New to most people's ears, South London based Kaine has been in the

Hooker track. It's a huge dancefloor cut with layer upon layer of shimmering
melodies, rumbling bass and rather entertaining breakdowns. Support comes from
Prins Thomas, DJ Harvey, Steve Kotey and Timmy Regisford. On the flip, "Welcoming
Idaho" is a future balearic classic, with a hauntingly familiar yet fresh

LOOK WHAT YOUVE DONE TO ME

Fidget house meister Herve is a
man of many pseudonyms, well known for his Count Of Monte Crystal stuff on
Counterfeet and of course his Dubsided work as Herve and now Voodoo Chili.
'Look What You've Done To Me' is all about making the girsl dance, and to this
end he kicks it off in a proper up-tempo disco ball fashio with the squelchiest
of bottom end and beats like the kind your mamma warned you about. The
psuedonym theme continues with Erol Alkan delivering a wicked remix under his
'Mustapha 3000' guise, taking this tune so deep into the underground that your

SPACE (TRAUM) 12 - 105988
Minilogue have been quite busy
lately! This new one for Traum is a big one! Not as trancey as Inca or Ogular
were, which some might think is a pretty good thing. Whatever your feelings on
that subject are, Space is hard to deny. A full fledged, well composed monster
of a track. Lots of quick ups and downs and a shuffle thats hard not to nod
your head to. On the flip, Star Command gets deeper and pretty with a hint of
acid buried underneath. Nice and trippy, too. Just the way we like
it!(TRAUMV89)TECH HOUSE- 8/06/07-GE

THE WAVE *IG CULTURE* (FAR
OUT) 12 - 106027
The latest 12' pressure on Far
Out Recordings comes straight out of Rio de Janeiro, via London Town
and New York City. IG Culture provides the production
injecting a serious hip - hop edge to proceedings with more twists and turns
than a New York Subway. The remix comes dressed in an instrumental as well as
the full vocal version. These two tracks are definitely the cuts for the floor.
The beats are less complex but much groovier and combine with string bends on
the double bass to add a true jazz/headz/hip hop flavour, The Plan mix stands
alone but mighty high in this fresh as you like EP with drum splices galore,
and cinematic explosions breaking into a blue note groove. The 12' is sure to
appeal to fans of jazzed out live hip hop in the vein of The Roots and Madlib
as well as broken-beat heads(FARO119)HOUSE- 8/06/07-UK

Fresh steps up with a turbo-charged version that sounds like a cross between
Fedde Le Grande and Radio Slave, using less of the vocal in favour of a
twisted, modulated keyboard attack- mental!! His 2nd mix adds rolling tech

opens with toxic sounding bass and Blade Runner-esque sounds over Del Rey's
cold vocal delivery before the full beats finally kick in and the darkness and bass
truly take over. Montreal's Guillame and The Cotu Dumont leave

Lindstom, as in Hand Peter
Lindstrom lays a funk smackdown on this tubular 10" from Japan's fresh Outergaze label. This is pure Harvey, Rong
and Rub N' Tug material all the way, with two mixes doing the damage for the
retro-disco-dub heads out there. A-side mix is more of a punky stompy funk
thing while the B-side indulges in lush strings and all the gooey disco candy
we love. Spectacular. LAST COPIES LEFT!!(OG009)HOUSE-10/11/05-US
HOTT 22
FEEL SO GOOD (GOSSIP) 12 -
93905
Big tune right here for the
disco strutters. NYC's Hott 22 crew laying down the thickness with "Feel
So Good", a super-chunky disco looper that totally recalls Spiller's
classic "Groovejet" with its cut-up loops, disco strings and nasty
drums. Massive filtered drop on the A-side original. The flip Hott 22 mix is
more of a peak hour houser with a serious big room Soulfuric pumping energy
and jumbo bassline. Definitely a feelgood groover for the Benedetti, Dimitri
from Paris, Ian Carey fans out there. BACK IN

CAPTAIN BOOM BOOM (FETISH)
12 - 85547
Big time summertime blazer from
the man JOEY YOUNGMAN and his always on-point Fetish label. This is the label's
first 3-track EP, and this one is huge, anchored by the peak time funker
"The Switch." Massive popping bass, cut-up and delayed 80s funk
samples and jamming underground drums - this is thereal deal with that Youngman
quality production touch. Deepeer vibes on the flip with
"Snuffleupagus", as Joey goes for a bit of a tribal deep beneath some
cool chord hits and hip-hop vocal samples, while "Love Life" is pure
west coast deepness a la Miguel Migs or Moulton Street. BACK IN!!(FR008)HOUSE- 7/06/05-US

2X12 (OUTERGAZE) DP - 90084
Hans-Peter Lindstrom blesses
the ever-reliable Outergaze imprint with a 2x12 of wriggling cosmic disco and
future house flavors, essentially a compilation of his early works. Spacey fun
for all ! "Take Me To The Metro" is a big track here, with crazy
electrified strings, ice-cool bass guitar and bright jazzed-out keys.
"Juazza" is forward thinking beats with and startling guitar melody
while "Eery" has a tough tough bass and slower beats. Totally grrovy

Lee Pasch returns to Tidy and
brings us his follow up to his massive single release earlier entitled 'Get
High' & 'Pumped-Up Funk'. Lee goes down a similar path with 'Feel It',
bouncing electro bass lines and uplifting female vocals combine to take you
down the more laid back side of the Hard House sound. The legend that is Dom
Sweeten makes a rare appearance on Tidy in his 'Base Graffiti' guise. Taking up
remix duties duties, Dom really takes the track to a whole new level and throws
in some 'Pump & Chunk' for good measure!!(TIDY251T) UK HARD HOUSE- 8/13/07-UK

DOMDEVIT (SPINBALL) 12 -
106058
The UK's Dom Sweeten {Base Graffiti/Od 404} uncorks two
slabs of hoover-tastic Hard House energy here on the excellent Spinball label.
The a-side 'Domdevit' sees Dom grab a hold of the classic 'Mentasm' synth sound
and get properly freaky with it, creating one of the most memorable and
effective hooks we've heard in a Hard House track in ages! The flipside track
'Beat Freak' is an equally effective blaster for the big rooms out
there.(SPINBALL15)UK HARD HOUSE- 8/07/07-UK

SEARCHING FOR SUBSTANCE
(WEST) 12 - 106059
Swedish producers David West
and Inkfish go on a mission to bring the chords and class back to the
progressive sound here on West's own West Recordings imprint. 'Searching For
Substance' has a timeless sound to it carried on by thick rolling low end, deep
emotive chords and female vocal hints, all held together by deep, driving beats
and anthemic builds. These elements cry out for an electro remix which Anjunabeats
own Boom Jinx provide! His mix is a tougher and err, umm, electro-ey affair
with grungy bass riffs, stutter stabs, chunky percussion and an in yer face
attitude that works very well indeed.(WEST001)ELECTRO HOUSE- 8/07/07-UK
