GREENS KEEPERS
THE COLOR PINK / SOME HELP (GREENS KEEPERS) 12  - 106990
SYNTAX EXCLUSIVE! This one might as well be a mini LP with four outstanding cuts from James Curd, Nick Maurer and the rest of the crew. 'Some Help' is every bit as catchy as their blockbuster 'Lotion' more on a deep funky house tip with bouncy beats and a great vocal. The title cut 'The Color Pink' features a big disco injected bassline and a punkier Talking Heads vibe. On the flip 'Days of The Week' features a clever vocal racing through the days of the week and some great bits of jazz funk reminiscent of earlier G Swing material with an updated and funkier feel. Rounding off this awesome package is 'Wish I Could Fly' which has a heavy funk influence, great touches of percussion and that unmistakable Greens Keepers dancefloor vibe.(GKM021)HOUSE-10/08/07-FR

The second mix of this tune features more jacking funk and less filtering and adds some slick breakdown and start/stop action. What we get are three dirty, haunting deep tunes that fit perfectly with recent label offerings, trippy, techy, driving and perfect for those more twisted times on the dancefloor. 'Up And Over' is particularly twisted with sparse urgent synth arpeggios, bits of dubby psychedelic delays and off kilter little synth builds that break back in with 'Nervous Acid' styled drops.(CRAFT026)HOUSE-10/08/07-GE

MARC ROMBOY VS STEPHAN BODZIN
ARIEL / MAB (HERZBLUT) 12  - 107081
Longtime friends & production partners Marc Romboy & Stephan Bodzin team up once again to sick effect on this Herzblut release. 'Ariel' features a droning buzz that sounds like a plane divebombing the dancefloor while slick funky shuffling beats and minimal percussion drive the groove forward. Very catchy, funky and recognizable in the vast sea of unmemorable cuts out there. On the flip 'Mab' is a bleepier more minimal shuffler with quirky melodies, twisting grooves and haunting sounds.(HERZ006)TECHNO-10/08/07-GE

NACHO MARCO
THE LOVE *MIKE SHANNON* (LOUDEAST) 12  - 107083
Nacho Marco returns from his lauded release on Freerange to deliver this funking slice of deep house for Loudeast. 'The Love' has a similar feel good vibe as his Freerange release and features deep jacking beats, delicious electronic melodies and uplifting strings / pads. Wagon Repair's Mike Shannon provides the remix, a techier more brooding rub which Troy Pierce has been dropping in his sets.(LDS001)HOUSE-10/08/07-GE

DAPAYK & PADBERG
BLACK BEAUTY THE ALBUM *DP* (MOS FERRY PRODUCTIONS) DP  - 107087
First full length from Dapayk & Padberg in quite a while. Deep dubby percussion with infinite deep grooves that spank their ways through dark clubs providing the soundtrack to an atypical night out. Strange sounds for strange people. Getting rave reviews from Mike Monday, Mr C, Tom Clark and Italoboyz.(MFP031LP)MINIMAL TECHNO-10/08/07-GE

NATURAL BORN CHILLERS
ROCK THE FUNKY BEATS *DAFT* (WHITE) 12  - 107114
Tough Micky Slim styled reworking of the Natural Born Chillers classic 'Rock The Funky Beats' with hard hitting electro house synths and even tougher dancefloor beats.(RTFB001)HOUSE-10/08/07-UK

FEAR OF THEYDON
REMIXES (SUNDAY BEST) 12  - 107116
Take Lemon Jelly, add a healthy helping of Beyond The Wizards Sleeve, a sprinkly of In Flagranti, some Optimo and Quiet Village and you begin to get confused, and a starting point for Fear Of Theydon's incredible sound. They're quite unique, funky ranging from deep abstract Warp styled remixes to more dancefloor oriented indie killers. We love this ep which features four remixes from Fear Of Theydon who have been donned 'The Best Unsigned Act' of 2006 and judging from this remix package, we'd agree wholeheartedly.(SBEST49)LOUNGE / DOWNBEAT-10/08/07-UK

ALEXANDER ROBOTNIK
MADE IN CHINA *UNIT 4/ORGUE EL (CREME) 12  - 107148
Hot remix package from Creme. Including remixes by Unit 4 (deep driving nu school disco kind of thing), Orgue Electronique (an amazing chicago house remix with a strong bass line..) and a more straight 4/4 mix by Robotnick himself. Each mix is pretty fucking amazing here folks.(CREME1224)ELECTRO DISCO-10/08/07-NL

GAY CAT PARK
IM A VOCODER (CLONE CLASSIC CUTS) 12  - 106779
Highly sought after Italo classic, originally released on Il Discotto Productions in 1982. Fantastic song about what being a vocoder is like. One of the funniest & sneakiest but super cool and hip talodisco records ever now once again available thanks to Clone Classic Cuts.(C#CC009)ELECTRO DISCO-10/08/07-NL

REJEKTS
ES KUBELLS (REJEKT) 12  - 106842
Sounding like a hybrid between a Crosstown Rebels release and a Get Physical release, this is the first release on Rejekt Musik. Already getting support from M.A.N.D.Y, Claude Vonstroke and Layo & Bushwacka, this label and the Rejekts (long time Sankeys Soap & Tribal Gathering Resident DJ Iain Taylor) are definitely something to be on the lookout for.(REJEKT001)HOUSE-10/08/07-UK

BATTANT
KEVIN 1987 *WEATHERALL* (KILL THE DJ) 12  - 106992
Incredible slice of indie-electro-punk gear from Battant featuring Chloe on vocals. Andrew Weatherall gets wicked on the remix, slicing it up into a Stone Roses meets Chicken Lips styled banger currently getting mad props from Joakim.(KTDJ011)ELECTRO-10/08/07-FR

DAVID TORT & DJ RUFF
LA GIRLS *DJ DISCIPLE* (SPIDER) 12  - 107014
Big tune at the moment for Erick Morillo and Roger Sanchez, 'L.A. Girls' is a sexy electro house cut with a heavy Spanish vibe in its original form. Dj Disciple's mix adds an eastern vibe thanks to some wicked new melodies, deep jacking percussion and perfect use of the sexy vocals.(SPIDER007T)HOUSE-10/08/07-FR

SPEKTRE
MYTH (DANCE ELECTRIC) 12  - 107080
Spektre returns to Oliver Huntemann's Dance Electric with their third rock solid release. Their twisted take on modern dark minimalism has earned them fans like Tiga, Oxia, Miss Kitten and of course Mr Huntemann. 'Myst' is definitely one of their strongest releases to date with dusky trancey elements backed by wobbly basslines, tough driving beats and warped sounds & effects. The breakdown on this tune is old school and goes off! 'Winterfall' is a more stripped down cut with really pumping beats, off kilter synths, crunchy sounds and nasty effects. Has a cool Trentemoller vibe.(DAN016)HOUSE-10/08/07-GE

VANGELIS / CLAUDE LARSON
MULTI TRACK SUGGESTION/64K RAM (SUPERSOUND) 12  - 107147
We're nearly at the end of the Cloud series and this time we've got a couple of uber-cosmic album only rarities given the full 12" treatment for the first time. Vangelis "Multi-Track Suggestion" is simply awesome for for freaky dancing or chilling, gently re eq'd and spread across a whole side of a 12" like never before. Claude Larson's '64k Ram' is simply bonkers, off-kilter stuff from a super-rare library album.(CLOUD008)EDIT-10/08/07-UK

MARTIN RUSHENT

You might not know Martin Rushent's name but you're bound to know a few of the bands he's produced, most notably Human League, The Stranglers, The Buzzcocks and XTC amongst others. This debut single "Itchy Hips" is a piece of late 70's styled disco with a modern twist, full vocal and full disco motion. The dub has a wicked RONG vibe to it.(TIRK028)DISCO-10/08/07-UK

ARNE WEINBERG
PARABOLUM (AW RECORDINGS) 12  - 106807
If you're into the deep undulating dub sounds of Chain Reaction, DO NOT MISS THIS WICKED RELEASE from Arne Weinberg. Heavy dub delays and Detroit techno sounds on the title cut 'Parabolum' with 'Microscopic' heading down a similarly deep Detroit avenue with gorgeous melodies and less empasis on the heavy delays. Rounding off this amazing release is 'Omega Rising' another slice of the deepest techno around.(AW009)HOUSE-10/08/07-NL

ARSENAL
SHU QI NI DE TOU FA *KRAML* (PLAYOUT) 12  - 106828
Excellent remix package here. First up is Andre Kraml who turns in a sleazy underground mix of "The Coming", very much in the dirty jacking electronic vein of his releases on Crosstown Rebels. On the flip you'll find a Midnight Mike remix of "Shu Qi Ni De Tou Fa", sinister, dark and a real rework masterpiece totally tearing apart the original vocal sung in Chinese.(POM007)HOUSE-10/08/07-UK

KIT CLAYTON & SUTEKH
I LEFT MY HEART IN SAN FRAN (ADJUNCT) 12  - 107027
West coast boys Kit Clayton & Sutekh hit us with a big one on the Adjunct label. A split 12" here with an original from Mr Clayton and an original from Sutekh. Kit's is a mean one, pumpin, grindy and acidic. Broken beats with dirty basslines and lots of FX swirling around. Sutekh's is more like what were used to from him. Broken beats with the bounce he is known for. Also a catchy synth line that has classic written all over it. Also contains remixes from Dilo and Jorge Savoretti.(ADJUNCT16)TECH HOUSE-10/08/07-GE

PIGON
PROMISES (DIAL) 12  - 107030

STRATEGY
PACIFIC AGENDA (DRECK) 12  - 107031
Strategy is a producer based out of Portland who has had a huge amount of respect in the west coast techo community for some years now, and is finally getting more stuff out there. This one for the Dreck label is some completely deep mental madness at it's best! Think Theo Parrish and Basic Channel collaborating and this is what you would get. FLYING LOTUS
RESET (WARP) 12  - 107098
Debut Warp EP from one of the world's freshest and most anticipated production talents, and (much publicised) blood relation to Alice Coltrane. "Reset" is the first taste of new material from the Lotus and just doesn't disappoint, offering up some of the heaviest, most cleverly produced beats we've heard this year. The trick here is, of course, the robust production, making use of an almighty low-end that underpins every track, accompanied by a filthy swing that Madlib would be proud to call his own(WAP228)ELECTRONICA-10/08/07-UK

SPICELAB
REBREAK / RESTART (HARTHOUSE) 12  - 107082
Oliver Lieb don's his Spicelab guise once again for this double dose of dark demented tech funk. Definitely on the more techno side of the spectrum, 'Re:Break' has dirty synth action, hard hitting beats and a thumping bassline which gives the tune some crazy rhythmic action. 'Re:Start' on the flip is a similarly fashioned dark and dirty technoid bomb perfect for fans of Claude Vonstroke, Martin Landsky etc..(HHMA015)TECHNO-10/08/07-GE

THE CHEAPERS
FOGS & FROGS EP (UPON YOU) 12  - 107088

DJ YELLOW
FOREVER AND NEVER MORE (SLIP N SLIDE) 12  - 106853
DJ YELLOW has always had his finger on the pulse thus encouraging him to release the first, "Bossa Tres Jazz" tracks on Yellow Productions label. He signed artists like Salome De Bahia and has worked with the likes of Masters At Work, Dj Gregory and Martin Solveig to name but a few. Here for Slip N Slide Dj Yellow drops a sleek and quite hypnotic deep house number that definitely borrows some of that Dj Gregory haunting, entrancing synth action. David Alvarado, who we're quite fond of and haven't seen anything from in quite some time turns in a stunning deep house mix that will go down big time with Ferrer / Ame fans and rounding off the package is a mix from Phillip Charles (Ovum). Vocalist Michelle Amador has a smokey jazzy voice that has a similar vibe as Amy Winehouse. Here her laid back soulful jam 'Because of You' gets some dope remixes. Osunlade dons his Yoruba Soul monniker for his rub, a deep electronic mix that fits perfectly into the Ame/Ferrer sound as of late, super sexy and soulful. Atjazz provide a minimal breaky mix that lets Michelle's vocals do all the work while minimal percussion, deep broken chords and beautiful strings fill in the rest of this very cool arrangement.(ST007)HOUSE- 9/24/07-UK

It has a delicious Jimpster / Freerange vibe about it with beautiful melodies, deep hynotic elements and great shuffling beats.(PB006T)HOUSE- 9/24/07-FR

SASSE VS NAUGHTY
ALL GOOD / SICK AT HOME (BATTLE) 12  - 106857

DOMESTIC HOUSE
BABY OLIVER
PRIMETIME/HYPOCHONDRIA(ENVIRON) 12
More hot and twisted tracks for disco jackers and neurotic nu-romantics courtesy of nviron’s BABY OLIVER. "Feelings 2" sounds like an out-take from Prince on the day he forgot to take his meds, with the result cut and sliced by Ron Hardy and served up by the Hot Mix 5 on WMBX. Always unpredictable, Baby Oliver flips the usual male lyrical cliche and tells his lover, "You just give me sex when I need a love fix - and you know that's not the same." The B-side is a slow-building, dark epic called "Shot Caller" that juxtaposes the sounds of gunshots with the famous Linn Drum rim shot sound in a wry sonic pun. Sprinked with vocal garnishes rendered from memories of Depeche Mode and Art of Noise, "Shot Caller" is sure to drive your dancefloor wild. Excellent stuff for those who like the twisted dirty disco of the Rong and Environ heads. ENV027) 10/05/07

BACK TO THE HOUSE EP (OM) 12  - 105288
All original new music from Mark here. Perfect to mix with, his fans will love this Ep of tracky funky weirdness. First track "Bringin'It Back"(GLA mix) reflects an old school cut up brand of house that incorporatesa retro bassline complete with Farina's trademark jack and odd vocal snippets throughout, takin' the dancefloor back to house music's origins in Chicago. A-2 "Bringin'the Track" is the perfect old school mix track complete with sparse driving beats and Farina cuts a  plenty. Flip for "Bringin It Back"(Motto Mix)  more for late night mixing and to finish is "Borders" a glitchy downte  mpo house tune with a bouncey feel that takes us full circle through the mind of the mushroom jazz master.(OM268)HOUSE- 9/20/07-US

TROYDON

Two originals by Formidable Force and and a remix of each one by Bon Johnson and one by Kink. "Can You Feel It" is a house pounder with quite a few unexpected quirks and vocal drops sounding like a sample from Gwen McCrae's "Funky Sensation". 80's style influences have been time warped into oblivionvia a disco ball.
