secondary school He

create electronic music from house, techno and first of all breakbeat. In age
21 San Paulo with Greg Kobe established their first Break Beat project called
:Pharmacy Of Sound and they Started to play Live acts in Poland. Style of
P.O.S. is simply to recognize: Breakbeat/neo electro monster. Fat beats , funky
bass lines and rockin melodies and slashed up samples. They also make music on

on Berlin's label Playmate, Helmut Dubnitzky continues his ride to success and
stops by Martin Eyerer's label Session Deluxe. Again his concise sound invites
you immediately to the dancefloor, you're going to see yourself groove to his
minimalistic sound but the main theme is truly pumping and will have
everybody's instant attention. One cannot describe Hlemut Dubnitzly's sound
easily. His style is influenced by many and that's what makes him so unique.
There's alot happening in the future as well as he has releases lined up on top
labels e.g. My Best Friend. No other than Ovum's artist Tom Pooks has been
hired for remixing Dubnitzky's release. Tom has delivered a pumping, dynamic
& playful remix that will conquer the dancefloor instantly and without a
doubt. I guess thats what makes Tom so special.. no wonder Josh Wink, Laurent
Garnier or Carl Cox have his back.

EXCLUSIVE! Detroit's new "soundshift" imprint makes a stunning debut with
this intoxicating two-tracker. Opening up is the Soultek remix of Billy
Dalessandro's smashing "Don't Sleep" release (which was found in the
many sets of Dan Bell, Ame, Annie Mac & Pete Tong last month) This mix is
nothing short of brilliant and will certainly capture the hearts and sets of
all those Mathew Jonson or Loco Dice fans out there. It has a subtlety that
really creeps up on you and before you know it you're tapping your feet and
zoning out listening to the intricacies of the music. Truly minimal, there are
loads of space within the track which is somewhat similar to the original but
still a world apart, particularly in the fantastically eerie synth programming.
In the forefront of the song is the shimmering and haunting vocal loop,
"Don't Sleep" which has an almost hypnotic effect. (Think Richie
Hawtin in Closer) The melody of the title is a delicate affair which sips
cocktails in the company of some nicely chosen whirring and echoing noises. The
build is effected so subtly it verges on melancholy but halfway through a
rumbling bassline, appregiated melody and backbeat hi-hat pattern announce a
funkier escalation. It closes off in a spacey array of emissions, string plucks
and sputtering melodies which demand attention until it's mesmerizing vocal
hook closes.
The second song is a Soultek remix of soundshift's "Drifting Into View"
which we can only classify as interstellar space funk for lovers of
subconscious techno. It's hypnotic, daring and well-tempered synthesizer based
minimal arpeggio's still remain the key ingredient. Overall, this is a
beautifully balanced release with everything feeling nicely placed and well
structured. Something wicked has certainly come our way & it's name is
soundshift..... A TIP FOR ALL MINIMAL MINDED PEOPLE!

The Truesoul
imprint represents the somewhat soulful side of its owner - Adam Beyer. The
label has been responsible for releasing some fine pieces of work over the last
5 years with fine releases from the likes of Ozgur Can, Cirez D, Joel Mull and
of course Adam himself. Here, Cari Lekebusch takes up the challenge and
produces two wonderful tracks. On the A side we are treated to a wonderful deep
808 driven groove with eerie pads, neat reverses and cool cowbells that creates
a wonderful intensity. On the flip side again the deep groove is apparent with
neat vocoded vocal samples and fat bass before there is a cool break and the
main synth sound appears in the track to give it a seriously intense lift.
Again Truesoul shows that it is a label that simply never comprimises on
quality and yet again delivers a memorable piece of work.

AJimmy Stiff is one of the best techno producers out there. His material over
the last 5 years has been both energetic and groundbreaking. Both tracks are
different but equally effective. The A side is a driving edged techno cut with
its pounding kick drum and sharp percussion. The track is punctauted with
catchy synth riffs and stabs to great effect. The flip side is truly monstrous
with its dark dirty warehouse feel and fat sub bass and shuffle edits. Great,
great record.
