PRYDA
MURANYI (PRYDA) 12  - 106425
Eric Prydz's position as on of the consistently hottest producers in dance music seems to be getting cemented further and further by his regular stream of fat releases. This new 2 tracker on his now legendary Pryda imprint is simply devistating. The title cut "Muranyi" is a constant building bomb that teases and teases with slick pads and synths before the monstrous drums finally drop and the track takes on a massive hypnotic and percussive vibe with a killer bassline and super catchy riffs. The flip side has a similar feel to the '123' track with its deep trancey intro before dropping into a catchy, funky club groove that is so infectious its scary. Another killer, another landmark release - say no more.(PRYDA009)HOUSE- 9/10/07-UK

MARK BROOM
NEW LIFE *DONACHA COSTELLO* (MINIMISE) 12  - 106541
When we saw the title, we were hoping for a Mark Broom cover of "New Life" by Depeche Mode. Well, that's not the case, but it makes up for that by being a huge bomb! A lil different for Mark. Synthy, but not too much. Nice edits all around, dark piano used for a bassline. All kinds of neat tricks, actually! But, on the flip, label bossman Donacha Costello brings it out the best he has in quite some time! Deep and bleepy in a Mika Vanio/Sleeparchive sort of way, while still maintaining elements from the original.(MINIMISE33)MINIMAL TECHNO- 9/10/07-GE

GUILLAUME & THE COUTU DUMONTS
PARISIO 91.90.77 (OSLO) 12  - 106446
Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts' last release on the Hartchef Discos was a huge tune with a wide variety of top dj's including Luciano, Ame and Christian Prommer to name a few. Not to take away from the other two very good tracks on this ep, but 'Mederico' is simply an irresistable tune with clever and quite catchy glass melodies, trippy pads, soulful and funky percussion, bleepy synth action and slick shuffling beats. It's like an afro party meets a great Cadenza record, like Osunlade and Villalobos doing a track together.(OSLO003)HOUSE- 9/10/07-GE

LUKE MONTY & TASHO
PARANOID *TODD BODINE* (MOTHERSHIP) 12  - 106499
Claude Von Stroke's Mothership Label is off to quite a good start! First was the Italoboyz with "Viktor Cassanova" and now this fine release from Monty Luke & Tasho. "Paranoid" is a jackin acid romp thats bouncy and playful with a vocal of someone saying "I think I'm parano-o-o-oid". On the flip, Todd Bodine goes nuts on the original making it even more jackin and tweaky.(MSHIP002)HOUSE- 9/10/07-GE

JOHN TEJADA /CABANNE
7TH CITY CLASSICS VOL 2 (SEVENTH CITY) 12  - 106503
The second installment of the 7th City classics series of re-releases on Dan Bell's own imprint. This time around, John Tejada's "Timebomb" gets the A-side. This one is classic Tejada, folks! Deep and Detroity with a hint of disco flavor, but not much. It's jackin and primed for a party. On the flip, Cabanne's "Can't Stand". A stripped down and dry example of pre-minimal hype tech house. When this came out, there wasn't a huge demand for Minimal, which is why it's such a welcome re-release.(SCD023)TECH HOUSE- 9/10/07-GE

MODESELEKTOR *2000 AND 1 RMX*
DARK SIDE OF THE SUN (BPITCH CONTROL) 12  - 106536
Modeselektor returns for a preview of the new record for Bpitch. "Dark Side of the Sun" is a hip-hopish cut with heavy damn near grime rhythms and a killer vocal. The main reason to buy it though, is the 2000 and 1 remix. Dark and Detroity with shimmering FX work and thick drum beats.(BPITCH157)TECH HOUSE- 9/10/07-GE

BUTANE / SWEET N CANDY
VISIONQUEST RMXS (DUMB UNIT) 12  - 106539
Collection of 4 remixes here of Butane & Sweet n Candy originals. All 4 were done by the trio of Ryan Crosson, Seth Troxler and Lee Curtiss under the guise Visionquest. Well, 3 of the tracks anyhow. 1 was done by Lee Curtiss on his own. All of them are sonicly exceptional. Some darker than others, but all quite twisted in that Ricardo Villalobos weirdo productuions sort of way. Lee's mix on his own is a bit darker and heavier than the rest. Definitely reccomended!(DU039)MINIMAL TECHNO- 9/10/07-GE

LUCIO AQUILINA

KING & ROCK
WICKED *DJ FALK* (TIGER) 12  - 106172
King & Rock have the unenviable task of following up Ericke's club smasher "Boogie Down" which also saw some help from Fedde Le Grand. The duo more than hold their own with "Wicked", a big club house anthem backed by a catchy vocal hook, pulsating key changing bass, great building moments and pummeling dancefloor beats, an old school key stab interlude adds a great note of nostalgia on the original mix. Spinnin's Dj Falk turns in a masterfully crafted remix that takes the track super deep into late night locked on subterranean dancefloors.(TIGER43)ELECTRO HOUSE- 9/10/07-GE

PUZIQUE
DONT GO (BOYS NOIZE) 12  - 106360
Puzique return to Boyz Noize for an absolute ROCKER of an EP. The lead off cut sounds like somewhat of a collab between Discovery era Daft Punk meets Boys Noize. A feel good hit for the summer, if you will. After that is an ULTRA dirty rocker with the drums sounding straight from Chicago in the early 90's. The closer is more of a deeper cut with the same methods of distortion, but with a darker feel.(BNR015)ELECTRO HOUSE- 9/04/07-GE

CATZ N DOGZ *3 CHANNELS*
ARMADILLO EP (LEENA) 12  - 106368
Duck low! This one is coming STRAIGHT for your head! The boys from 3 Channels deliever one of the sickest cuts of the year to the Mobilee sublabel Leena. The A-side is a shimmering yet deep Detroitish sort of cut with warm pads and chord stabs all around. But, it is the B-side which is the total minimal MONSTER! Starts off with a simple groove with a really catchy sequence of edity things and just keeps growing til you dont even know whats happening anymore! HAVE A GOOD TIME *SINDEN* (PASSENGER) 12  - 105492
Have A Good Time is Aquasky's first single in over a year and sees them taking up in the sunny state of Florida teaming up with local booty bass legend Acafool. Acafool drops a wicked vocal performance that has a rugged dirty south appeal ala Ludacris over a bumping Miami bass production that rocks. The Count Of Monte Cristal and Sinden get large on the flip with a mix that adds a bit of wobbly fidget action mixed up with a dope speed garage bassline.(PASA034)HOUSE- 9/06/07-UK

HYPER
NO ROCKSTARS (KILOWATT) 12  - 106430
More aggressive breakbeat action from the inimitable Hyper. "No Rockstars" features dirty guitar hooks coming from Jim Davies, bass heavy beats, nasty electro hooks and great vocal parts. This mix is already a firm favorite of Adam Freeland, Digitalism and Rennie Pilgrem. On the flip Aussi outfit Bass Klef turn out the mix, a D Ramirez styled house meets breaks rub with tight electro house production.(KWTT032)BREAKBEAT- 9/10/07-UK

SOUL OF MAN FT RAGGA TWINS
TROUBLE *DEEPCUT* (FINGER LICKIN) 12  - 106401
'Trouble' by name, trouble by nature, Soul Of Man are back wreaking havok with this rolling slab of breakbeat madness featuring the inimitable Ragga Twins belting out the rude boy lyrics. Their original mix is a hard hitting number with incessant over the top stabs, a rolling nasty bassline, trippy effects, booming beats and the rough and rugged vocals of the Ragga Twins. Deepcut's mix adds a techier vibe with edgy synth action, building beats and all of the rough and rugged energy of the original.(FLR080)BREAKBEAT- 9/10/07-UK

BRANCACCIO & AISHER
FREAK AROUND *KOMA & BONES* (BURRITO) 12  - 106431
Another surprise from the Burrito kitchen, with a tasty main course served up from Brancaccio & Aisher (Bedrock/Credence/Renaissance). This is not exactly what you'd expect from either Burrito or Brancaccio & Aisher but it's quite the funky number taking 80's funk keys, a quirky vocal and lacing them into a funky little breaky LCD Soundsystem meets the Scissor Sisters styled number. On the flip Koma & Bones tear the track apart adding an unstoppable electro meets breaks vibe that is extra large.(BURR018)BREAKBEAT- 9/10/07-UK

UNIQUE 3
ROCKS THE BASS *SI BEGG* (FAT) 12  - 105723
Following Unique 3's recent re-release of his classic 'The Theme' comes this brand new single including a massive remix rinseout by none other than Si Begg!! The original version of 'Rock The Bass' combines old school synth bleeps and distorted bass stabs with punchy 4/4 breaks and diving subs. Si's mix is an even deadlier mix of breaks, subs and squelch. BACK IN AFTER A REPRESS!(CTFAT044)BREAKBEAT- 7/23/07-UK

JMEKKA
WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN (IBREAKS) 12  - 105725
Here the label welcomes back JMekka, Robosapiens and Andrea Lai to its roster with this double shot of tech-breaks pressure. DIGITAL BASE
WHITE LINE (IBREAKS) 12  - 106465
Last Digital Base track on Ibreaks was a monster and came along with a spanking remix from General Midi. Here Digital Base goes it alone on two edgy rocking breaks tunes starting with an ode to their favorite Columbian jungle juice, "White Line". This is a huge building breakbeat bomb with dirty beats, equally filthy synths, acid licks and grungy bass. "Miriam" is next up and is a similarly styled funking breakbeat bomb.(IBREAKS014)BREAKBEAT- 9/10/07-UK

SPECULUM
NYMPHO *MOWGLI* (USED & ABUSED) 12  - 106467
Speculum follow up Elite Force with this third release on the Used & Abused imprint. "Nympho" is a raunchy and quite twisted breaks anthem with warped beats and bass, freaky synth action and pure peak time energy. You have to hear the way Speculum fucks with each and every sound on this tune twisting it along with your mind folks! NASTY SHIT!(UAA003)BREAKBEAT- 9/10/07-UK

AUTOMAT
BLACK STAR (POINT ONE) 12  - 105673
This track first appeared as a bonus track on the extended CD version of Automat's Alias Modifié EP back in 2004 but never on vinyl until now. Highly limited one-sided release of the bass-heavy 'Black Star', a crunchy bass-fueled monster that sounds like a cross between Ed Bangers and Aphex Twin with a wicked acidic riff and long hypnotic build. REPRESSED!(PTOLTD001)ELECTRO- 7/19/07-UK
