"Last Night A Dealer Saved My Life" has a similarly haunting vibe with a sultry and twisted vocal part. It comes in two fabulous mixes. The first sounds like, well a lot like "Rippin Kitten" with a similarly moody, melancholic and funky vibe. AFRIKA BAMBAATAA

PLANET ROCK *BEAT MACHINE* (WHITE) 12  - 104572

SUNSHINE SONG *JJK/ARNO COST* (CR2) 12  - 104603

Second set of UK-only remixes of Nicole's WMC anthem 'Sunshine Song', with John Julius Knight and Arno Cost delivering a pair of mixes each. Cost's first mix is a pumping electro house re-rub that smartly uses the original's female vocal hook to the best of its ability, over revamped synth lines, tricky, subtle effects, pumping electronic beats and a roof-raising buildup. Henrik's mix is an 11 minute epic masterpiece featuring Mari's sensual and mysterious vocals over a production that builds and builds with slick percussive loops and bass & synths that drop in and out in unison. There's also one killer percussive synth interlude that drifts off into outerspace. Big ups on this from Ame, Dixon and Dirk Rumpf.(1721216)HOUSE- 1/15/07-GE

JAMES HARCOURT

GALIA MELON *LEE COOMBS* (SPINOUT) 12  - 104508

Galia Melon is a rough and rugged electro house cut with superb shaking synth action backed by beefy beats and off the wall sounds that perfectly compliment the synths. Filthy big room appeal on this mix for sure. Well, here we go again, folks. A new hit for AME off of the Innervisions imprint. This one is a 2 tracker in their traditional signature style. 2 slow building floor movers that work the feet as well as the head. Not QUITE as magical as "Rej" but 2 hits nonetheless.(IV11)HOUSE- 6/04/07-GE

KLOCKWORK

#2 (KLOCKWORK) 12  - 104590

GREEN MEN *CHACONA/SASSE*

THE FOG *DARSHAN JESRANI* (MOOD MUSIC) 12  - 104591

Nick Chacona did some gigs last spring in Berlin and had some more sessions with Mood Music head honcho Sasse (aka Freestyle Man) and this is one of the results of that. A long and drawn out funky builder that starts out on the housy tip with a simple bassline, jangly percussion, and some nice jazz keys. As it progresses, it gets a lil darker and leads up to an absolutely brilliant breakdown with one of the fattest, sickest basslines we've heard in quite sometime! Gets the crowd screaming EVERYTIME we've heard it played out. They also got Metro Area co-hort DARSHAN JESRANI to lend his skills to this, and he makes it a disco influenced monster. Also included is a cool dj tool edit done by Sasse. This is well on the way to being one of the bigger recrds this summer, so dont sleep!(MOOD052)HOUSE- 6/04/07-GE

TRICK & KUBIC

BELIEVE (GREAT STUFF) 12  - 104457

After a long break in the studio Trick & Kubic come all the way back with this anthemic electro jam! Whispered vocals and a squelchy lead riff set the main cut 'Believe' off to a great start, getting better and better thanks to twisted synth riffs and more intense vocals. The flipside track 'Container' works a manic slap bass guitar line and freaky synths over a driving electronic beat. Two amazing sides to choose from!(GSR046)ELECTRO HOUSE- 5/29/07-GE

PLASMIK

INTERSWAP (CONNAISSEUR) 12  - 104456

Wicked track from these two brothers, who have something coming on Crosstown Rebels very, very soon. Here they break off 3 slices of tight, minimal electronic house in their trademark style. Warped & modulated subs intertwine with tight, punchy kicks and subtle acidic keys for a powerful dancefloor ride.(CNS014)MINIMAL HOUSE- 5/29/07-GE

SPEKTRE

CLONE (HEIMATMELODIE) 12  - 104459

Super heavyweight electro/tech workout from Spektre {Dance Electric} here on Heimatmelodie. The intro synths fade out into some mad bleepy keyboard patterns and sick bassline drop. The flipside works in a similiar pumping fashion, scaling back the bleepiness a tad to let the basslines really FLOW.(HEIMAT002)MINIMAL TECHNO- 5/29/07-GE

MINILOGUE

INCA EP (WIR) 12  - 104434

This new one from Minilogue has got instant classic written all over it. Maybe because most of its influence is taken from an already classic in it's own right? Not sure. All we know is that if we were to be in a mid-nineties late night SWEATBOX of a party, this would be what we would want to hear! "Inca" is a slow building minimal acid jam that takes major influence from the classic "ACID EIFEL" by Choice, off of Transmat sublabel Fragile Records. Its got a neo-trance feel to it, but then again, so did Acid Eifel! The difference here is that as it builds, it gets more and more twisted with detuned stabs that are sure to think youre about to lose control. This WILL be one of the bigger records this summer, just so you know. Oh, and the flipside is good too.(WIR009)MINIMAL TECHNO- 5/29/07-GE

Originally out two years back on the Deeplay Soultec imprint, this amazing slab of deep techy soulful house gets revived by Defected's Italian house team, the Pastaboys. The Pastaboys give the track a similar treatment as they did to Ame's "Rej" giving it a heavy tech treatment that perfectly balances the dubby deepness with dancefloor power. Buzzin Fly's Rocco also provides a remix on this plate and the original and 12th Floor (Raw Fusion) mixes from the original are also featured on this awesome package.(KR01)HOUSE- 5/29/07-FR

DOMESTIC HOUSE

DIGITAL VILLAINS

BUSTED SPEAKERS W/JOEY YOUNGMA (JACKIN TRACKS) 12  - 103331

Digital Villains is Lee Mintram from the UK. "Busted Speaker" is a well jackin' house track in all it's glory. a slice of fresh club drivin' music that's perfect for this label. Combining the sounds of the past with the newest tricks and a touch of class. A-2 for Joey's remix steering far from his  signature sound, it comes closer to what you might expect from a coupling of Justin Martin and Jacob London with a very strange vocal. Flip for Joey's "Disco Madness" remix. A full side reminescent of the Subliminal Sound of around 1998 with the Youngman touch added.(JT012)HOUSE- 5/29/07-US

MICHOACAN

MISTAKE KINDNESS FOR WEAKNESS (SMASH HIT) 12  - 103294

The a-side's "Drowning" is one of his most thrilling jaunts to date and has been wrecking heads in San Francisco since last summer. A gorgeous dark piano hook into a signature Michoacan 4/4, replete with live hats and snare, twisted bells, plenty of swing to move your 'ting, all of it leading to a jaw dropping disco not disco bassline and blissfully edgy    arpeggiating synth. If that isn't enough he takes it up a notch with a breakdown that shifts the b-line to an almost reggae one drop feel before taking it home with more synth and string action. Flip for "Running Back", trippy pads and atmospherics set the druggy overtone. Deep, somber keys provide the insistent hook. Swinging sixteenth note hats and the    best cowbell line ever punctuate the OG disco punk meets paradise garage drums all supported by the funkiest of evil basslines.(SHMEP08)HOUSE- 5/30/07-US

DEEP HOUSE PROJECT

JUST MOVE W/ROY DAVIS JR (DEEP HOUSE PROJECT) 12  - 103567

Main mix features Roy Davis Jr on slick old school flavored vocals supported with tinkling keys and jazzy synth horns that make way to a delicious break that leads into some searing percussion and serious bass all joining together for a jaw dropping, refreshing reintroduction to some real house music. Next up is the Jimpster mix, a deep edged straight ahead affair accentuated with big keys and Roy's vocal right up front and center. A midsection that pulses and hesitates and then drives on with an enveloping deepness that pulls you in. Gorgeous! Last up is the dub, a wildly percussive take with  Roy's vocal setting the tone. Pumping bass and tabla drive the energized big sound with breaks that twist and distort  only to launch back into the infectious groove.(DHP006)HOUSE- 6/01/07-US

CROSS BRONX EXPRESSWAY

TRAFFIC JAMZ EP (BLUE LABEL) 12  - 103076

Fresh talent from the Blue label, this time in the form of Italian American duo Cross Bronx Expressway. A-side features "The One", working a sample which some may recognize and a classic diva vocal-all brought together with thick filters and wrapped into the perfect dancefloor package. Flip for "Turn You Out", another classic sample as used on an old Henry  Street record(among others), with soulful and completely obscure R&B vocal riding  on top. Lastly "Just One Groove" takes the vocal from the main cut, throwingitover a nasty late night groove reminiscent of some of the East Coast sounds of the mid nineties. FINALLY BACK IN AFTER A LONG ABSENCE!(BL08)HOUSE- 4/02/07-US

JONES BRYAN

DON KING EP W/J LETTO (RINGSIDE) 12  - 103330

Bryan Jones returns to his own Ringside imprint in good form. Bringing with him newcomers J Lettow and william Alexanderfrom Lingo Recordings fame. Kicking off is "Make You Move" a pure funk bomb, complete with stellar piano and horn loops and those trademarked Bryan Jones drums that never fail. Next up is "Vibe Like Tonight" is the pick of the platter. Building up with a tough as nails disco loop that drops into a delicious groove half way through. Flip for "Hold Tight" a sinfully sleazy hip house jam already receiving massive support from the usual suspects. Last is "Rub On The Fat Booty", another rap sample fiasco with a bumpy bassline, vocal bits and a very twisted vibe. BACK IN STOCK(RR003)HOUSE- 5/14/07-US

UNDER COVER LOVER

UNDER COVER LOVER VOL 1 (UNDER COVER) 12  - 104437

Limited Ep of special remixes. A-1 is a remix of Nina Sky's hit "Move Your Body" by up and coming producer Mark Militano. With current projects for DJ Heather and Fred Everything in the works Mark goes for a mix reflecting his pop sensibilities. It's a deep and percussion driven take with groovey guitar licks and techy accents. Should work for your soulful and deep crowds as well as the mainstream. B-1 is a redoo of Cassie's "Me and U" by L.A.'s S. Deezy. Stays very true to the original while adding some shuffly house beats and choppy stabs. The sub bass is crushing and when the vocal drops watch out for this party rocker! B-2 features one half of Hustle n Flow in his Mile High guise. With a recent hit on Kolour and new projects coming on Control, Herbal Essence and Greenhouse he takes Q-Tip's classic "Breathe and Stop" and turns
