PRELIMINARY DNB LIST for
SATURDAY OCTOBER 6

First off… if you haven’t already added the new Grand Poo-bas MySpace profile… http://www.myspace.com/poobas is where you need to go.

The last you heard from me, ST Holdings didn’t post a release list – they did end up shipping new product and we have it in stock.  Check the IN STOCK section at the bottom of the list, or look at http://www.poo-bas.com/pre-order/10-03-07.htm to see what you might need or find some hidden promos.

Everything on this list is expected to be in store:  SATURDAY OCTOBER 6 but we know how that has been going lately.  It doesn’t come that day, then it will be October 10th.

Requests are appreciated by: SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 30 by NOON but you can always add on later if needed.

Sound samples are on this list, you just have to scroll to the bottom.  You will also find sound samples of Dubstep promos that aren’t available anywhere else – we will always have this stuff before anyone.  Period!

Email your requests to doug (at) poo-bas.com and it is always good to email, even if you already discussed it with Brent or Rob.

Promos are highlighted in yellow.  Always watch Nu-Urban, they always have fun suprises!

We don’t list the SRD potential releases, but the full releases are usually updated at the store after 2pm on Saturdays.

See you Saturday!

Thanks,
Doug

EAST076 Planetary Motion - A Sides Eastside Music Ltd 12" Vinyl
White label Release. After a long awaited absence from the scene Eastside Records is back. Label frontman A Sides has been locked away in the studio stock piling tracks. Both sides of the release have been championed by Dj's Marky, Fabio, Friction, LTJ Bukem plus many more. Next up: East 77 - A Sides A. Tear The Roof Off (Twisted Individual Remix) backed with AA. SUBTITLES062 Me - Misanthrop Subtitles Music 12" Vinyl
Is Misanthrop the new Phace or the new Noisia? One of the biggest 12”s at the most recent Renegade Hardware night, Neurofunk with lots of FUNK Misanthrop is Michael Braeuninger, based in Stuttgart, southwest of Germany. He was caught up by the dark sounds and menacing beats of drum and bass in the nineties, as it developed more into an intense musical hybrid. This is when he decided to produce his own tracks under the name Misanthrop, which enables him to use music as a medium to express personal experiences of human interactions. His musical arrangements symbolically oppose to the lack of candour his aim is to break through the borders of conventions to set new unusual grounds. With his debut on Teebee´s imprint Subtitles and his release on Mayhems Shadow Law Rec., Misanthrop gets heavy rotation with the likes of Calyx, DNAudio Crew, Mayhem, Noisia, Pendulum, Phace,
Teebee.

DISTURBD010 Seduce - Rawtekk Disturbed 12" Vinyl
Rawtekk is one of the new up & coming German neuro / tech producers. With just a few releases to his name on Citrus recording he's already created a huge crowd of fans around the globe. Forthcoming a wicked co lab with NPHECT on Syndrome Audio, and right now with a new single on Disturbed. The A side is a killer. Pure stripped down oldschool tech inspired drum & bass, will appeal to a wide variety of fans. On the flipside is more of p(h)unked up heavy rave tune, with big anastasia stabs, big rolling beats, and bad ass
bassline.

Chunky beats, moody warped sub bass and dubby delays ensure a a punishing groove. On the other side ’Trip’ comes up slowly on LSD before locking on with a punishing groove built from sub zero subs and killer percussion. Proper rolling Bass & Drum music built to last.

IND027 Blazius /Dweeb - HoldTight & Kleer / Lomax Industry Recordings 12" Vinyl
Industry are back from their self-imposed 12 month break and boy do we have some crackers coming for you! With tracks and remixes from the likes of Marky, Cyantific, Lomax, HoldTight, Domino, and more; there is lots to look forward to in the coming months. First up is HoldTight & Kleer with Blazius, already receiving play from Andy C, Bailey, Loxy and Friction amongst others, this tune has been hurting ravers around the world for a few months now. Slightly tougher than the usual HoldTight output, this one sets things off right, with big stabs and banging beats and bass. Reminiscent of Metalheadz and Photek this one will bring back a few memories whilst being totally up to date at the same time. On the flip is Lomax’s debut outing on the label; despite numerous Industry releases as part of HoldTight, this is the first time he has appeared solo. What a mighty fine debut it is too; Dweeb is classic Lomax, mixing the deep old school sound of jungle with new school production. This one is a deep roller with fat bass, great for mixing and even better for the crowd! Reviews are forthcoming in ATM, Knowledge, DJ and possibly Mixmag; there has also been radio plays on 1 Xtra, Kiss and BBC Radio 1. HoldTight have released tracks and remixes on Hospital, React, D&B Arena, Industry, Rubiks, Renegade, Advanced, TOV and more. Lomax has releases on Ram, Intrinsic, Critical, Defunked and many more.

FORCASTAUDIO001 Drift Away - Saphir Forecast Audio 12" Vinyl
White label Promo. ‘Drift Away’ The moody and soulful intro of this track sends a chill down your spine from the very beginning. A low, grunting bass hook swells near the break resulting in a fierce and deep drop while soulful melodies guided by trumpets lead you trough the progress of the track. The moment the reese bass line stars, the mood is set for twisted dance floor action. The overall vibe of this track is a beautiful mix of ruff and dark parts healed with a soothing touch. ‘Believer’ Most possibly one of the more minimal tunes by Saphir again, packed with deep emotional structures and sound layout. The drum patterns are carried in such an upfront way that it shapes the track. Subtitle rave bits bring in the diversion of this liquid / dubby inspired roller. The remix by SKC & Chris Su does just that, but in their technoid-based own way, giving the track a more darker and up tempo twist. "BIG first release, Saphir comes correct! Awesome atmospherics, one for the dancefloor" - Unknown Error – Play support: SKC, Chris Su, Matt-U, Skitty, Inflitrata, Identity, Adi J, Masheen, Unknown Error.

BEATUP 002 : UNKNOWN ARTIST : BOOTYSPRUNG (VOCAL / DUB) : BEATUP
Another cheeky bootleg from the Beat Up boys, this time around LL Cool J’s ‘Headsprung’ gets a nifty D&B rework. Complete with skipping breaks, pounding bass and of course LL Cool J’s infamous vocal stylings, this is one booty you’ll want in your box. Flip over for a rather handy dub mix, perfect DJ tools.

BOOTY 002 : UNKNOWN : JEALOUSY (RING THE ALARM) / BOOM SOUND : BOOTY
Ever wondered what happens when you cross the Queen of R&B with angry D&B? Well now’s your chance to find out as ‘Ring The Alarm’ gets a naughty D&B remix, expect grimey bassline switch ups, neck snapping beats and an attitude so bad it might get kicked out of the record shop for starting a fight! Capleton’s Boom Sound’ gets similar treatment on the flip, bottomless bass slides along at warp speed while Ragga lyrics spitfire over the top like a round from a chain gun.

CE 002 : SOUNDS DESTRUCTIVE : POLICE TAPE / MANY MOONS : CYNTAX ERROR
Sounds Destructive return again with the highly anticipated police tape, the follow up to their last offering ‘Lawnmower Tune’ with ‘Vitamin Funk' on the flip after the unheard of success of their first release Sounds Destructve have come up with yet another dancefloor slammer. A very deceiving intro complete with melodic strings and a silky vocal leads into what can only be described as a ‘dirt mcgirt’’ jump up bass line complete with wobble effect to complement it. Stompy military type drums lead the way with the infamous ‘beefy’ sample’ being used to maximum effect. Sounds destructive have more than earned their tagline ‘rewind guaranteed drum and bass!!.’ Many moons is a high octane, action packed piece of vinyl bliss. A well constructed intro starts with eerie strings and the subtle many moons sample going almost unnoticed as the trademark stompy drums drop to reveal a sinister bassline at work ready to reap havoc, the break down can only be described as ‘the quiet before the storm’ a well processed synth starts to build the momentum again and the sample leads into a maximum impact head nodder designed to cause mayhem on dancefloors worldwide.

PLAYAZ 002 : D-MINDS & HAZARD : MR HAPPY / SUPER DRUNK : PLAYAZ
DJ Hype’s brand new Playaz army marches on strong, for those who have not been paying enough attention, PLAYAZ001 ‘Busted’ was quite possibly the biggest tune around at the time it was released, and ‘Mr Happy’ is fitting nicely into that mould too. Yes, you could quite easily say that ‘Mr Happy’ is simply ‘Busted vol.2’ but you could also quite easily say that I don’t care and neither does everyone who’s been going spazzo for it every time it’s dropped ‘in da club’. ‘Super Drunk’ on the flip brings some Kung Fu flavour with an equally classy Jump Up number. Essential purchasing.
KWIK-SCRIP’: Anthem
Audio: http://www.nu-urbanmusic.co.uk/shop/play_real.php?product_id=8667

MPR 006 : BULLET PROOF / KRONE & SCALES : BLACK SALVATION / ABYSS ECLOSION : MELTING POT
As Spanish label Melting Pot reaches its sixth release, we see Bulletproof take to the floor with the deeply dangerous sounds of ‘Black Salvation’ a tune so dirty it needs boil wash after you’ve rinsed it out. New artists Krone & Scales get muddy on the back with the epic Techno futurism of ‘Abyss Eclosion’, packed with grandiose musicality and a Blade Runner-esque outlook.

REDRECORDS 001 : ZODIAC : STRANGER THINGS / LAND OF THE LOST : RED RECORDS
Red Records is the brand new sister label to XS Records, one of the past year’s D&B success stories. XS has built up a massive following of underground heads and this spin off is set to do the same. Starting as they mean to go on with a huge pair of dancefloor killers from Zodiac, Red Records is sure to become another permanent fixture in your record box. Opening with orchestral provenance ‘Stranger Things Have Happened’ is a straight up serial killer with quicker reflexes than a cat on crack! Flicking between grinding basslines and echoed booms of sub-low this one will break a crowd’s nose and then apologise by kicking them in the ribs. Nice! Flipping over and we have another right royal smacker with all the attitude of a teenager who’s scuffed his new Nike Shocks compressed onto a fat slab of wax. Punchy, two step breaks and stomping bass roll ever onwards and a classic “You make me feel so good” vocal keeps things interesting.

Audio: http://www.nu-urbanmusic.co.uk/shop/play_real.php?product_id=8671

SAR 001 : BROCKIE, KANE & ED SOLO : STAMPEDE / OUTBOARD : SONIC ART
Kicking off the Sonic Arts reissues is a pair of familiar dancefloor favourites from Brockie and Ed Solo. Both tracks are bass laden monsters with plenty of punch to stand up against today’s musical monsters. Expect some seriously bouncy bass and stepping drums with more energy than a meth head drinking red bull.
KWIK-SCRIP’: Classic
Audio: http://www.nu-urbanmusic.co.uk/shop/play_real.php?product_id=8804

SD 004 : PROPOGANDA / SILVA D : SLIP AWAY / VORTEX 4 : SOUNDS DEVIOUS
Soundsdevious explores deeper worlds on this release, with Silva D and Propaganda taking you on a technical journey through space and time. "Slip Away" from Propaganda features the sultry vocals of Stephanie Benjamin and the trademark sound of the Offkey duo. Label boss Silva D steps up for the flip with a dance-floor smashing tech-roller. "Vortex 4" is a non-stop sound system assault, grinding basslines rumble underneath heavy beats & swirling fx; all pulled together to create an awesome futuristic soundscape. Vortex 4 emphasises Silva D’s versatility as a producer and is definitely going to be in record boxes for a long time to come.
KWIK-SCRIP’: Dance-Floor
Audio: http://www.nu-urbanmusic.co.uk/shop/play_real.php?product_id=7436

SRL 002 : CALLIDE / HENCHMAN : SECRET GARDEN / SUMTHING TO DANCE TO : SOURCE
Stepping up with some dope beats, the Source Records crew (from the shop of the same name) are hitting the dancefloor running with a big pair of speaker punishers. There’s no stopping what can’t be stopped, no killing what can’t be killed, but there’s definitely plenty of rewinding and reloading action on these bad boys. ‘Dropping Beats’ marches straight into battle, smashing its way through the enemy with ten tonnes of bass, while ‘Predator’ twists up a familiar sample from, er, Predator and uses it to great effect. Nastier than that Charley bird from Big Brother.
KWIK-SCRIP’: Jump Up

TIP 023 : TECH ITCH : COLD BLOOD / ALONE : PENETRATION
The god father of darkness brings two monsters from the deep that will rip thru dance floors like a knife through butter.
‘cold blood’ is as hard as nails driving non stop breaks and doom synths that put u in a trance and the pounding bass will crush your chest cavity.  ‘Alone’ starts with filtered drums which take you to the drop then the driving metallic beats and non stop sub pressure takes over.
KWIK-SCRIP’: DARK & HEAVY

TRNSL 002 : ASC : ATLANTIC BREEZE / SUNRISE : TRANSLATION
Switching gears for Translation Recordings' second release, prolific UK artist ASC shows us the other, brighter, side of the Translation coin. On a framework of punchy kicks and crisp snares "Atlantic Breeze" glides effortlessly through blissful atmospheric synth washes and haunting vocal chants that weave faintly through the mix like vocals in a dream. On the flipside is "Sunrise," an emotive roller that opens with a double kick drum break and urgent cymbal rides and progresses smoothly into soaring strings and playful keys all grounded by subtle analogue bass rumblings: the perfect soundtrack for balmy summer nights.
