CYAN022 Armour EP PT3 - Various Cyanide Recordings 12" x 2
Cyanide Recordings is once again, back with a vengeance. The 12” armour series was a hit with the massive back in 2003, so we decided to roll out the heavy artillery and unleash the dogs upon all you unsuspecting soldiers. First up, Hypersleep. Well what can we say? This tune has been devastating dance floors since the moment of completion. Reeking of funk, this track has seen major support from ranging from noisia to DjHype to chase&status proving this is definitely one for the masses. Seconds out, round two… Datura anyone? Concord Dawns Evan killjoy and Bulletproof team up to create one hell of a roller. We had to beat labels away with broomsticks, all trying to get their hands pon’ this lick. 3 days of intense sound forging and this grunged out funkster was ready for action…the rest is history. Datura + Dancefloor = Casualty. Cyanide welcome yet another Canadian counterpart to the stables, Catacomb. Quickly rising thru the ranks in the hard edge tech side of dnb, we managed to catch the lads sitting on an 80’s rock fueled neurofest titled “Rootvein”. To us, this tune sums up the perfect balance between funk and minimalism. Did we mention this track absolutely destroys dance floors? One of Bulletproofs favorite tunes of 07, Rootvein has received some heavy support from the likes of black sun empire pendulum and many more. Last but certainly not least, Bulletproof teams up with the lads from 3 doors down, State Of Mind, for their very first collaboration “Nowhere to run”. This track was designed for one thing, mixing the crowd into a complete frenzy. Rolling drums, funked out bass and catchy hooks, this tune caught the attention of names like pendulum, dieselboy, concord dawn, Vicious circle and became a hit with the funk heads the world over.

OBSE009 Armeny - Cooh / Black Sun Empire Obsessions 12" Vinyl
His debut offering on oBSEssions, Bulgarian beatsmith Cooh has created a climactic, if not cataclysmic, killer. Relentless and havoc wreaking at any range, Armeny is nothing short of an aural assault of pummeling power and precision edits, destined to devastate dancefloors and reduce them to rubble. Dynamite! Opening with a riled up and revolutionary rant that will intrigue, inspire and incite,  Monologue makes for a great set opener or candidate for rewind. Despite being several decades old, the spoken sample is still – if not moreso – pertinent in the present, and leads listeners into expecting a damaging drop. Avoiding the obvious, BSE instead proffer a piece that pulsates with the sort of power produced by disaffected people across the planet; neither rabid nor raging, yet a formidable force to be reckoned with. DJ support : Ed Rush, BSE, Klute, Noisia, State of Mind, Chris.SU & SKC.

SGN007 Contact- Survival Shogun LTD 12" Vinyl
One of the scenes most in-demand talents makes a welcome return to SGN:LTD. Armed with two of his best tracks to date, Survival serves up a double A-side release of the highest order. ‘Contact’ is trademark Survival style at its purest. Haunting atmospheres, chunky stepping beats and a grimy virus-style bassline that even Optical would be proud of. Soldiers, stand to attention……Exposing the more musical side to Survival with enchanting instrumental elements and chords ‘Gem’ is quite simply a perfect example of how to create a deep, musical experience with enough power to work on the dancefloor. DJ Support from Friction, Logistics, Commix, Fierce, Alix Perez, Icicle & Break.

CITRUSLP002 Black Lotus Album (4 x 12”) - Mindscape Citrus Recordings 12" x 4
Black Lotus is the long awaited Citrus LP which has been around on dub for ages. The first sampler was an instant anthem and had loads of support by all the usual suspects in the drum & bass scene, it included a coperation with the mighty Jade & Hydro, which guaranteed some quality vibes... With the second sampler Chris Su teamed up with the Mindscape boys, and delivered a wicked Vocal roller featuring mc rymetyme. Its needles to say this tunes been getting plenty of support all over. Both these samplers where just a part of a long story which had to be told. The album Track Black lotus got a remix treatment by the mighty Break who delivered an excellent piece of work for this album, subtle edits, deep vibes with absolute killer sound quality and nuff floor ingredients. This track sets the pace for what this album is all about. a great diversity of styles and sounds ranging from a dirty, noisy rave track produced with a brand nu talent from Budapest called Mastif to solo productions like “the vulture” which takes us right back into those early virus vibes. Pure quality stuff. Noisia steps in and delivers what we think of as one of there finest rollers ever. A killer which can already by found in the bag of the likes of Hype, Rider, Chase & Status , Andy C, Calyx, Teebee and many like minded. Massive basslines, nasty stabs and just a killer production. This tune delivers huge pressure on crowd. A timeless roller. Besides these killer anthems, tunes like Future Control featuring Rymetyme, Going Down, and Insomnia featuring Jade Deliver the final touch in making this album a true masterpiece.

ESOTERIC009 Etymology - Nucleus & Paradox Esoteric Music 12" Vinyl
Finished Copy Promo. Reinforced’s Nucleus and Paradox have been busy recording for Paradox Music and Universal Music Group over the last 12 months so the time has come for them to deliver their first Esoteric 12” in over a year !! ‘Etymology’ is a dark esotericesque roller that mixes flawlessly as the breakbeat pattern structure keeps you in check with the bizzare oddly-placed samples flying in and out of the mix in true-esoteric fashion. Samples is the key word here as Nucleus and Paradox really do go ‘in’ and complete their research in sample based compositions. All sorts of vibes from 60’s sci-fi analogue moogs to 80’s occult TV samples are present. Deep rumbling bass growls holds the bottom end and rolls everything out in their ‘Old Reinforced fashion’. The track has to be played right to the finish line to appreciate the oddness and full flavour! ‘Cabalistic’ is a much deeper Source-Direct influenced track that oozes DnB knowledge hence Nucleus & Paradox’s 17 years in the game. Rare suspense full film samples explaining ‘Future Now’ set the tone for whats to come. James Brown breaks switch between different effects and Amen slices appear where they really shouldn’t. Thought-provoking atmosphere’s reign solid and an impressive and moody breakdown halfway lead to an Amen assault of breakbeat pressure. Enjoy Nucleus & Paradox at their Esoteric best !!! Dj support from Asides, Klute, Loxy, Dj Marky, Outrage, Flight, Goldie, Marcus Intallex, Dylan, Gremlinz, Bailey, Kryptic Minds

CIADK007 In The AM - Zero Tolerance & Jeeves Blackfield Ft Steo Deepkut 12" Vinyl
Finished Copy Promos. Outstanding soulful vocal D&B. Pure Fabio & Bukem rolling pressure!!  Zero Tolerance's began releasing music in the year 2000 with his home town label Bassbin and Jungle originators Reinforced Records as part of their 2nd Wave Project (which also gave debut's to Sonic and Silver, Breakage and Beta 2 amongst others). To date his productions have already been released on such major labels as Liquid V, Signature, Hospital, Commercial Suicide, CIA and Subtitles amongst others (and of course....Reinforced and Bassbin). Born in Dublin, Ireland in 1979 Jeeves Blackfield is the product of the last six months of the seventies, the whole of the 80's, the rave phenomenon and classic hip hop of the 90's. Originally an MC going under the name of Konchus Lingo (CHECK OUT THE INFOMATICS), Jeeves began creating his sound as a hobby which developed into a multi billion dollar industry. After passing a CD onto Zero Tollerance. He was blown away by his incredible talent and modesty so they started making tracks and recording vocals. Unfortunately Jeeves still hasn't received a penny yet continues to live with his loving and supportive parents on the Ballymun exit of the M50 motorway on Dublin's north side.

The A-side shows Survival's broad talents in full with a superb musical outing that can only be described as epic... "Exile" on the other hand is a darker take altogether with harsh, stong drumwork, eerie vocal chops and unbelievably low sub! Both of these tracks have been supported heavily across clubs and radio by the likes of - Marcus Intalex, A.I, DBridge, Loxy, Ant TC1 & Stress Level, Klute, Tactile, Nu:Tone & Sabre.

MEDIC006 My Detroit - Craggz Med School 12" Vinyl
Finished copy Promo. The sixth Med School installment has arrived courtesy of Newcastle's own Craggz. Believe it or not it’s Craggz’s first solo 12” and, true to form, the Product/Valve man has delivered two bass-heavy club smashers.“My Detroit” is a phat slice of future funk that does exactly what it says on the tin. Harking back to finest electronic music to come out of the Motor City with it's bleepy techno influences. 8 bit pads lull you into a false sense of security before the blistering drop knocks the dancefloor sideways. Shuffling percussion and subliminal sci-fi detailing keep everything rolling, but it's the skull-crushing low end which propels the track forward and will have your eyeballs shaking in their sockets. Filling out the rest of the prescription is “Flick The Switch” which keeps the temperature soaring with an even more minimal outlook. Hypnotising synth stabs are peppered over crushing beats which poke their heads through another monster bassline. Yet again the Valve style mixdown is in full and deadly effect. Needless to say these tunes have already found favour with the big dogs - the likes of DJ marky and DJ flight already battering them hard. Look out for the newlook medschool housebag – destined to make the label even more collectable, this release will no doubt be a massive hit with the ever increasing fan base and promises to shake bassbins all over the globe!! A double pack is to follow, so keep it locked for more info from the Med School sugery.

SAN024 U Got It - Young Ax Santorin 12" Vinyl
Finished Copy Promo. Two wild boars run between forty feet firs, while the postman waits at the gate, a slim packet in his hands. Addressee: Alexander Zwingenberger. Content: rare as fuck state-side Funk. “I listen to a lot of Jazz and vintage Funk, but also Old School Hip Hop. I try to carry this vibe into Drum’n’Bass music,” says Alex, better known among heads as Young Ax. “Back in the days I was fascinated by breaking down and cutting the music. Then, when I was on the road with “No Solo”, there was just Hip Hop for me. When I was eleven, I was watching “Beat Street” and it stuck. This easy way of performing music, partying, dancing – similar to Drum’n’Bass today”. Young Ax has had vinyl releases on Santorin, Brand:Nu, Critical, beatalistics and Vibez, contributed to compilations for Annie Mac, “Ambassadors” and “High Vitality” and was featured on the BBC’s Grooverider, Annie Mac and Zane Lowe shows. Now we are proud to present his debut album, an extensive showcase of Young Ax’ material. “I definitely don’t like predictable tracks, based on loops and stuff. I want something to happen during the tune. It’s like a live show where someone is playing a wrong note”. In that respect, Young Ax teams up with composer and pianist Sebastian “Mason” Maassen, who adds some Fender Rhodes improvisations. The two are currently working on their joint “Electronic Jazz” project. There is no place for cold electronic sounds on these lively and complex eleven tracks. At the same time, “Higher Ground” does not need one vocal track. This is just 100% pure Young Ax in essence: bridging the gap between musical ambition and rocking the dancehall.

PRO17045 Granite - Pendulum Ear Storm 12" Vinyl
Limited Edition one sided 12” promo with etching on the flip side: Pendulum’s first release under the new Ear Storm / Warners deal. The last year has seen Pendulum retreat to the depths of the underground to work on their second album: finding that using purely electronic sounds left something to be desired, they've fetched their guitars and worked on perfecting their ultimate sound - an electronic Led Zeppelin, a krunked up Soundgarden, Tool meets Timbaland, combined with the synthetic aggression and sonic purity of the original Pendulum sound. Radio 1DJ Zane Lowe – world exclusive of Granite last week. Plays in his show every night last week, along with plays in Jo Whiley and Pete Tong. Also added to Kerrang evening list. Please note this 12” version will not be repressed.

DP011 Way Of The Dub (Caspa Rmx) - N Type / The Others Dub Police Records 12" Vinyl
N-Type: Way Of The Dub (Caspa Remix): Caspa steps in to take on remix duties of N-Type's 'Way Of The Dub' here and does a very good job at that. With its gut wrenching sub bass, and Caspa's trademark wobbles this one has become a firm favourite with many dance floors, and has gained massive support from the likes of Hatcha, The Scratch Perverts, Geeneus, Tayo, Tubby, Rusko, The Others and of course the mighty N-Type, who used it on his mix for the popular Dubstep All-stars series. The Others: Bushido (Caspa Remix): Caspa comes with another heavy remix on the flip here, with a remix of The Others ‘Bushido’. Fans of Cockney Violin and Cockney Flute will be digging this one for sure, with its sweet oriental melody and driving sub bass, a combination that Caspa pulls off with ease. Fans of the original won’t be disappointed, as Caspa certainly steps up to the mark. Dub Police once again put out a very strong release.

HFRMX002 Angel (Si Begg Remix) /Sparkle (Boxcutter Remix) - Toasty Hotflush Recordings 12" Vinyl
The second Hotflush remix release presents killer rubs of two of the most ground-breaking tracks on the label to date. The first side holds some extremely exciting work from techno/experimental/electronic legend Si Begg, a minimal nu-dub interpretation of the Hotflush classic, "Angel" by the enigmatic Toasty (originally released on HF009 in 2005). On the flip, the mercurial talent that is Boxcutter gets busy with a deep and dark remix of Elemental's "Sparkle" (HF011, 2006).

EAR005 Bones - Mrk1 Earwax 12" Vinyl
Its grim up north eh lad? No matter though, as Manchester’s MRK1 pulls out another quality release for us ‘earwax southerners. ‘Bones’ is a big-boy banger of a tune - drop heavy, run for cover bassline business – no messing about, just draw it back and run again. You can hear hints of Coki and Skream in this one, but there’s no mistaking MRK1s tight production ethic and his characteristic sound palette. It might not win many prizes for innovation but there is no doubt that ‘Bones’ will set off the dancefloor every time. Currently getting plays from Pinch, Skream, Distance, Cyrus and many others. Flip for something quite different – you haven’t read the label wrong – this track is also by MRK1… ‘Steppa Delights’ is a cheeky lil’ 4/4 dub number that perfectly crosses into dubstep sets, being at 140bpm. Laid back on every front other than the bass weight, this rhythm is an excellent exercise in gut wrenching sub power and soothing melody – one for the late night skankers. Being played by old school dub heads such as Dubkasm and new school dubsteppers such as Skull Disco’s Appleblim, Pinch, Skream, Distance, Cyrus, Joker, Peverelist, Dubkasm and many more.

DIS001 Sandsnake - Skream & Cluekid Disfigured Dubz 12" Vinyl
Skream launches his own imprint Disfigured Dubz. As Altern 8 said “Watch your bass bins I'm telling ya" . Arguably the biggest name in Dubstep and probably the most prolific producer too, Skream provides a more personal outlet for his creative genius on his own label. Moving Snares hurtle along at breakneck speed while techno textures, buzz saw effects and a driving insistent synthesised melody demonstrate why dubstep is the most intense, exciting music around at the moment. On ‘Sandsnake’ Skream teams up with Cluekid, better know for his Collabs with Cotti. A consistent fixture on his Rinse FM show, the track has a cheeky flute-esque melody with tough riffle shot snares that lead into a dutty bass grind that refuses to be pinned to one motif. Miss it at your peril.

BULLFROG001 Crazy Legs - Cluekid Bullfrog Beats 12" Vinyl
Bullfrog beats is the brand new independent record label from South London based producer Cluekid. It is intended to be the label where by, Cluekid himself, releases his own tunes and conveys his sound. This isn’t your everyday standard label; it is a label set up by an established dubstep producer, bringing you a different feel to the music. It doesn’t just churn out your stereotype dubstep sound. Bull Frog 001: the eagerly anticipated first release sees two chest cutting tunes. Firstly, Side A with Crazy legs. The track starts with a ribbiting sound, gradually building up and then breaking out into a droning, pulsating baseline. With various chopping breakdowns, it’s guaranteed to keep you on your toes. Flip it over and you’ll hear The Odyssey. This has more of an oldsckool vibe. The minimal beginning with hi hat and stab is then complimented with an obscure oscillating baseline, which gradually builds before dropping into a roughneck retro wobble. Both these floor wrecking tunes are supported by some of the top DJ’s/producers in the scene. Cluekid is setting high standards, and the Bullfrog debut release is a must have for any DJ’s record bag.

HDB007 Sunset Dub - Quarta 330 / Kode 9 HyperDub 12" Vinyl
Reinforcing Hyperdub’s reputation for consistent inconsistency in respecting their own sonic template, this release from young Japanese producer Quarta 330 literally jumps off the vinyl, with each rhythmic element like its own micro-explosion in your speakers. These two 8-bit tunes will remind many of an early generation of video games, but in the dance, they work like ring tones for the bass generation. Sunset Dub‚ buzzes in with its skittering, glitchy skank and a brain tingling melody grabs you like a synthetic snake charmer. On the flip, Quarta 330 drags Kode9‚s 2005 epic 9 Samurai‚ screaming into the arcade to get its circuits mangled. Quarta 330‚s 8-bit soundset reminds us that progress is not always forward motion, and that nerve-singeing sonics, body-popping rhythms and abused machinery will always have a place in our heart. Not for the over 18s. Contains additives.

New Dubstep Promos

HALO005 Empty - Elemental Halo Beats 12" Vinyl
Finished Copy Promos. At the forefront of the Dubstep underground is Halo Beats, the label operated by the seminal and subversive Slaughter Mob; underground garage mainstays and Dubstep scene stalwarts. With a slew of releases under its belt, Halo Beats pushes forwards and upwards against the tide and the tired and against the tried and tested formula of Dubstep labels in 2007. With its fifth release Halo Beats have firmly established themselves as leaders of the UK underground cutting edge. On this release, North London based producer Elemental brings two stone cold killers to the table. ‘Desert Storm’ sees Elemental toying with off kilter electronics and dabbling with almost psychedelic stabs and babbling basslines. Sonically the track nods to Elemental’s DNB roots whilst simultaneously being totally different to that, as well as the current crop of Dubstep output. The track builds and breaks in a delicate frenzy of self contained progression, sure to engage dancefloors and home listeners alike. ‘Empty’ on the AA is an understated Dubstep romp. Deep and engulfing sounds immerse the listener and shrill reverbed and dubbed out jazz flourishes add to the plethora of attention grabbing sonics. The percussion is meticulously forged; minimal, yet yielding maximum impact. A brooding track which demands the listener’s full aural attention. Elemental is not only pushing the boundaries for the Dubstep movement but also contesting the existing paradigms of electronic music: raw yet intelligent, visceral and cerebral. The Elemental sound is totally unique and this record is a must for anyone interested in documenting the ever mutating landscape of what Dubstep is, and what it can be. Besides this release Elemental has released on prestigious labels such as Hotflush, Pitch Black and Destructive as well as featuring on Tayo’s FabricLive instalment. Live, Elemental brings something entirely fresh to the booth, favouring Ableton and Midi controllers over the traditional decks and mixers, for more of a live experience.
