MAIN ORDER LIST
October 17, 2007
I haven’t had a lot of time to go through the list completely, but here are the highlights – There is some really good deep house this week.  There is a massive amount of underground tech titles. The Hardstyle/Trance section is bangin’ this week – the best there has been in a while.  There are many quality bootlegs as well as some sneaky represses.  From what I heard Rob listening to – there are some sick choppy electro tracks as well.   Again, we don’t order everything and there are a LOT of titles that we only order one copy of, and that’s that we’ll ever get.  Even a simple head’s up will help us to help you.

Get your requests in by Sunday October 14th .

KINKY MOVEMENT
HIT AND DIP (DROP MUSIC) 12  - 106478
Drop Music return with another fine offering from Kinky Movement, a three track ep of deep jacking funky house action. 'Illusions' kicks off the festivities and is a bumping slice of Inland Knights styled chunky house with clever samples, a smidgen of funk and a touch of jazz and disco to boot. 'Be Bop' is next up and features a prominent vocal hook and more bumping jazz inflected chunky grooves. Rounding off this amazing ep is 'Say What' a deeper more shuffling monster with a super fat analog bassline, sweet beats and great touches of effects, pads and soul.(DRM054)HOUSE-10/15/07-UK

ROBSOUL LIMITED SAMPLER
VOL 12 *ROB BROWN/CHRIS SIMMON (ROBSOUL) 12  - 107184
Twelfth chapter in the Robsoul Limited Sampler series sees cuts from Odds & Ends' Rob Brown and a killer cut from Chris Simmonds. Rob Brown's cut is already a favorite with Dj Sneak and features a jacking tracky Chi-town vibe with clangy percussion  with lots of reversed reverb, deep bass and a bumpity vibe. Chris Simmons cut on the flip is a deeper more soulful jacking house gem with nice bits of female vocals, a slick Detroit-ish synth line, a very clever bassline made from various bleepy tones and swirling deep pads. Robsoul always deliver the goods!(SOULLTD012)HOUSE-10/15/07-FR

SEBASTIAN
WALKMAN 2 /KILLING IN THE NAME (ED BANGERS / BECAUSE) 12  - 107170
LIMITED WHITE LABEL PRESSING... One year after having released his first vinyl; the striking 'Ross Ross Ross' SebastiAn now comes again with a limited masterpiece as a teaser to his forthcoming album. On the A side, his smashing tune 'Walkman' gets even heavier with this new re-edit but it's all about the B side on this fucker where he gives Rage Against The Machine the nu rave treatment that just FUCKING GOES OFF AND EXPLODES WITH MASSIVE OVER THE TOP DANCEFLOOR ENERGY. You'll cream your skinny jeans when you hear this reworking.(BEC5772152)NU RAVE-10/15/07-FR

TERRY HUNTER
WONDERFUL *KENNY DOPE* (SOUL HEAVEN) 12  - 106513
Terry Hunter's recent smash hit "Wonderful" just got bigger with remixes from the inimitable Kenny Dope. Kenny provides both a vocal and instrumental on this plate and we have to say, they're fucking bad ass. Terisa Griffin's vocals are killer over Kenny's nasty beats on the vocal mix and the bassline is as funky as they come. The instrumental works the hell out of Kenny's breaky house beats and that fat new bassline along with the pushing stabs which come more to the front of the mix. An accapella is included as well on this package.(SHR016)HOUSE-10/15/07-UK

BUZZIN FLY
VOL 4 REMIXES *PROMMER* (BUZZIN FLY) 12  - 107028
Two outstanding tunes from Ben Watt's recent 'Buzzin Fly Vol 4' mix compilation get reworked into epic journeys courtesy of Christian Prommer and Spencer Parker. First up Christian Prommer reworks Pedro Madeira's 'Long Shadows'. We don't know quite what Christian Prommer is on these days but we'd like some of whatever it is. His remixes have been impeccible (Check his recent Wagon Cookin remixes on Compost HOLY SHEEPSHIT!). Here Christian delivers a mix that fits perfectly with Ame's "Rej" with a touch of Isolee's "Beau Mot Plage", deeply hypnotic, stunningly beautiful and quite funky. On the flip Spencer Parker turns in a bumping remix of Martin Brodin's "Freaky Bleepy", very much on the Justin Martin / Dirtybird deep jacking tip.(030BUZZ)HOUSE-10/15/07-UK

ROB PEARSON FT ROBERT OWENS
ESCAPES FROM MADNESS *INLAND K (PLASTIC CITY) 12  - 107222
Rob Pearson's "Escapes From The Madness" has a brilliand vocal coming from Robert Owens laced into deep and techy grooves, big bass and deep beats. Remixes on this plate come from Inland Knights and The Timewriter. The Timewriter is first up and provides a deeper and much techier rub reminiscent of old school Terry Francis material. Inland Knights serve up a chunkier harder hitting rub with dirty synths & bass, beefy beats and their awesome swing.(PLAX059)HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

BOOKA SHADE
NUMBERS / ESTORIL (K7) 12  - 107150
Booka Shade has the honor of mixing K7's next Dj Kicks compilation. Here we have a taste from what's to come, a track of his own which will be featured on the CD but unlikely make it to the LP vinyl companion. 'Numbers' is a typically polished production from Booka, a sublime slo mo groover which has been definitely dipping in the MDMA powder. There's the extended vocal mix of number which is a hypnotic slice of sophistocated tech-soul. 'Estoril' is magically reminiscent of Underworld at their most experimental and rhythmic. Rounding off this awesome package is the extended club mix of 'Numbers' which borrows heavily from the legacy of Detroits founders like Derrick May and Juan Atkins.(K7222)HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

PHUTURE
RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE *TIEFSCHW (STRICTLY RHYTHM) 12  - 107168
Apparently inspired by digging through their old records when compiling their 'Strictly Tiefschwarz' mix, the Berlin boys have delivered an exceptional remix of Phuture's "Rise From Your Grave". Already one of the more modern sounding records from Strictly Rhythm’s vast back catalogue, Ali and Basti have tweaked, cut, blended, and filtered to perfection. The wobbling baseline sets the tracks undulating tone from the start, and is joined by sharp claps and crisp hi-hats to give it an exceptionally polished feel. Fans of the original will be happy to know that the off key synths still feature heavily, while the unmistakable, aggressive vocal and harsh keys hit you late on to complete the ensemble and add to the records sinister ambience.(SR12645)HOUSE-10/15/07-UK

JIHAD MUHAMMAD
THE RUSH *REMIXES* (ASANTE) 12  - 107177
Jihad Muhammad's 'The Rush' originally appeared on the first Asante sampler and now finally finds a full release. The sweet jazzy main mix which has been a staple in the sets of Kerri Chandler, Quentin Harris and Danny Krivit is found on this platter along with two fresh new mixes. The first, 'Roots Urban Jazz Mix' sticks the beautiful moody trumpet line at the forefront of the mix giving it a dope Joe Claussell, Spiritual Life vibe while deep percussion, beautiful strings and deep beats keep it all locked together perfectly. The 'Dub' has a similar Spiritual Life / Ibadan vibe.(AR001BF)HOUSE-10/15/07-UK

TIGER STRIPES
MAD AT ME (GET PHYSICAL) 12  - 107219
The bassline in the title cut 'Mad At Me' has a huge Metro Area feel, pulsating single note action similar to 'Miura' but the track is pure darkness and evil with nasty synth action that freaks out in a Bobby Kondors 'Nervous Acid' kind of way. Mental shit! 'Survivor' has a bouncier more tech funk feel with a great processed piano hook and 'Nacht' is a soulful hypnotic electronic vibe with great Detroit elements.(GPM081)HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

RADIO SLAVE
NO SLEEP *PT 3* (REKIDS) 12  - 107234
Long awaited third part of Radio Slave's vinyl only and limited 'No Sleep' project arrives. We think this is the best one by far and features a Sound Channel mix of 'Dedication' done in a wicked jazz infused techno/house style that fans of Carl Craig & Theo Parrish should NOT miss. Please note this will NOT be available for download and the last pressing sold out on DAY ONE!(RKDS001)HOUSE-10/15/07-UK

DEADSET
BUZZER SAYS WERNER / CARD (FRONT ROOM) 12  - 107243
WHITE HOT 2 tracker here from Deadset off the Front Room label. The A-side is a dark and mental builder in the tradition of AME or Dixon. Super hot heavy floorfilling rhythms. On the flip, things get bouncy and tweaky with a thick deep bassline to pump the floor into a frenzy! Probably the best Deadset release yet. This one should be quite massive so we reccomend you do not sleep on this! Getting HUGE support from Villalobos, Luciano, Andrew Wetherall, Jamie Anderson, Laurent Garnier, Justin Long, Mr C, Ralph Lawson, Rob Mello, Layo & Bushwacka, Mike Monday, ..... ok.... you get the idea.(FRM018)HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

ROISIN MURPHY
LET ME KNOW *NEGRO/OAKENFOLD* (EMI) 12  - 106440
Joey Negro, Andy Cato and Paul Oakenfold all line up for remixes on Roisin Murphy's 'Let Me Know'. Joey Negro starts off in his deep Akabu soulful electronic style, slowly teasing in Roisin's vocals over a funk bassline and slick deep synth arpeggios. Paul Oakenfold makes a rare appearance and provides a tough Lil Louis meets trance styled mix.(12EM728)HOUSE-10/15/07-UK

TIMBALAND/FURTADO/GORILLAZ
GIVE IT TO ME/FEEL GOOD MAN (WHITE) 12  - 106510
More bang for your bootie buck on this four track naughty ep with house mixes of Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, The Gorillaz and Toto. Our fave on this number is by far the house retooling of Toto's "Africa", destined for a proper release on Data for sure...(PLA001)HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

SIMON BAKER
GUTTERLEVEL (20 20 VISION) 12  - 106673
Simon Baker has been making lots of noise in the underground with his 'Plastik' release on his own Infant imprint getting HUGE support from everyone from Sven Vath, Sasha & Digweed, Ivan Smagghe, Luciano and Erol Alkan. This track defied categorization and is still a staple in many a top jocks dj set. Here for his debut on 20:20, Simon takes his sound deeper than ever with a touch of acid and nicely filtering frequencies on 'Gutterlevel', a tune which has captured the ears of Steve Bug and Michael Mayer to name a few. On the flip is 'Bandit' a fave of label boss Ralph Lawson who has included it on his upcoming mix compilation. It has a more electro disco meets Lil Louis vibe.(VIS156)HOUSE-10/15/07-UK

CASSY
SOUL SAVIOUR (PERLON) 12  - 107133
Cassy makes a welcome return to the Perlon label with two sleek slices of deep house action. The title cut 'Soul Saviour' reminds us a lot of early Soul Phiction or Theo Parrish material with a sweet blend of sparse minimal percussion, soulful vocals and big bass hits. 'More Policemen On The Beat' is another deeply moving soulful house gem which once again proves that sometimes less is more.(PERL64)HOUSE-10/11/07-GE

SAMIM *promo*
HEATER *VANDALISM* (DATA) 12  - 106928

MIJK VAN DIJK PR MICROGLOBE
HIGH ON HOPE *MAZI & DURIEZ* (BRIQUE ROUGE) 12  - 107094
For over one decade, Mijk Van Dijk has been a player on the forefront of the electronic dance scene. His productions have rocked the hard techno, trance, minimal house and deep house scenes. Here for his first outing on Brique Rouge Mijk drops an epic slice of Underground Resistance styled deep techno meets house with brilliant key riffs that get jazzy very much in the Rolando style, slick drum editing, warped acidic bass and epic melodies giving the track a great uplifting vibe. By far the coolest shit we've heard on Brique Rouge in a LONG TIME. Mazi & David Duriez team up for the remix, a slick retro acid house fuelled rub with great 303 and 909 action, 'Strings Of Life' styled strings and dope driving beats.(BR065)HOUSE-10/15/07-FR

ABE DUQUE
FOLLOWING CONDITIONS (INTNL DEEJAY GIGOLO) 12  - 107171
The two sizzling cuts on this release are taken from Abe's much lauded recent CD album 'When The Fever Breaks'. They have not seen the light of day on vinyl and are both deep, dark and quite soulful house cuts with nice touches of acid and much techno flair.(GIGOLO215)ACID HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

LEGGZ & FEMI B
WERK THE HA (PEPPERMINT JAM) 12  - 107182
Soul Heaven's Femi B teams up with Peppermint Jam regular Leggz on this pumping slice of funky house action. It has a vocal that brings to mind George Kranz's "Din Da Da" but the production on this is 100 percent Mousse T styled beefy peak time gear. Explosive club house.(PJMS0106)HOUSE-10/15/07-FR

MORE BART B
SO IT GOES (TOOLROOM TRAX) 12  - 107038
Toolroom deliver an EP chock-full of wonky bleeps, mashed upbeats and sick basslines. The jewel in the crown is the Pete Tong & Zabiela fave (and former ESSENTIAL NEW TUNE), title 'So It Goes'! Teeming with colossal retro stabs, insistent vocal snippet and frenzied zipping FX. 'Hyped Up' follows a more Dubsided sound with freaky bleepy frenzied synths, dirrrty jacking beats and another perfect little vocal hook inciting dancefloor madness.(TRT37V)HOUSE-10/15/07-UK

FAIRMONT
FLIGHT OF THE ALBATROSS (BORDER COMMUNITY) 12  - 107057
The first single taken from highly anticipated debut album, 'Coloured in Memory' from Berlin based Jake Fairley aka Fairmont. His 'Gazebo' release on Holden's Border Community sold over 10,000 (or as we like to call it 'Ghetto Gold') and this release is every bit as stunning, experimental and beautifully melodic. Remixes from Metope, Christ (Jesus?) and Reef Carribean.(19BC)ELECTRONICA-10/15/07-UK

CHRISTIAN PROMMER
DRUMLESSON *BEAU MOT PLAGE* (SONAR KOLLEKTIV) 12  - 107090
After the phenomenal success of the "Strings Of Live" 12", this is the second single lifted from one of our most anticipated albums of the year, Christian Prommer's "Drumlesson". The A side features Christian's remake of Isolee's classic 'Beau Mot Plage' a jazz fuelled drum workout that does this classic justice! On the flip you'll find 'Rex Drums' a slow sleazy workout with low slung acid bassline, deep funky synth stabs and total Carl Craig vibe.(SK163)HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

CURSES
HUNGRY FOR LOVE (INSTITUBES) 12  - 107169
Straight outta Brookly, comes Curses aka Drop The Lime and this nasty three track ep of grimey Nu Rave and slick futuristic retro garage. The title cut 'Hungry For Love' is getting smashed daily by Mr Oizo and Sebastian and features screaming synth riffs, a barrage of filthy beats and powerful dirty bass. 'This Is The Way' comes in two mixes, the first borrows lots of retro drums and sounds including some beats and bass from M.A.R.R.S. 'Pump Up The Volume' and cleverly pastes it back together to form something fresh and quite forward thinking. The remix of this gets crazy on a grimey tip with huge ragga bass and broken beats.(INS12013)NU RAVE-10/15/07-FR

JOYFUL NOISE
UNDAGROUND SOLDIAS*J GUILLAUME (QALOMOTO) 12  - 107181

DOP
BETWEEN THE BLUES (CIRCUS COMPANY) 12  - 107237
Dark and creepy lead track here from DOP, who are making many waves in the techno world these days. Extremely versatile and unpredictable in their productions. The lead cut "Allo Boom Boom" is a creepy number along the lines of Run Stop Restore's "Geometry" and Roman Flugel's "Mutter". On the flip "Dopamin" is a classic example of the Circus Company house sound. Bouncy and fun and shuffly as well. Slight vocals buried underneath. Think Derrick Carter and Mike Shannon making music together and youre there. Finally "The Between Blues" is a downtempo hip-hop cut.(CCS022)TECH HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

Even a bit of the acid thrown in there too. Also contains a MEGA hot remix from John Tejada. Listening even closer now reveals some elements of old LFO or 808 State. Rave shit is back in full effect, evident on this wicked limited number on Lektroluv from The Subs. Only 500 copies of this BOMB are going to be pressed so act quick if you're into the big sounds of Sebastian or Justice. The synths on this piece are aggressive and noisy as they come with a rumbling sustained bassline and a massive building moment that sent Mr Oizo racing to the booth when he heard this one!(LL10LTD)NU RAVE-10/15/07-BE

SECRETSUNDAZE VOL 1 SAMPLER
V/A *TWO ARMADILLOS/KISSOGRAM* (SECRETSUNDAZE) 12  - 106901
Secretsundaze is one of the UK's best running Sunday afternoon parties and this release is a taste of the kind of deep grooving tunes that have made the party a six years plus success. First up are Two Armadillos (Dessous) dropping 'Warriors', a track which epitomises the vibe of the club, deep and soulful and quite electronic and chill. This would sit perfectly on Dessous, or Liebe Detail or Moon Harbour or even Mobilee. On the flip you'll find a James Priestly & Dan Berkson remix of Kissogram's 'My Best Friend Is A Seahorse' a dubby Rhythm & Sound flavored cut currently making big waves for Isolee. Both cuts are exclusive to this 12".(SS12001)HOUSE-10/15/07-UK

SIOUXSIE
INTO A SWAN *WEATHERALL/MEKON* (UNIVERSAL) 12  - 106951
Andrew Weatherall is a god when it comes to funking up the remix, especially here where he drops the low slung sleazy electro (breakbeat) funk for Siouxie Sioux's 'Into A Swan'. The bass on this mix is insane and very Aphex Twin styled. On the flip you'll find Mekon (Wall Of Sound) getting all old school on the mix, tearing out the vocal with nasty vocoded effects and filthy breakbeats.(1742058)HOUSE-10/15/07-UK

HIRO / DOMINO (REINCARNATION) 12  - 107001

ULTRA NATE
FIND A CURE *DHC ELETRO* (WHITE) 12  - 106962

FUTURE SOUND OF JAZZ 11
V/A *LANDSTRUM/JOASH/NO THEORY (COMPOST) 12  - 107008
Extra delicious 3 track EP previewing the forthcoming "Future Sound Of Jazz 11" compilation. Including tracks from Joash, a previously unreleased instrumental of No Theory's "Strictly" and a brand new joint from Neil Landstrum which is exclusive to this ep. All three cuts on this ep befit the spirit of the series, Joash's "Salome" is a heady, jazzy deep house smorgasboard of urgent strings, moody melodies and slick drum programming perfect for fans of Jazzanova. Neil Landstrum's "Jake's Room" didn't make it onto the final mix of the CD but was so amazing they felt obligated to let us have it on vinyl, a sweet concoction of deep techno, jazz and house. The instrumental of No Theory's "Strictly" is a must for fans of Ame.(COMP273)HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

Energetic sexy peaktime house gear from Nick & Danny Chatelain (NRK/Bambossa/Honchos) and Klement Bonelli. The long mix features a sensual spoken word female vocal from Dragonfly (Stealth Records), old school juno bass and a wicked Tenaglia vibe. The original mix is a powerful cut with incessant hard hitting stabs and some huge building over the top moments. This mix has been getting much run courtesy of Harry Choo Choo Romero, Roger Sanchez and David Vendetta.(KR02)HOUSE-10/15/07-FR

HUNTEMANN & WINTER
CRS / DRP (CONFUSED) 12  - 107214
Oliver Huntemann & Andres Winter take back over the production reigns after the Slovenian takeover of Confused (Umek & I Turk). The duo drop two slick deep dark electro tinged stripped down tunes on the dirty hypnotic and growling tip. 'CRS' the a side features slick jacking minimal shuffling beats backed by crisp hats, killer arpeggios and impressive sonic landscapes. 'DRP' on the flip is a bit deeper and features sustained growling filthy bass, trippy bits of synth elements and sparse beats resulting in something quite funky and very evil.(CON069)MINIMAL TECHNO-10/15/07-GE

BASTIAN HEERHORST
MARATHON *TOCADISCO/BUTCH* (ENVY MY MUSIC) 12  - 107218
Bastian Heerhorst is a name you'll be seeing a lot more of in the near future. His 'Marathon' is a huge slab of funky peak time electro house with nice touches of disco sounding like a mixture of Eric Prydz and Great Stuff / Craft material. Tocadisco provides a killer remix as does Butch (not surprisingly Craft / Great Stuff producer).(EMMR002)HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

PARALLEL 9 *STEVE RACHMAD*
TECHNIQUE EP (ARTLESS) 12  - 107236
Another more than welcome techno classic re-issue from the Artless label out of Berlin. This time, they chose a Steve Rachmad classic from 1997 called "Technique". Deep and Detroity and pumpin. Cross G-man with Basic Channel and the more direct side of Rob Hood and youve got yourself a ball game!(ART2197)TECH HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

DINO LENNY
COCA LOCA (KONTOR) 12  - 107240
BIG BIG tune here from Mr Dino Lenny. 'Coca Loca' is a dementedly dark warped slice of drugged up electro house gear that features a haunting heavily effected whispered vocal, bouncy synth riffs, a low slung 808 bell, the effervescent sound of a can of coke opening up and seriously twisted touches of grunting/screaming. The synths drop in pitch adding to the dementia of this awesome tune.(KONTOR639)HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

TOM CLARK
PT 2 SERVICE STATION RMXS (HIGHGRADE) 12  - 107245

Kiki & Sasse hit us hard with a nice dose of deep tech house thats designed for the head, as well as the floor. Beating rhythms with a catchy bassline thats sure to please. On the flip, things get a bit more epic and darker even with Detroity chord stabs and a tweaky element to keep the goodve going.(MOOD055)HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

BUKADDOR & FISHBECK

SVEN UK / ANDOMAT 3000
TRIBUTE EP (PLATZHIRSCH) 12  - 107261
YES! SICK stuff here from the combo of Sven UK and Andomat 3000. "Salt & Pepper" is a shaker of a track with tweaky and trippy sounds, with percussion that sounds reminiscent of Wishmountian's classic "Video"... or was it "Radio"... been too long. Either way, it's a good 'un. On the flip, "Tribute" is a headfuck of a house tune with a dark rumbling bassline and the signature Andomat 3000 dubbed out snare-claps.(PLATZ015)TECH HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

RAUDIVE
UNTITLED (WE ARE) 10  - 107274

TUGG / FELIX DICKINSON
GETTING HIGH/SMOKELESS MACHINE (CYNIC) 12  - 107291
Cynic is one of those little labels that many people overlook but have consistently been putting out killer tunes. Doc Martin is a big fan of the imprint and still plays many of their releases (especially the first release from Foolish & Sly). Here we are treated to two deep dark underground killers, the first from Tugg whose productions have been getting some major attention and whose previous efforts include drummiing for Faze Action, Basement Jaxx, Lady Soverign and Kano. Here Tugg unleashes the dirty acid funk reminiscent of RZ material with a definite nod to Trax with a more modern vibe. Felix Dickinson on the flip drops 'Smokeless Machine', a squelchy monster of a track with bongos flying in and out the mix and proper 303 madness.(CY006)HOUSE-10/15/07-UK

TOM MANGAN
GOOD WORDS (LORNA) 12  - 107247
Tom Mangan returns for a journey into tech house that can only be described as acurate. It's got the bounce, it's got the deep chords, and it's got the funk, baby! What more could you ask for?(LORNA04)HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

DIBABA
IN YOUR FACE IS THE PLACE (INTL DEEJAY GIGOLO) 12  - 107063
The title definitely has it right as the title cut from this Dibaba release is quite 'In Your Face' with rugged nu rave inspired aggressive synth action, jerky beats and party fuelled grooves. 'Teasing Jackie Blue Note' gets more technoid fitting somewhere between Vitalic and Hacker styled material. Rounding off the ep is 'I Shot The Taxman' a similarly styled romping tune.(GIGOLO216)HOUSE-10/11/07-GE

MENTAL OVERDRIVE
RUN TO THE HILLS (AIRTIGHT) 12  - 106900
Over the last few years Mental Overdrive has re-emerged as a force with mixes of Isolee's 'Beau Mot Plage' and strong releases on fellow Norwegians Prins Thomas' Full Pupp imprint and Bjorn Torskes' Smalltown. Here for Airtight drops one for the Crosstown Rebels fans, a mixture of twisted electronic disco, acid and tough almost techno infused grooves. Dirty Haze provides the remix, a wicked Emperor Machine styled rub with incredible synth action, live drums/percussion and deep epic melodic content that is unmissable for DC / Padded Cell fans.(AIR035)DISCO-10/15/07-UK

MOONBOOTICA
JUMP AROUND (MOONBOOTIQUE) 12  - 107119

DJ DLG & LAIDBACK LUKE
AMBITION *MASHTRONIC* (EYEZCREAM) 12  - 107179
Laidback Luke has been on a tear, killing it each cut on this second phase of his production career. Here with Dj DLG Luke creates a furious electro house stomper with a catchy vocoded part and stomping beats and uplifting synth action. This is very Swedish Maffia styled gear for sure. ESTROE VS ZOEXENIA
SWEET DREAMS (CONNAISSEUR) 12  - 107215
If Inner City's 'Big Fun' were written today it would likely sound a lot like the A1, 'Cherish' on this ep. It features a heavenly female vocal part backed by soulful and hypnotic synth elements, deep shuffling hats and minimal beats. The melody is very Inner City styled but the track is pure 2008 (that's right we're saying this is the future of electronic soulful house). Three more deep and soulful house cuts round off this package which has been getting plays from Ben Watt, Agoria and Tiefschwarz.(CNS018)HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

THEODOR ZOX
WHATS IN A NUMBER *DALESSANDRO (CRAY1 LABWORKS) 12  - 107216
'What's In A Number' has been getting early support from Martinez, Jeff Samuel and Dapayk Solo and features a wicked old school bassline which reminds us a bit of Underground Solution's "Luv Dancin", deep jacking beats and choppy cut and paste synth and sample action reminiscent of Akufen. Great blend of deepness, soul and quirkiness.(C1LW010)HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

HARDFLOOR
THE LIFE WE CHOOSE 3/3 (HARDFLOOR) 12  - 107220
Final installment in Hardfloor's 'The Life We Choose' series featuring more incredible examples of their mastery of the 303. 'The Question Remains' is like the deeper jazzier laid back kid cousin of 'Aceperience', souful, dark and simply wicked. 'Me Three' picks up the energy sounding like old school R&S gear with plenty of dancefloor punch.(HFLP02.3)ACID HOUSE-10/15/07-GE

The title cut here 'Yeah' has a sweet retro vibe sounding like a mixture of tough Jark Prongo gear mixed with deeper more hypnotic filtered stuff from say Chestnut ('Pot Of Gold'). The melodies on this one are killer and filter through frequencies, get all delayed and effected and snake throughout the deep jacking and quite soulful beats. On the flip 'Zavirox' gets tougher on the techno tip and has received plays from both Josh Wink and John Acquaviva.(EC075)TECHNO-10/15/07-BE

GREENS KEEPERS
THE COLOR PINK / SOME HELP (GREENS KEEPERS) 12  - 106990
SYNTAX EXCLUSIVE! This one might as well be a mini LP with four outstanding cuts from James Curd, Nick Maurer and the rest of the crew. 'Some Help' is every bit as catchy as their blockbuster 'Lotion' more on a deep funky house tip with bouncy beats and a great vocal. The title cut 'The Color Pink' features a big disco injected bassline and a punkier Talking Heads vibe. On the flip 'Days of The Week' features a clever vocal racing through the days of the week and some great bits of jazz funk reminiscent of earlier G Swing material with an updated and funkier feel. Dj Sneak & Phil Weeks are back together for a funky house feast on the Robsoul label. 'Around Villejuif' is a deep jacking tune with touches of filtering, plenty of drum funky and clever programming and a nasty touch of analog bumping synth bass. The second mix of this tune features more jacking funk and less filtering and adds some slick breakdown and start/stop action. On the flip 'Gods House' does borrow a few samples from the DHS classic but works them in such a deep and funky way it's just irresistable. Getting much props from Derrick Carter and Brett Johnson.(ROBSOUL57)HOUSE-10/01/07-FR

LOOK MA NO DRUM MACHINE (BALIHU) 12  - 26467
REPRESS ALERT! The germans just cant seem to get enough of the Daniel Wang/Balihu sound. So, they went and repressed the record that started it all! "Look Ma, No Drum Machine" was completely massive about 14 years ago. Huge disco sample, tough organic drums. Trust us... youre gonna want it. The first batch of this repress blew out of here quicker than previously imagined! We expect this pressing to do the same. CHYMERA
WISH / EUCALYPTIC (NRK) 12  - 106563
Ireland's Chymera releases his debut release on NRK after dropping a beast of a release on Josh Wink's Ovum. 'Wish' has been drawing comparison to the mighty Underground Resistance's "Knights Of The Jaguar" and oozes with deep undulating techno class and Detroit influences laced into a deep pulsating rhythmic groove. House, Techno, Trance heads alike will freak on this one. 'Eucalyptic' on the flip has an old school Orbital vibe thanks to some great melody work but proper futuristic drums & grooves.(NRK134)HOUSE- 9/17/07-UK

BLACKJOY
METAL BOSSA *RESTLESS SOUL* (PROJECT) 12  - 106707
Blackjoy return to the Project Recordings imprint after two heavyweight ep's for the Freerange ep and their massive "Moustache" which originally appeared on Yellow Productions', Art Of Disco imprint and later got licensed to NRK where it saw some mixes from Prins Thomas & Franck Roger. Here their "Metal Bossa" tune taken from a forthcoming album gets the remix treatment from Phil Asher. Mr Asher provides three mixes on this platter, all heavy on the soul. Our favorite is the vocal mix where Phil gets super deep and funky on the production while Sandra N'Kakes provides an oustanding vocal performance. This shit is heavy folks! Hands down the best thing we've heard from Restless Soul in a long time!!!(PRO011)HOUSE- 9/24/07-FR

DIRTY 30
DISCO APOCALYPTO (IM A CLICHE) 12  - 106711
Dirty 30 first popped up on our radar screen on Truffle Music which saw much support from Brennan Green (who remixed the project), Idjut Boys, Dj Spun, Ben Cook and a slew of other twisted disco junkies. Here with 'Disco Apocalypto' they've already seen support from Simian Mobile Disco who say 'the best record we've heard in ages', Joakim, Tim Sweeney and Francois K. It's a funking, grinding slice of twisted disco meets acid house reminiscent of Dj Harvey's remix of Extended Family's "Ulysses". Super cool shit!(CLICHE010)DISCO- 9/27/07-FR

MICHELLE AMADOR
BECAUSE OF YOU *YORUBA SOUL* (SICK TRUMPET) 12  - 106735
Vocalist Michelle Amador has a smokey jazzy voice that has a similar vibe as Amy Winehouse. Here her laid back soulful jam 'Because of You' gets some dope remixes. Osunlade dons his Yoruba Soul monniker for his rub, a deep electronic mix that fits perfectly into the Ame/Ferrer sound as of late, super sexy and soulful. Atjazz provide a minimal breaky mix that lets Michelle's vocals do all the work while minimal percussion, deep broken chords and beautiful strings fill in the rest of this very cool arrangement.(ST007)HOUSE- 9/24/07-UK

MARC SCHNEIDER
BUDDAH CALL / IN DOUBT (WAS NOT WAS) 12  - 105257
Marc Schneider delivers some tech house madness ont his one! Definitely one to get the floor moving. Really cool chord stabs making up the rhythm, as well as some other added FX thingys. The coolest thing is a snare roll that kida rides underneath the whole time, but never really comes to the complete forefront. Nice trick!(WNW014)HOUSE- 7/02/07-GE

RALPH SLIWINSKI
MAGGIZAHN (HARTCHEF DISCOS) 12  - 106291
Heavy Trentemoller vibe on the title cut on this dope ep from Morris Audio's Ralph Sliwinski. It features tough crunchy and quite funky and soulful grooves with dirty booming bottom end, rugged swinging beats, a nice vocal part and twisted bits of noise, crackles and synths. 'That's In My Brain' has a dope Green Velvet vibe and is quite funky and twisted as well.(HCF13)HOUSE-10/01/07-GE

MARBERT ROCEL
BEATS LIKE BIRDS *D GREED* (COMPOST) 12  - 106737
Stunning track from newcomers Marbert & Rocel. "Beats Like Birds" has a gorgeous Charles Webster vibe with laid back breezy jazzy grooves and a breathtaking vocal. The chords are warm and fuzzy and the track has a delicious delicate vibe. Douglas Greed provides the remix, a slightly tougher yet no less soulful mix which has more of a Herbert vibe about it.(COMP271)HOUSE- 9/24/07-UK

MICHAEL KAISER & KILLABEATZ
EMERGENCY (PARADISE) 12  - 106574
Michael Kaiser & Killabeatz retool Foreigner's rock anthem 'Emergency' into a dancefloor bomb. Three mixes on this platter, the first is a slightly filtered and quite massive electro house stomper with that unmissable part of the chorus from the original laced in. The 'Dirty' mix delivers as promised, a filthy electro funk mix laced with bigger synth and drum action. Finally the 'Club' mix has more of a crossover commercial feel.(PARADISE54)HOUSE- 9/17/07-FR

FRIVOLOUS / FRIENDLY PEOPLE
RUDIOS Y FRECUENCIAS *A UNDER* (APNEA) 12  - 104020
Damian Schwartz released "Rudios Y Frecuencias vol 1" a while back and it was a huge success. So, the good folks over at Apnea found it to be an appropriate candidate for a remix package. The first one on this comes from Freindly People (Alex Under's guise for his more darker projects), and the result is an extremely hypnotic piece without any real kickdrum. Perfect for an opener or REALLY freaking people out at the afterhours. On the flip, Frivolous adds his wacked out funk to the package, making it a peak hour minimal house stormer!(APNEA14)MINIMAL HOUSE- 5/07/07-GE

RAZ OHARA
WHITMEY NA  *GEIGER/NASS* (KINDISCH) 12  - 104769
Kindisch first expolded onto the scene with Jay Haze's now classic "Soul in a Bottle" and havent let up since! And, if you werent aware, they are the child label of GET PHYSICAL. This release is now the 7th release, and quite possibly the best one yet! The original is an almost beatless tune with a dreamy deep vocal. To remix it, the crew got Geiger (aka Nass) to do an absolutely GORGEOUS late night pure techno classic! The way the vocals are used on his mix are incredible. Sounds like he was going for an old FINGERS/OWENS kind of feel. DEEEEP pads and shimmering ride cymbals make this one magical in the late hours, and also great for open air. And, just in case you arent feeling the vocal, they kindly provided an instrumental of the Geiger remix as well.(KD007)HOUSE- 6/11/07-GE

Heres a welcome repress! The good folks at Artless went and busted out an old highlight from the Rene et Gaston archives. You might recall one of the sides from Kevin Sauderson's "Transmissions From Deep Space" X-mix from K7. This track wasnt very widely released back then so repressing it was MORE than a good idea! ART BLEEK
ANTICHAMBRE (RUSH HOUR LTD) 12  - 106841
Art Bleek have been producing jazz for years and this is their first forray into the world of deep house and techno. The title cut skirts the line between the two, probably more appealing to super deep house headz with beautiful electronic melodies, deep shuffling beats and a nice touch of jazz to compliment the atmospheric grooves. 'Damaged Language System' on the flip will certainly appeal to deep techno headz with a 303 bassline, cavernous reverb on the Detroit-y bleepy synths and deep minimal beats. LEROSA
DESIGN EP (A TOUCH OF CLASS) 12  - 107041
The always brilliant A Touch of CLass label brings us another fine release. This time, it's Dublin based Lerosa who delivers a nice well rounded EP based around tech housey stuff, deep housey stuff, and a borderline techno cut in the vein of Anthony Shakir. Truly sick stuff on this one folks. Getting huge supposert from Laurent Garnier and Sebo K.(ATC019)HOUSE-10/08/07-GE

KJ GIBBS
OUTLAW APPRECIATION (TITBIT) 12  - 107054
New bit of bouncey and housey stuff from KJ Gibbs (aka Kenneth James Gibson, or Apendics Shuffle) on the Titbit house label. 3 originals from Mr Gibson here with the production techniques you would expect from him, with a touch of added boompty boomp. Solid house jams that should work well in most any setting. Also contains a nasty remix from Giancarlo Lanza aka D.A.T.A.(TITBIT07)HOUSE-10/08/07-GE

ADAMS SOZ
PALE THIN GIRL *INXEC* (ESPERANZA) 12  - 104767
For minimal techno, Esperanza almost can't be beat. Always very interesting stuff that just rocks the house! Soz Adams cooked up a marvelous one for this release. Heavy on the drums and FX and all the tweaky things we come to expect. Also included is an extra sick remix from Contexteriors Inxec. Dirty and nasty, just the way we like it!(ESPERA006)MINIMAL TECHNO- 6/11/07-GE

STRATEGY
PACIFIC AGENDA (DRECK) 12  - 107031
Strategy is a producer based out of Portland who has had a huge amount of respect in the west coast techo community for some years now, and is finally getting more stuff out there. This one for the Dreck label is some completely deep mental madness at it's best! Think Theo Parrish and Basic Channel collaborating and this is what you would get. Keep your eyes peeled for more from this guy! We have a feeling he will continue to do great things in 2008 and beyond.(DRECK14)TECH HOUSE-10/08/07-GE

P TOILE
BIRD EP (TRENTON) 12  - 104433
P Toile comes back again to Trenton Records for a 2 tracker which falls into the trippy tech-house category. Kinda Someone Else-ish crossed with Tejada.(TREN019)MINIMAL HOUSE- 5/29/07-GE

MINILOGUE
INCA EP (WIR) 12  - 104434
This new one from Minilogue has got instant classic written all over it. Maybe because most of its influence is taken from an already classic in it's own right? Not sure. All we know is that if we were to be in a mid-nineties late night SWEATBOX of a party, this would be what we would want to hear! "Inca" is a slow building minimal acid jam that takes major influence from the classic "ACID EIFEL" by Choice, off of Transmat sublabel Fragile Records. Its got a neo-trance feel to it, but then again, so did Acid Eifel! The difference here is that as it builds, it gets more and more twisted with detuned stabs that are sure to think youre about to lose control. This WILL be one of the bigger records this summer, just so you know. Oh, and the flipside is good too.(WIR009)MINIMAL TECHNO- 5/29/07-GE

THOMAS FEHLMANN
HONIGPUMPE (KOMPAKT) DP  - 104656

MONOMACHINE
BOMB JACK (CATWASH) 12  - 104766
Monomachine is a duo who are well respected in the Spanish and Chilean electronic music scene, who go by the names of Inigo Oruezábal and Francisco Allendes. Both tracks are tweaky and techy and will bounce well into the night. Perfect for a Catwash release.(CATWASH010)HOUSE- 6/11/07-GE

HOLGER ZILSKE
ENDURO DISCO (LEENA) 12  - 104891
Holger Zilske is given the honor of the first release on the newly formed sublabel of MOBILEE called Leena. The a-side is on the deeper mental side, while the flip is more pumpin than we are used to out of this camp. Dark basslines and light chord stabs are abound on this solid release.(LEENA01)MINIMAL TECHNO- 6/18/07-GE

Gurtz goes it alone from his partner in crime, Dilo, and shows us he's got what it takes on his own as well! Grumbling minimal techno jams that will rock the party well into the morning hours.(EINMALI022)MINIMAL TECHNO- 7/02/07-GE

PETE SHELLEY /DRINK ELECTRICIT
WITNESS THE CHANGE/SUPERSTITIO (SUPERSOUNDS) 12  - 106113
One of a number of awesome dub/instrumental versions from the ex-buzzcock, this is a big new york alternative dance fave and also found favour with baldelli and the gang. They've beefed it up in mastering and stretched it out to save you tracking down doubles of the original - an increasingly tricky task these days.(NYNX3001)EDIT- 8/20/07-UK

HARDFLOOR
THE LIFE WE CHOOSE 2/3 (HARDFLOOR) 12  - 106200
More twisted acid house business from the masters of the sound, Hardfloor. 'Who You Gonna Call' is on the deeper and funkier side of the spectrum with great 303 action, driving beats and great touches of effects on the moody melodies. 'The Life We Choose' sounds like a mixture of Hardfloor's patent
