SWIRL PEOPLE

SWIRL IT UP SAMPLER PT 1 (AROMA) 12  - 101265

First of two tasty samplers by the notoriously funky Belgian house boys, the Swirl People. The opening track tells all, a pumping party jam entitled "The Greatest Time" which takes the Swirl sound to an all new high. It features a slick vocal hook, funked up bassline with a slick synth playing a similar riff, great shuffling beats and funky bits of percussion and guitars. "Ride The Pony" is up next and has a slightly deeper edge and again takes the Swirl sound up a level with deep stabs, off the wall sound effects including some whining horses. The bassline on this sucker is as funky as they come and the beats are quite bumping. Flip over for the jazzy bass heavy "Hot 'N' Stuffy" which is another hit for the floor with those trippy disco effects. "Luscious" is what Swirl deep house will be all about in 2007. SWIRL PEOPLE

SWIRL IT UP SAMPLER PT 2 (AROMA) 12  - 101266

Part 2 of the "Swirl It Up" album sampler features three more fantastic bumping house gems from the funky Belgian house boys. The title track for the album is first up and what a tune it is! Pure party house that sounds like a mixture of patent Swirl People gear and some Inland Knights action thrown in as well. "To The Restaurant" is next up and features a menacing bassline, freaked out pads, shuffling beats and a lesson in Spanish riding over the party grooves. "Like To Boogie" finishes off the sampler in fine style with more party boogie basslines, deep chord stabs and beefy beats.(AROMA052)HOUSE- 4/02/07-BE

We've come to expect the unexpected from the labeL called Nu Faze and this e.p. promises to keep the tradition of good house music intact with this 6th installment of the 'Late Night House Sessions' series, called 'The Tech Files' from producer DJ Romain. The 1st track is called 'Pumpin The Phunk', a deep & dark track with a serious bassline and deep stabs in the vibe of Jaydee 'Plastic Dreams' with a deep voiceover telling you to always 'pump the phunk'. The 2nd track is called 'Red Hot' a funky pumpin houser with nice Rhodes chords , tech stabs and bass played by Brooklyn's Mike Gudal. The 3rd piece 'Ro Tech' is perfect for the early a.m. crowd with its ethereal sounds and deep bassline.(NFZ017)HOUSE- 3/28/07-US

TRENTEMOLLER

EP 1 (KICKIN) 12  - 102900

Trentemoller continues to turn out hit after hit and here unleashes another one, well two. The A side's "An Evening With Babi Bros" sees the deeper more soulful side of Trentemoller and sees him teaming up with Scandinavian giant Dj Tom. It features warm chords, haunting melodies, pushing beats and a healthy dose of St Germain styled funk and soul. Played by Lindstrom, Tiga, and Ashley Beedle to name a few. On the flip Trentemoller gets super deep on "25 Timer" which sounds like a mixture of Isolee's "Beau Mot Plage" and Aril Brikha styled deep techy material. Deep and soulful and fucking amazing(KICK154)HOUSE- 3/29/07-UK

DIBIZA 2007 *CHUS & CEBALLOS* (STEREO PRODUCTIONS) 12  - 102855

Stereo Productions "Bring The Drums Back" again with four fresh new mixes of this MASSIVE Danny Tenaglia bomb. First up are Chus & Ceballos who get deep dirty and acidic on their mix with a tripped out ripping arpeggiated synth hook and incredibly deep and twisted breakdowns. Proper dancefloor killer! Next up are the new wondertwins Peter Gelderblom and Rene Amesz who turn in an energetic and quite dark and funky mix working the main vocal hook nicely, over heavily effected rhythms, pushing beats and locked on grooves. Dj Simi & Masterkeys provide dark minimal retro burner that sounds like a lot of the hot shit coming out of Italy on the Revox & Stereoseven imprint. Last but not least is a Jaimy tribal bomb remix, very Beat Freak styled.(SP042)HOUSE- 3/29/07-SP

MOCK & TOOF

BLACK JUB (TINY STICKS) 12  - 102835

LIMITED TO 500 COPIES! DO NOT SLEEP ON THAT ! Mock & Toof have been making a bit of noise recently with their remixes for DFA, The Scissor Sisters, Gomma, Hot Chip etc. "Black Jub" is their debut release. (well first legitimate release) and is a funky clav ridden nu disco romp with stressed out keys and mad dubby effects. Already finding favour with the likes of Prins Thomas, Lindstrom, James Murphy, Munk, Toby Tobias and Brenna Green. "Tomcat" on the flip acts as all good B sides should, something a bit out of the ordinary.(STICK011)HOUSE- 4/02/07-FR

PERU BOBBY

THE TRUTH (20 20 VISION) 12  - 102991

When Paul Woolford goes into his Bobby Peru mode then you know shit's about to go DOWN. 'The Truth' is a slab of bass-heavy mutant disco that hits the dancefloor below the knees on the strength of a monsterous bassline, full-on retro 80's synths and robo-disco percussion thats all about dropping your head and just going for it. Once again Mr Peru delivers the goods!(VIS146)ELECTRO DISCO- 4/02/07-UK

Former Music For Freaks label bod Jonny Rock drops a nasty slice of funky house pressure here combining organic sampling, rising whistle synth tones and chubby beats to create one unmissable rump-shaker of a track which features a drop like you wouldnt believe. The remix comes from Mr Freak himself, Luke Solmon, turning in an acid meets Italo rework that will have the Lindstrom/Glimmers folks doing double-takes.(DISC004)HOUSE- 4/02/07-UK

RICHARD GREY & ERICK MORILLO

LIFE GOES ON *R GREY* (SUBLIMINAL) 12  - 102784

Richard Grey goes solo on both mixes on this second twelve inch for "Life Goes On". His A side mix is a epic and darker version that takes the infectious synth hooks down to the gutter and rinses them out with gritty electro power. Richard also injects the track with a huge building moment that explodes with over the top energy. On the flip gets a bit trancey with big synth hits and caverous effects before dropping the beats like a nuclear bomb!(SUB181A)HOUSE- 4/02/07-UK

Demarkus Lewis stunned us on this one, super deep dubby acid house bomb, "Outta The Box" features mad analog gurgling 303 bass action with driving retro 909 beats, a cool male vocal sample and high strings. SIMBAD FT ABDUL SHYLLON

SUPERSONIC REVELATION *KARIZMA (RAW FUSION) 12  - 102838

Wow! The original mix of "Supersonic Revelation" has an awesome Amp Fiddler vibe with laid back soulful beats and a delicious vocal from Abdul Shyllon. The newest Battle in the Dialect Battle series features Thugfucker (aka Holmar Filipsson & Greg Oreck) taking on Gwen Maze.  First up is Thugfucker's "100" which has a deep electronic burner that builds with balearic electro disco power. Definitely one for the Lindstrom fans. Gwen Maze's remix of this jacks this one up for prime time dancefloor action with pumping new drums and a more electro house edge to the original italo flavored synths. Very cool and getting support from MANDY and Ralph Lawson. On the flip it's Gwen's turn dropping "Soul Place" a chunky house cut on the deep and techy tip with dirty beats & bass and a boompity kind of vibe. BLACK GHOSTS

ANYWAY YOU CHOOSE TO GIVE IT (SOUTHERN FRIED) 12  - 102882

Second essential single from the Black Ghosts, probably one of the biggest buzzed bands to emerge as of late. Along with the rocking LCD flavored original, Playgroup, Boy 8 Bit and Fake blood turn in some massive remixes. Playgroup is our personal fave, turning the track into a retro rave meets modern dance classic using old school breaks and replaying 808 State's classic riff from "Cubik" and lacing the vocals over it. FUCKING WICKED!(ECB117)HOUSE- 4/02/07-UK

TONY SENGHORE

WAY OUT (PICKADOLL) 12  - 102984

Tony Senghore is definitely a producer with a similiar production outlook as Pickadoll's owner John Dahlback, namely the more driving and freaked out, the better!! Tony's Pickadoll debut is all about that wonky dancefloor drive, with 'Way Out' sporting a NASTY lead bass sound that gets incredibly twisted as this track goes along. 'Way Off' adds some spaced-out analogue synth riffs, glides and slides to the party.(PICK021)ELECTRO HOUSE- 4/02/07-GE

SHYZA MINELLI

SET THE LIMIT (TUNING SPORK) 12  - 102987

SUBSKY

SENZA FINE (URBAN TORQUE) 12  - 102997

Three tracks presented on the 'Senza Fine EP' from longtime prog/house producer Subsky. SKATEBARD

VUELO (RADIUS) 12  - 102801

Radius follow up their biggie from Xenon & Idjut Boys with a brilliant four tracker from Skatebard. "Vuelo" is the perfect blend between italo's robotic Moroder drive and deep emotional disco sounds. "Celluloid Mirage" slows down the pace in the most sexiest of ways with silk-smooth beats and sweet funky sounds. Disco for the sheets! On the flipside, Skatebard "June Nights" brings us back on the dancefloor, clapping our hands and swaying our bodies to the groove, very Glimmers styled. "Holidays on Ice in Space" is again a robot friendly cut with spaced out grooves and funkyk atmospheres. The Idjuts loved this, so did Tiga, Lindstrom, The Hacker and Radio Slave to name a few. The original is accompanied with two remixes from the SLAPPED EYEBALLERS and DIMLITE who transform the song into a slightly acophonic HighTech-Dub with heavy bass. TOM ELLIS & LEIF

REFRESH RESIST EP (FRANKIE) 12  - 102691

After a few hot releases on Moon Harbour, Floppy Funk and Logistic, Tom Ellis & Leif drop a slick four tracker for the well respected Frankie label. As with all Frankie releases we get both quality and quantity as this sucker has four cuts all of which are rocking. The tracks all have a dry phunked up crunchy house feel with off kilter sounds, weird vocals, jazzy rhythms, huge basslines and impressive drum programming.(FRANKIER19)HOUSE- 3/26/07-GE

GUMMIHZ

BAR LOCA (MOBILEE) 12  - 102694

More sublime deep techno & house from Gummihz who provides four tracks here for his third outing on Mobilee. "Temptation" the first cut on the A has been played out already by Troy Pierce and Mathew Jonson and sounds a lot like their deep techy output. "Casa" is next up and has a wicked retro Chi-town house meets Detroit techno sound, deep, dark and quite minimal. Two more fabulous cuts grace the flip "Los Los" an energetic nod to old school Detroit and "Twisted", a supremely sublime and funky moody piece.(MOBILEE022)HOUSE- 3/26/07-GE

MEAT VS EINZELKIND

MEAT IS MURDER (GET PHYSICAL) 12  - 102728

Frankfurt based Meat & Einzelkind bring a top notch EP for the Get Physical label. The lead cut is a deep and synthy cut with all the trippy elements that make it a funky little ditty. Almost like Metro Area doing things a bit more techno oriented. The 2nd cut is more freaked out with digital congas and really nice FX work. More housey than anything else, really. Theyve also included a little Bonus Beat thing which is a minimal acidic drum track thats along the lines of the Eric Martin classic "Fire Alarm".(GPM066)ELECTRO HOUSE- 3/26/07-GE

LIQUID PEOPLE PR DANISM

LOVE IS ON ITS WAY (SLIP N SLIDE) 12  - 101988

Superb new single from Liquid People here on Slip n Slide- the two Dan's Smith & Gresham get the Danism thing rolling full tilt. Fans of Dennis Ferrer, Kiko Navarro and Martin Solveig will cream their jeans as DJ Gregory-esque beats form the ideal backing for Heidi Vogel's amazing vocals on the Main Mix. Flip it for a percussion-frenzied Dub Mix that turns the original's best elements into a seething club anthem. NOT NEW: BACK IN STOCK.(SLIP221)HOUSE- 2/26/07-UK

ERICK MORILLO

DANCIN (STRICTLY RHYTHM) 12  - 102830

ItÆs hard to imagine Morillo and Louie Vega combining on a record at any point from the mid 1990s given their divergence of direction. But back in 1994 they turned out this superb version of a cut from Morillo's "More EP", which featured vocals from Barbara Tucker and Zhana Saunders. Vocals notwithstandin the cut of choice for DJs became the A sided "AæLittle " (More Dub).(SR12233R)HOUSE- 3/26/07-UK
