NATURAL RHYTHM
MUMBLE MOUTH *STYLE OF EYE* (DOTBLEEP) 12  - 107575
Style of Eye provide two devistating mixes of Natural Rhythm's monster 'Mumble Mouth'. The original mix was and continues to be a HUGE track for Heather, Derrick Carter, Farina and Brett Johnson. The first new mix, 'Less Talk Mix' is pure jack with a mumbled vocal and wearing the trademark Style Of Eye thumping groove. The bassline hits with great force and the bleeps and bleeps are bleeping nasty. The 'Lets Talk' mix takes it to another level with more use of the original weirdo vocal cutting in and out, the track takes a mind of its own with weird and wonderful noises setting the tracks tempo.(DBR020)HOUSE-11/12/07-UK

ETIENNE JAUMET
REPEAT AGAIN AFTER *AME* (VERSATILE) 12  - 107839
BRACE YOURSELVES! This one is a fucking MONSTER! Ame do it again for one of their strongest pieces since "Rej". This one is based around a deep rolling bassline, and some nice percussion work to get things moving. Then, slowly the horns come in. Saxophones, tombones, french hors and god only knows what else... all building and building and building to the point where you just HAVE to scream! We heard it in action late in the summer season when Dixon came through to play in our beloved L.I.C. for an outdoor party and it was all we could talk about the whole week! Make no mistake, this is one of if not THE best record of the week. Maybe even the month!(VER054)HOUSE-11/12/07-GE

Navid Tahernia whipped up this masterpiece for Kompakt Extra and damn are we impressed over here! The A-side is a loopy mechanical cut with lots of noisey build up things and a very scary undertone. Really good for picking up the pace. On the flip, our man brings the 303 out for a stunning acid line (not unlike old Mike Ink) and dusts off the 909 for what sounds like it very well could have been produced 10 years ago, given the spirit of the track. This one is a winner! Thanks Navid!(KOMEX56)TECH HOUSE-11/12/07-GE

MIJK VAN DIJK
BOA / MAMBA *ZENKER* (BLUFIN) 12  - 107821
Mijk Van Dijk returns from his killer offering on Brique Rouge with two dope joints for the Blufin imprint. 'Boa' is a dark and menacing tune with an evil shaking bassline, sparse bits of electronics, driving beats and dope effects. 'Mamba' is as venemous as the snake its named for and is a filthy jacking slice of electro funk that gets remixed by Esperanza's Dario Zenker.(BF032)HOUSE-11/12/07-GE

OLEG POLIAKOV
DATCHA MUSIK (CIRCUS COMPANY) 12  - 107828
You just cant put a label on Circus Company these days. It used to be all really clunky and tracky sample based stuff. Now, when you put the needle down, it could be straight up house flavors, or Detroit influenced techno, or mind bending minimal. With this one, its sorta a mixture of all! The lead cut sounds straight out of old Kevin Yost type stuff from way back in the day. The following cut feels like old Kenny Larkin from the "Azymuth" days. And the closer is somewhere between the 2.(CCS023)HOUSE-11/12/07-GE

JORGE SAVORETTI /KASPER/PAPOL
MAGIC KEYS (ESPERANZA) 12  - 107831
Jorge Savoretti teams up with Kasper and Papol for a sick deep minimal tech house cut that you can hear his influence in throughout the entire piece. Perfect basslines, with trippy FX work and gentle but rhythmic claps. On the flip, Franco Cinelli does his magic to make it more of a shuffly and more uptempo cut suitable for the party.(ESPERANZ08)TECH HOUSE-11/12/07-GE

DAVID GILMOUR GIRLS
YOUNG RATS *HEADMAN* (RELISH / FINE) 12  - 107832

MARASICA & DUSTY KID
PLUMBI / ATTRE (BOXER SPORT) 12  - 107841
Marasica & Dusty Kid team up for a dirty lil affair for the Boxer Sport label. The A-side is a blippy minimal builder complete with hypnohouse-like tones, dirty mechanical drums, and sophisticated blow-ups! On the flip, things get more mental and maybe a tad neo-trance. Both sides are A+ efforts.(BOXER053)TECH HOUSE-11/12/07-GE

R VOIGT/F MARTINIQ/PAN TON
KILLER SERIES 7 (CEREAL KILLERS) 12  - 107842
Finality for Pan/ton's Cereal Killers series. And he's saved the best for last! Reinhard Voigt steps up for a simple yet quite effective trip down the delay effect with a groovy tech jam focused around a solid beat with a delayed blip thing that shifts the whole track in many different directions. Frank Martiniq is next with a moody and creepy cut. And to close out his series, Pan/ton delievers one of his better productions to date. A psychedelic indsutrial influenced techno monster!(CERAL07)TECH HOUSE-11/12/07-GE

WRECK THE DJ (BIG BOSS) 12  - 107463
'Wreck The Dj' is a hot tune that sounds a lot like Fatboy Slim material. It borrows the break from 'Apache' and quite a few more prominent breaks and laces them into an aggressive funky house number with powerful synths, a hip hop vocal hook and some old blues vocal samples. The cut and paste house/break hybrid sound will definitely go over with fans of Hyper, Meat Katie etc.(BBR012)BREAKBEAT-11/12/07-NL

HERVE
CHEAP THRILLS (DUBSIDED) 12  - 107643
Herve is a fucking force. His releases and remixes have all been furiously funky, edgy, underground and most importantly ass shaking. Here the force delivers three mind blowing rump shaking numbers starting with the cheeky 'Cheap Thrills' which borrows a snippet from Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' and works it thoroughly through his jacking tracky off kilter beats and grooves. Next up 'Lets Get Dirty' does just that with a great hip hop sample laced into an off the wall hard hitting funked up fidget house explosion. Last but not least is 'Rocky Raver' that unsuprisingly grabs some excellent old rave samples and demolishes them in a hard hitting production that breaks into the guitars from Rocky and only gets wilder and better. The editing and production on this is intense and if you're a fan of the French Nu Rave sound ala Sebastian this one's a must!(DSD015)HOUSE-11/05/07-UK

UNDERWORLD
OBLIVION WITH BELLS *DLP* (DIFFERENT) DP  - 107335
GATEFOLD DOUBLE ALBUM. Underworld are back with a soulful, contemplative, yet typically uplifting album. The single and album opener 'Crocodile' is simply as good as they get. 'Ring Road' sees Hyde off on one of his famous psycho-geographic jaunts (this one around Romford, on St George’s Day), marking time with his compelling word rhythms, while the treated found sounds in 'Cuddle Bunny Vs Celtic Villages' conjures a decidedly non-cuddly, almost menacing atmosphere. The lusciusly lowering 'Beautiful Burnout' features Underworld's trademark synth swathes and swells with a somehow doomed beauty, but the minimal 'Holding The Moth' boasts such a bass-y spring it practically bounces clean off the vinyl. 'Glam Bucket' meanwhile, shimmers like a sheet of liquid crystal and 'Best Mamgu Ever' offers a sliver of downbeat, Balearic bliss at the album’s close.(4511081012)HOUSE-10/29/07-BE

'Be Bop' is next up and features a prominent vocal hook and more bumping jazz inflected chunky grooves. Rounding off this amazing ep is 'Say What' a deeper more shuffling monster with a super fat analog bassline, sweet beats and great touches of effects, pads and soul.(DRM054)HOUSE-10/15/07-UK

SHES SO DIRTY *VERNON & DACOST (BUMP) 12  - 106775

First up is Lil Mark who turns in a shuffling gem of a mix with acid power and much funk in the trunk. Vernon & Dacosta's mix is a deeper more lush house journey sounding like old Phonography or early Classic material. Rounding off the package are Style Of Eye who also turn in a dope and quite deep mix.(BUMP04)HOUSE-10/22/07-UK

Alex Attias is riding high with his recent bomb for Planet E and here drops the next offering for Compost's "Black Label" series. This wonderful three tracker kicks off with an instrumental of 'Let The Rhythm Get In', with heavy percussive rhythms and deep jacking beats. Hypnotic Ame styled melodies ride over the top giving the track a deep electronic soulful sound. Next up Beanfield remixes 'Everchanging Times'. Their rub is a tough funky slow broken soulful vocal mix that brings to mind Amp Fiddler / Jimpster material. Rounding off this excellent package is a Quarion mix of 'Finding Who We Are', a beautifully deep soulful electronic house cut for the Ferrer / Chandler fans with a whispery vocal, deep analog bass, deep effects and swinging minimal hypnotic beats.(COMP272)HOUSE-11/05/07-GE

POLE *MOLE/FRIVOLOUS*
PT 2 STEINGARTEN RMXS (SCAPE) 12  - 107564
Part 2 of the Pole Steingarten remixes. This time around, it's The Mole and Frivolous giving the treatments. First off is The Mole with his deep and dark sludge house stylings. Slowtempo with a bassline so thick it's sexy. Frivolous' mix is more of a party jam. Different stylings and definitely on a more playful tip. As far as remixes go, it's probably the best proper remix of both parts of the set. And considering how good the Huckaby, Dimbiman and Melchior remixes were, thats truly saying something!(SCAPE48)TECH HOUSE-10/29/07-GE

BURGER/VOIGT
BRING TRANCE BACK (KOMAPKT) 12  - 107695
J Burger and Wolfgang Voigt (aka Mike Ink) team up for a rhythm based beater thats unmistakably Kompakt. Loop driven basslines with stiff percussion and guitar(?) washes to complete the groove. The title is a tad misleading, as we really wouldnt call this Trance. Well, at least not modern day trance. On the flip, things get a bit dirtier and a little more driven, but still maintaining a rhythm rooted in tech house. Also has kind of an Animal Republic or Mike Ink LIVEEVIL feel to it, for those who rememeber that era of German stuff.(KOMPAKT163)TECH HOUSE-11/05/07-GE

2 WAGON REPAIR releases in 2 weeks!?!? Last weeks Missing Link was a winner, and this one is right up there with it. This time around, it's Minilogue with their strongest release yet. Shuffly with some jazzy dark deep synth action going on. Sounds like if Mathew Jonson's "Marionnette" was more of a housey tune. On the flip, things are deeper and trippy, to say the least. This one grows and growsinto a true Detroit influenced classic.(WAG022)MINIMAL TECHNO- 4/23/07-GE

BUBBLE (DIRTYBIRD) 12  - 107115
Riva Starr follows up his debut house ep on Jesse Rose's Frontroom Recordings imprint with a killer for the red hot Dirtybird label. If you're a fan of Switch styled tech funk, 'Bubble' is an absolute must. It features booming warped filthy bass, edgy beats, grungy synth grooves that start screaming and shaking wildly during the killer breakdown / build up. This sounds like what a collaboration between Switch and Basement Jaxx might sound like. 'WTF' on the flip is a favorite of Claude Vonstroke who has included it on his 'At The Controls' mix compilation, a realy jacking slice of raw powerful funk. Rounding off the ep is 'Baddassbass' which as the title suggests has a truly killer warped bassline and tough funky drums.(DB014)HOUSE-11/05/07-GE

BREITBARTH/SWAT SQUAD/BODINE
PT 2 TEN YEARS OF TREIBSTOFF (TREIBSTOFF) 12  - 107703
Here is part 2 of the super sick Ten Years of Treibstoff compilation. All 3 of these are really great, by the way. But, here for the second outing, we have Swat Squad, Rene Breitbarth, Alecs Marta and Todd Bodine. All 4 cuts have that almost trademark Treibstoff sounds. Stiff and direct beats, with plenty of bass rhythm and percussive elements. The exception here is the Todd Bodine cut, which is a tad more acidic than usual but still fits right in there. Sick tech house for dark dark rooms.(TREIB075)TECH HOUSE-11/05/07-GE

DIRT CREW
PLACES / DEEP (DIRT CREW) 12  - 103049
The Dirt Crew have been kinda silent lately. For a while there, it was remix after release after remix and we were wondering if they could keep their momentum up. Well, it seems the hiatus did them some good because this one is a winner. Very deep, but still very Dirt Crew. The bass on this A-side is sure to shake the very foundation of any club in any town.(DIRT016)MINIMAL HOUSE- 4/02/07-GE

RE BIRTH (REAL TONE) 12  - 106572
Franck Roger's delves into more Spiritual Life styled territory on 'Re Birth'. It features gorgeous pianos and strings, emotional chords, slick minimal percussion and some epiphanous moments brought on by melody not the obvious drum build or drops. 'Serenity' heads down a more Osunlade route going with the some great afro percussion, deep chords and some sweet live instrumentation. Rounding off this must have deep house ep is 'New Hope', a slightly slower but no less beautiful or funky number. BACK IN FULL!(RTR023)HOUSE- 9/17/07-FR

HARRY AXT
PULPFUNKTION (LEFTROOM LTD) 12  - 107633
Deep dirty driving hypnotic house action very much on the Poker Flat / Steve Bug tip. Remix comes via Dirtybird's man of the moment Worthy who adds more swing thanks to metalic percussion, a plodding bassline and a reduced vibe. This mix is pure filth and has a wicked John Tejada / Palette vibe. But wait, there's more. 'Congobudders' also heads down a funky swinging Palette street with deep bleepy jacking grooves, trippy sounds & effects. But wait, there's even more! 'One Way Ticket' has a deep delicious Liebe vibe, minimal quirky, funky and deep as funk.(LEFTLTD009)HOUSE-11/05/07-UK

WAHOO
DAMN *FREEFORM 5* (FINE) 12  - 107709
Another fine party rocker here from the Wahoo group. The original mix is a a sort of broken beat, yet still 4/4 house cut with a hot vocal and some chord stabs that are a throwback to "Pump up the Jam", so to speak. Also icludes remixes from Freeform 5, as well as Michi Lange. This one should easily be a big one.(886971402)HOUSE-11/05/07-GE

MAETRIK
FUTURE WILL *BREITBARTH* (TREIBSTOFF) 12  - 102053
Maetrik has been on fire lately! This 12" would be right up there with the best of them for him. Future Will Survive is a groovy minimal jam with some deepness to it, with some really random sick ass basslines thrown in, resembling some MISC stuff. Also a vocoded voice spelling things out from time to time. On the flip, Rene Breitbarth give it his special touch making it a bit more streamlined, and definitely solidifying its home on this label called Treibstoff. So, if you like the Treibstoff stuff than you wont be disappointed here.(TREIB70)MINIMAL HOUSE- 2/26/07-GE

SLUM SCIENCE & HOODFELLAS
EARLY SMOKE (SMOKE CITY) 12  - 107444
The new Smoke City imprint kicks off in fine underground house fashion, with this hot split EP from the Slum Science lads and the Hoodfellas sharing duties over three cuts. Slum Science’s “Down Time” is a serious groover here, with hypnotic horn samples and a chunky bass loop swirling around in a dense and dubby dnacefloor haze. Meanwhile the Hoodfella’s “3 Way” goes for jazzy approach with plenty of cut-up samples and choppy drums keeping things creative. Danny White’s re-edit is more of a stripped-down and tasteful approach for a nice late night mover. Excellent label debut for Smoke City.

More collaboratins and solo efforts complete this masterpiece bound for greatness.(CITRUSLP02)DRUM & BASS-11/05/07-UK

STATE OF MIND FT AXIOM
DEAD ZONE *BLACK SUN EMPIRE* (SOM MUSIC) 12  - 107801
FINISHED COPY PROMOS! New Zealand's State of Mind finally kick off their imprint in fine style. For the A they team up with Axiom on 'Dead Zone' which begins with State Of Minds signature ethnic vocals before dropping big time into some seriously grimey club business. Perhaps the toughest tune from State of Mind so far. On the flip you'll find a Black Sun Empire mix of 'Realy McCoy' which was originally released on CIA and found its way on to numerous compilations including High Contrast's 'Fabric Live' mix cd.(SOM001)DRUM & BASS-11/12/07-UK

PROPAGANDA
BLU 82 *promo* (OFFKEY) 12  - 107799
FINISHED COPY PROMOS! Propaganda returns from his huge Position Chrome release and drops a doozy for Offkey. 'Blu 82' starts innocently enough with haunting stings and a series of punchy breaks, but the mood is completely turned on its head by a roaring beast of a bass line that shocks the track towards a more sinister direction. The bassline resonates mercilessly while Propaganda injects heavy industrial breaks and beats.(OK009)DRUM & BASS-11/12/07-UK

SEBA
WARRIORS *promo* (SECRET OPERATIONS) 12  - 107800

It draws much influence from the early Metalheadz sound. 'Legion' on the flip is another dark number from Seba with horror movie strings, horn stab mayhem and ever evolving breaks that give the cut a Source Direct feel.(SECOPS009)DRUM & BASS-11/12/07-UK

ATLANTIC CONNECTION
ON THE GROUND *promo* (CELCIUS) 12  - 107803
ADVANCE WHITE LABEL PROMOS! Creative Source / CIA Deepkut's Atlantic Connection cooks up two bad ass productions for the Celcius imprint. 'Dimension X' on the A shows what kind of bass manipulation Atlantic Connection is capable of and we have to say, it's quite impressive. With samples lifted from old sci fi flix the track has a killer Martian virus vibe. 'Mindslip' on the flip reminds us of early Com
