There were a lot of high dollar drum & bass releases that arrived this week
and we need the cash to pay for them shop on Saturday and pay Cash please
that would help us out of course we understand if you cant but I know some
of you can stop by the bank machine on the way in without any extra trouble or
cost. Thanks!
Next week is going to be pretty big as well so get your requests in. There are
some CDs available as well as some CLASSIC represses listed in the new section
(they havent been around in years!)
PS I like the format of the new list, it is SO much easier to understand and
it makes it easy for you to just walk in the store and make requests on
Saturdays.

"And now for something completely
different. A long-awaited collaboration between the two current kings of Tokyo soul.
Makoto needs no introduction, this ultra-talented prodigy of LTJ Bukem has
touched the hearts and shaken the booties of ravers worldwide with his
beautiful, melodic music, sounding like it was created in an older, purer era.
The only thing this release has in common with Spacer018 is the name Sonic and
the fact that it's been made in Tokyo, but stylistically it's a horse of a different colour.
They had great fun pulling out Makoto's Rhodes and jamming together, and the song was written in an
old-school live-recording way to get that authentic 70's feel. Both have come
from a live music background and it shows in this funky jam. But, rather than
make a straight-up Makoto sounding tune, Sonic felt it would be fun to push his
partner into making something a little heavier than he's been known for. And
hence the monstrous bassline that you see before you. This one's a floor-shaker
that is smashing it all over the world - the name describes it perfectly:

support and radio play, you can't go wrong with the feel-good factor of the
classic keys and vocals combined with the sheer, gritty energy of it.On the
flip, we have what is perhaps one of Sonic's deepest works to date. A rushing,
intense Lovesong written to his long-time companion, drum and bass music. This
one tickles your spine and covers your skin with goose-bumps. At its heart is a
kinetic roller along the lines of earlier Space works such as 'Galaxyflip',

beginning. A low, grunting bass hook swells near the break resulting in a
fierce and deep drop while soulful melodies guided by trumpets lead you trough
the progress of the track. The moment the reese bass line stars, the mood is
set for twisted dance floor action. The overall vibe of this track is a
beautiful mix of ruff and dark parts healed with a soothing touch. Believer Most possibly
one of the more minimal tunes by Saphir again, packed with deep emotional
structures and sound layout. The drum patterns are carried in such an upfront
way that it shapes the track. Subtitle rave bits bring in the diversion of this

Being around for over 2 decades, Fabio had
acquired legendary status for good reason. Starting his career as a Pirate
Radio dj in the mid 80's he has gone through genres such as Dub, Rare Groove,
Hip Hop, early House, Jungle and Drum and Bass. Its a credit to him that after
all these years he's still at the top of his game. Now known as the liquid funk
master. Fabio has single handily pioneered the Liquid Funk Drum and Bass scene
and has always stayed true to the music he loves. Always supporting new talent,
Will Miles is from Richmond, VA, USA is yet another quality signing to Fabios label. His
tunes are getting support from, LTJ Bukem, Breakage, and just to name a few.

OK009 Blu 82 - Propaganda Offkey 12" Vinyl

innocently enough by emanating haunting stings and a series of punchy breaks.
But the mood is then altered by a roaring beast of a bass line that shocks the
track towards a more sinister direction. The bass line continues to resonate
menacingly and is in danger of dominating the track. Yet Propaganda skilfully
balances this with a barrage of heavy industrial sounding breaks and beats.
After building up ferociously into an orchestrated frenzy, the track is then
expertly tamed singling out unique electronic sounds and noises. Then we make
way for a final crescendo and welcome back the roaring baselines and piercing
beats for one last slam at the senses. A definite crowd pleaser. Propaganda -
Mercenary This is a different kind of beast to Blu-82 yet is less dangerous.
The tune is slick and fast with a rock hard core which epitomises the best of
techno influenced drum and bass. It starts as it means to go on and grabs you
almost hypnotically. Its pace and structure resembles that of a demented roller
coaster which takes you on a vicious ride. The speed and ferocity of Mercenarys breaks are it s
biggest weapon and Propaganda utilises this to devastating effect. The tune
takes several twists and turns but its course remains true making it a hyped up
demon of a track perfect for any serious DJs arsenal.

Finished Copy Promo. New Zealands State of Mind finally kick off their eagerly awaited imprint in fine
style. Teaming up with the talented Axiom, the lads present the A-side Deadzone. Beginning with
State of Mind style signature ethnic vocals, the tune floats
beautifully through the intro creating tension and depth before finally
dropping heavy into some seriously grimey club buisso. Perhaps the hardest
tune State of Mind have produced so far. Support from Friction, Ed Rush
and Optical, Calyx and Teebee, Black Sun Empire, Dieselboy, Keaton, Hive,
Squire, Concord Dawn and more
The AA side features the
Black Sun Empire remix of the State of Mind classic Real McCoy. Originally released on CIA recordings, Real McCoy has found its
way onto numerous mix compilations over the last few years, most notably the
High Contrast Fabric Live mix CD. To make the launch of S.O.M Music that bit
more special, the lads licensed the track and got this remix done. This effort
is nothing short of a total reworking, a prefect balance of both artists unique
sounds. This has been floating around a select bunch of record bags for the
last little while and is not one to be missed.

Boka steps up the pressure with another

beats and body blowing bass. First up is Ghost a track that starts with teasing bass tones and then
dops into pure mayhem with growling synths and head knodding beats this is what
Herbie Hancock would sound like if he was on crack! On the flip is Road 2 Knowher a track that
goes straight for the kill rough, raw, powerful and very haunting. The second

A. Cockney Thug: Rusko opens the EP with
undoubtedly one of the biggest tracks this year in the shape of Cockney Thug. If you havent heard this
track you have probably been living under a rock, with huge support from the
cream of the Dubstep scene including; Caspa, N-Type, Hatcha, Skream, Chef to
name only a few, also massive support from BIG hitters outside the scene like
The Scratch Perverts, Clipz, TC, Sinden, Tayo, Mary Anne Hobbs, Claud Van
Stroke, Chase & Status & Artic Monkeys. From the opening this is an all
out dance floor killer, with its distinctive cockney thug sample (When your spirit
is floating down the tunnel towards the light etc.), and then into the garage
driven swinging beat and stomping bass which will keep you hooked before the
catchy horn line that has braced almost every Dubstep dance floor this year. B.
Love is Real: Rusko goes back to the old skool with this bubbling garage track,
showing the true diversity of the EP. With Its sweet vocals and luscious
strings over the top of a 2-step beat and sub-low 808 garage style bass, and Todd Edwards style vocals
chops on the second drop, this one is sure to get any old skool garage heads up
and on their feet. C. Jahova:Further reinforcing the strength of this release
is another anthem, that again has gained massive support from all the key
players in the scene, is the superb dub driven killer that is Jahova. With its extremely
catchy melody, dubbed out synths and driving bass, this track has caused
devastation to many dance floors across the globe, and is an essential for any
aspiring Dubstep DJ. D. Lions Paw Rounding off the EP is the dubbed out
splendour that is Lions Paw. This has gained massive support from Skream, who has
been battering it on his rinse fm show aswell as his live sets. And with its dub delayed
drums and reggae influenced horns its sure to be a firm favourite with anyone in to the
dub-style sound. This EP really shows the growing strength of the fast rising
Sub Soldiers label (offspring to the popular Dub Police imprint) and is an
absolute essential to any Dubstep DJs record box. Now buy this EP and wake the FUCK UP!!!

proceedings with a seriously darkside plate from Bristol producers Wedge and
Gatekeeper. First up is HENCH stalwart Wedge, finally seeing his debut release
on wax to follow up his regular DJ appearances in the clubs and on the radio.
His track Overfiend opens with metallic screeches and rushes of cold air, then
the thrumming bass and grumbling mids spiral around the clacking riddim. On the
flip, Gatekeeper takes the original out into space for a chilling, dubbed out
rework stripping it back to bare basics, then adding paranoiac sounds to
incredible effect. Records will be pushing will be pushing the more musical
side of dubstep, providing tunes that work as well on the dancefloor as they do

Of all the artists past and present who
claim to let their music do their talking for them, Burial is one of the elite
band of whom this truly is the case. In fact, so reluctant is he to engage with
the cult-of-personality hoopla that surrounds almost every modern producer and
musician of merit, that he remains a genuine recluse; he has never appeared
live, only one obliquely-angled publicity photgraph is known to exist, and the
number of interviews he has given can be counted on the fingers of one hand.
Yet despite this, his music speaks loud and wide, and the world has been
listening ever since his South London Boroughs EP
debut on Hyperdub in March 2005. His eponymous album, which began life as a
low-key release in May 2006, is now widely regarded as the benchmark release of
the ever-widening dubstep genre, picking up unanimous critical acclaim along
the way, and ending the year heavily featured in many best of polls. Now Burial returns with Untrue, a new record of weird soul music, which lovingly
processes spectral female voices into vaporised R&B and smudged 2step garage.
Vocal lines are blurred, smeared, pitched up pitched down and pitch bent until
their content is cast adrift from their original context and they whisper their
saccharin sweet nothings into the void. The album continues with the debuts crackle-drenched yearning and bustling syncopations,
haunted by the ghosts of rave, but also reveals some new Burial treats with a
more glowing, upbeat energy. Kicking off with the skittering 2step syncopations
and vocal science of Archangel, Near Dark and Ghost Hardware, before long
it descends into a space of radiant divas and ambience. Where Burial first was humid, suffocating and unrelentingly sad,
Untrue is less sunless. Many of the tracks are so sweet, they
become toxic, underscored by the almost geological rumbles of growling
basslines. Unlike the overpoweringly melancholic prevailing mood of before,
Burials sound is now better defined as a downcast euphoria
typified by the epic, muted optimism of the albums last
track Raver. Forget central heating the radioactivity of this
album is all that youll need to keep you warm this winter. Untrue is available as full 13 track digipack CD, including
recent underground hit Ghost Hardware, and 9 track
DJ friendly double vinyl set, from which some of the beatless pieces have been
edited.
