BROWN & FRANDANSKI VS ORIGAMI
CROSS THE POND (DROP MUSIC) 12 - 102814
SYNTAX EXCLUSIVE! The Inland Knights Drop Music imprint serves up another fine slice of house funk courtesy of Brown (Myna/Drop Music/Aroma) Frandanski & Origami. "Switched On" the A1 is a bumping slice of house funk very much on the Inland Knights tip with a male vocal that has a similar vibe as Gwen Stefani's "Holla Back", very hip shit! "Not The Only One" is next up on the A and has a more funk fuelled vibe with a slick funk bassline, dope shuffling beats and a real cool vocal too. Rounding off the ep is "My Baby's Ass" another shaking funky house number based around some great old school soul / funk samples and a bit of disco action.(DRM052)HOUSE- 5/07/07-UK
BRYAN JONES & SCUD BLOOM
DUTCHMASTERS (FARRIS WHEEL) 12 - 103882
SYNTAX EXCLUSIVE! After a HUGE outing on the Aroma imprint the dynamic duo of Bryan Jones & Scud Bloom return to re-inaugurate Gene Farris' Farris Wheel imprint. The a side's first cut is by far the funkiest of the ep and quite possibly the funkiest shit we've heard from either of these fantastic producers. It features a breaky house vibe, broken vocal samples that build the track into a frenzy, tough beats that switch up to breaks and back. This mix is a big tune for Dave Taylor right now. Next up "Westside Bump" has a funky Inland Knights vibe with big bumping bass, nice bits of jazzy instrumentation and bouncy synth riffs. "Loungin" on the flip goes down a Da Sunlounge route and rounding off the ep is "Down Like That" a bumping Chi Town killer.(FWR015)HOUSE- 5/07/07-FR
BOOKA SHADE
TICKLE/KARMA CAR (GET PHYSICAL) 12 - 104125
'Tickle' aims to give you just a little taste of Booka Shade's upcoming 3rd album project and as always the boys' sound is HUGE. The track combines hypnotic bleepy synth riffs with off-kilter chord stabs and deep, pulsating basslines. On the flip is 'Karma Car', a chunky, tight 4/4 workout thats housier than alot of the stuff we've heard from them so far. Brilliant stuff!!(GPM070)ELECTRO HOUSE- 5/14/07-GE
GUNS N ROSES VS DIRTY FUNKER
WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE (WHITE) 12 - 103362
Dirty Funker work their magic on Guns N Roses unmissable anthem "Welcome To The Jungle" rinsing it out in a dirty jacking peak time dancefloor style on the A, working the heavy guitars nicely with extra cowbell, the full vocal and rugged beats. On the flip there's a slick electro house fuelled dub that goes off!(DFGR001)ELECTRO HOUSE- 5/14/07-UK
DEPECHE MODE
GET THE BALANCE RIGHT *BEAT MA (WHITE) 12 - 103955
The mysterious Beat Machine provide a rugged Peter Gelderblom flavored reworking of Depeche Mode's "Get The Balance Right". Tough beats, big electro tinged synth riffs and some bleepy backing provide the perfect backdrop for Martin's vocals. LIMITED STOCK!(BALANCE001)HOUSE- 5/14/07-UK
KIDD STACY FT XL
THE MOVEMENT *DJ FUDGE* (DEFECTED) 12 - 104048
Stacy Kidd is an underground trooper with an extensive catalog of releases to his name. His debut for Defected is the party rousing "The Movement" which fuses uplifting, soulful vocal samples and time honored disco licks with driving four to the floor beats. Dj Fudge comes correct on his mix dropping heavy analogue sounds into the mix giving it a heavy duty Switch meets Franck Roger feel.(DFTD155)HOUSE- 5/14/07-UK
THE THE / Q LAZARUS
GIANT *PILOOSKI* / GOODBYE (DIRTY EDITS) 12 - 104044
Another killer batch of Dirty Edits. We have also learned that these are always one off pressings so we've upped our initial order as the demand for these releases is HUGE! The A side of this release is taken from the seminal 1983 The The album "Soul Mining". This is a "cold sweat" version, without the african voices of the original done by Pilooski. Krikor gets dirty on the flip rocking out Q Lazarus' "Goodbye Horses". This mix is huge with the likes of Erol Alkan, Simian Mobile disco and Joakim.(DL06)EDIT- 5/14/07-FR
JOHN TEJADA
WAVESCRAPER (PALETTE) 12 - 104090
John Tejada coming full steam ahead trying to change his style up a bit. Still the typical Tejada grooves but not as formulaic as his recent stuff. This one is destined to rock the parties, which I suppose most of his stuff does, but you get the idea. Anyways, it's Tejada. You know you want it!(PALETTE045)MINIMAL TECHNO- 5/14/07-GE

SOLID GROOVE/SINDEN
DIN DA DA (COUNTERFEET) 12 - 92700
Limited live release from Solid Groove and Sinden's brand new Counterfeet label. The boys share a love of fat filthy beats and cheeky samples which you'll find here in abundance on this hot 4 tracker. By far the biggest thing here is their remake of George Kranz' 'Din Daa Daa' that packs the filthiest beats, sub bass and drum edits with snippets of vocals nicked from the original. Also on board includes a remake of Pharell's 'Can I Have It Like That' that gets turned into a chopped-up dancehall banger hammered by Diplo and Scratch Perverts. FINALLY RE-PRESSED!!!(COUNT001)HOUSE- 3/16/06-UK
ALFONSO MANGO
CAN YOU FEEL *RADIOSLAVE* (MADE TO PLAY) 12 - 103970
SUPER HOT WMC TUNE ALERT! The Original as well as the NASTY Radioslave mix of this was considered the record of the whole conference this year. Yeah, its the record with the guy saying "can you stand the rain" in it. The original rocks full frontal on the house tip, while of course Radioslave gets sludgy and dirty to scare you into dancing! HIGHLY reccomended.(MTP007)HOUSE- 5/07/07-GE
KURD MAVERICK
LETS WORK (KONTOR) 12 - 103799
Brand new electro house thrasher from the mighty Kurd Maverick of 'The Rub' fame and so many hot remixes therafter! 'Let's Work' is basically a rework of LNR's acid house classic 'Work It To The Bone', with re-done vocals, synths and basslines that bear only a slight resemblance to the original tune. Amazing production, tight sounds and an extended buildup with trippy fx makes this one stand way out from the current electro house crowd!!(KONTOR611)ELECTRO HOUSE- 5/14/07-GE
SWEDISH MAFIA
GET DUMB *ENGLISH MAFIA* (WHITE) 12 - 104042

Soda Inc do Kim Wilde?? Indeed!! Babak Shayan and Jon Silva aka Soda Inc deliver a spot-on cover of Kim Wilde's 'Keep Me Hanging On' remixed by some of the finest names in the game. G-Pal's mix opens up, stretching across the entire a-side in a hypnotic, dirty house fashion that will be HUGE with the Twilo/Space heads out there. Morgan Page's remix adds a more electro touch to it followed by an acidic Roberto Baldini mix.(PLAX054)TECH HOUSE- 5/14/07-GE
YSE
BOUNCE BACK *BURNSKI* (LOST MY DOG) 12 - 104144

AFROMENTO FT DJ FUDGE
BAHIA (BLOCKHEADZ) 12 - 104059
Afromento return with three summer slices of deep latin inspired house funk. The title track "Bahia" sounds like a mixture of Azymuth & Masters At Work with sweet chanting vocals, peppery horn sections, big latin bass, wicked keys and shuffling beats. "Suspended Chords" has more of a slick Franck Roger deep house feel with great percussion, edgy electronic synths and some wild synth progressions for the headz. Rounding off this ep nicely is the tribal house number "Casba Latina" which reminds us of Salome De Bahia's "Outro Legar". Sweet offering from the Blockheadz imprint!(BR006)HOUSE- 5/14/07-FR
JOHN DAHLBACK
I SLIDE (PICKADOLL) 12 - 104081
JD delivers another set of dancefloor grenades here on his very own Pickadoll imprint. 'I Slide' is a slammin' electro-flavoured monster tune with an almost Hooverish bassline that just wrecks anything it touches. Add some cool vocals and fierce drumming to the mix and this is easily one of Dahlback's fiercest jams to date.(PICK023)ELECTRO HOUSE- 5/14/07-GE

TSUNAMY (SYSTEMATIC) 12 - 104122
Dusty Kid is better known to most of you under his Duoteque moniker which has given us so many killer releases, particularly on the Boxer Sport label. Here on Systematic he drops two slices of electro/rave/tech madness for you. The title cut 'Tsunamy' comes with a blistering rave lead synth line, bristling electro bassline and thundering beats that never let up. The flipside track 'Milk' opens with deeper more introspective sounds, arpeggios and a definite Holden/Nathan Fake style to it that is a great contrast to the pulsing a-side.(SYST034)ELECTRO HOUSE- 5/14/07-GE

ROLLING BROOKLYN (WAGON REPAIR) 12 - 103976
Luca Bacchetti has a debut outing on Wagon Repair. Nice to see the label in full swing again. This is the 3rd release in 4 weeks from the label and this one might be the best out of the 3! ESCORT *THE RAPTURE*
ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT (ESCORT) ES - 103470
This new Escort is an amazing balance of 80's disco funk and techy electro for 2007. Already seeing DJ support from Ewan Pearson to Trevor Jackson to Metro Area. With a remix from The Rapture gracing the full length b-side this one is the sure shot. The original come off like the bastard chile of Prince and Teena Marie conceived at a swinger's party hosted by Rick James. The Rapture deliver an epic minimal electro mix that starts off way in the depths and ends up being remniscent of "Plastic Dreams" with hypnotic piano chords. Both sides of this 12" are so different yet so slammin'.(ESCRT004)HOUSE- 5/10/07-US

MIGUEL MIGS
THOSE THINGS W/LISA SHAW (SALTED) 12 - 103326
Featured track from Miguel's latest full length with Lisa Shaw on vocals. The original has an electronic edge combining old school funk elements with new school synth textures and melodies all backed up by some tough and dirty bumpin' house beats. Second mix on the A-side is by Simon Grey, he flips the script and takes us on a ride into old school disco inspired territory with an impressive musical styling that showcases his unique and complex arrangements and change ups. Flip for Miguel's "Migs Salted Dub Deluxe" mix with ample amounts of dance floor pressure and funk appeal. Staying close to the same vibe and flavor of the original while using minimal vocal elements leaving the main focus on the dirty groove. To close we have a take by Scott Wozniak deliviering a straight up NYC style deep house affair. A bouncing bass line bumps on top of some crisp and tight Wozniak beats while a bubbly organ key progression sets the tone and sits nicely underneath the vocal all together maintaining a steady groove andkeeping the energy moving.(SLT011)HOUSE- 5/08/07-US

Soulful, smooth and deep house, with classic keys, guitar, strings and backup vocal harmonies. Beautiful long instrumentalsections that really go deep, think Solu Music. Also included on the Sole Channel mixed A-side is a full lush instrumtnatal.Flip for the Terry Hunter mixes. Energized and more uptempo with a large chunky bass taking the lead, with the vocala bit more upfront, a skipping beat and various added keys and synths for a more commercial feel. An instrumental version is also included on Terry's mix to close out the B-side.(HSR003)HOUSE- 5/11/07-US
LOUIS BENEDETTI
TRIGGERED (SOULSHINE) 12 - 101780
Something a bit different from the Soulshine camp this time out. A venture in to the dub house realm with this deep but driving track that oh so gradually builds to a stunning finish. Should find favor with the fans of the obscure extremely underground Ibadan label or Wavetech, Deepspace, etc.(SSC004)HOUSE- 5/07/07-US
ANDREW ALLSGOOD
DISCO PIGS W/BRENNAN GREEN (TRUFFLE) 12 - 103558
First up is the original, punchy yet subtly aggressive focusing on a deep driven bassline and many spacey synth effects and vocal dubs. The rhythm introduces a hard hitting drum pattern that keeps the track in floor filling mode. Flip for Brennan Green's mix where he lays down his signature deep disco sound tweaking and building and taking the track to new heights. He injects new keyboard sections and a notable synthhook moving the listener into a hypnotic, rhythmic and percussive breakdown that makes full use of the quicker portions of the original. Last up is Steve Yanko's mix, he strips down and reworks the entire song, keeping certain elements from the original while injecting many new melodies and a new rhythm. The arrangement moves and builds while maintaining a 4/4 sensibility and dancefloor arrangement that emphasizes the jazz inflections while maintaining a fairly punchy theme.
