TROYDON

JUMP START *STYLE OF EYE* (PHONOSHUFFLE) 12   - 102104

Troydon jump starts his Phonoshuffle imprint with an action packed package of party starting funky house gems. The title cut "Jump Start" has a wicked Inland Knights kind of vibe with funked up disco bass, clever vocal clips effected very nicely, jacking beats and tripped out effects. This tune is a big one for Dj Heather right now and gets a fantastic remix from Style Of Eye who take it even deeper into funky Drop Music territory. Their mix has been a favorite of Farina and the Knights themselves. On the backside "Jam On" reminds us of early Solid Groove material on the Slip N Slide imprint, funked up disco shit. Rounding off this killer debut release is "I Get So", a deep jacking Jesse Rose styled number...(PSHUF101)HOUSE- 3/12/07-BE

TOKA PROJECT

IVE GOT THESE BEATS (ROBSOUL) 12   - 102242

Drop Music / Mobile Trax and Amenti Music regulars Toka Project drop this next biggie on the red hot Robsoul imprint. The A side's "Gotta Go" is pure bumping funk with wicked shuffling beats, choppy bits of vocal snippets and a wicked vibe that sounds one part Derrick Carter and one part Inland Knights. On the flip "People" is another nasty slab of bumpity house that would easily sit on Tango, Bambino or Drop. Rounding off the ep is the title cut, a track that borrows the bassline from Peter Brown's disco classic "Keep On Dancing" and rocks it out deep and funky.(ROBSOUL53)HOUSE- 3/08/07-FR

B TEAM

ITS YOUR NIGHT GIRL (MOBILE TRAX) 12   - 101545

SYNTAX EXCLUSIVE! Mobile Trax finally find a new home with our friends in France and this biggie from B Team (also known as All Good Funk Alliance on Aroma). B Team deliver three tracks that ooze the quality funky house sound of Mobile Trax and the Littlemen. Already a firm favorite of the Inland Knights, Troydon and Jake Childs. BACK IN FULL!(MOBILE014)HOUSE- 2/08/07-FR

JAY WEST

HEAR TO STAY (DROP MUSIC) 12   - 102069

A delicious trio of tunes is the best way to describe the newest from Pablo Sabetta, a.k.a. Jay West. 'Headz On Fire' is bright, bouncy and cheeky as a voice awaringly proclaims, 'There's a lot of funky s*** going on.' "The Problem" sets the tone with moody keys that play off a sliding bass and has been killing it for the Inland Knights for some time now. Rounding off this winner is "Hold Ya" a funky and unfussy production.(DRM051)HOUSE- 3/05/07-UK

KERRI CHANDLER

COMPUTER GAMES (DEEPLY ROOTED HOUSE) 12   - 102318

Kerri Chandler has been turning out hit after hit and here delivers another one for Deeply Rooted House. The "The Invaders" is pure soulful electronic genius, futuristic with edgy Detroit-ist laser synth riffs, great effects and super deep and funky drums/bass. Next up Kerri keeps the electronic soul flowing on "Moon Bounce" which is one part Paperclip People, one part Dennis Ferrer and 100 percent deep and funky. On the flip you'll find two more brilliant swinging soulful numbers more on the straight up NY deep house tip.(DRH013)HOUSE- 3/12/07-FR

BRETT JOHNSON

LIFE IN THE EMERALD*MOTORCITY* (FREERANGE) 12   - 102477

Brett makes his Freerange debut something to remember with the release of these two wonky disco nuggets. The a-side cut 'Cuckoo' more than lives up to its name thanks to a pack of weirded out sounds, samples and ass-shaking beats that are the epitome of 'bumpin'. 'WeR1' features some tidy acid grooves packed into an incredible big room package while on the remix front its Motorcitysoul taking 'Cuckoo' into a whole new direction with some call-and-response shenanigans going on over melting kicks and gritty snare action.(FR085)HOUSE- 3/12/07-UK

TRENTEMOLLER

MOAN *RADIO SLAVE* (POKER FLAT WHITE) 12   - 101684

The second single lifted from his stunning debut album "The Last Resort" sees Mr Trentemoller himself provide a brilliant dub of "Moan" on the A. His mix fuses deep Rhythm & Sound dub house aesetics with pushing trippy electronics and a beautifully moody late night vibe. HOT. As if this weren't enough to entice you to buy one, Radio Slave provides an equally dazzling rub on the flip that goes deep into subterranean waters and sounds so god damn large on big rigs it's hard to put into words. The mood on this mix is dark and brooding as is Trente's and there are some extra nice additions of melody that take this track even further.(PFRWHITE01)HOUSE- 3/12/07-GE

TRENTEMOLLER

MOAN *VOCAL/RADIO SLAVE* (POKER FLAT) 12   - 102347

First of two sets of mixes for "Moan" lifted from Trentemoller's incredible debut album "The Last Resort". This 12" features vocal version's of Trentemoller's remix of "Moan" along with Matt "Radio Slave" "Rekids" Edwards vocal remix.(PFR81)HOUSE- 3/12/07-GE

FAZE ACTION

IN THE TREES *CARL CRAIG* (JUNO) 12   - 101689

EXPECTED MONDAY! Faze Action's "In The Trees" was one of the catalysts that rocketed the Nuphonic imprint into the spotlight. It sounds as incredible today as it did 11 years ago when it was first released. It has been unavailable for quite some time and is the first release on Juno's new imprint. As a special bonus this release comes with a wicked remix from CARL CRAIG who lends his midas touch to the tune giving it a deep, dark and edgy driving feel before nicely teasing in the beautiful melodies of the original.(JUNO1)HOUSE- 2/12/07-UK

SAWTOOTH SUCKA

PHAT CHANCE EP 2 (DOTBLEEP) 12   - 102485

Lee Mortimer aka Sawtooth Sucka pops back into the Dotbleep camp with 3 outstanding slices of jackign fidget house. 'Crazy' leads off the a-side with its twisted beats, cut-up vocal snippets and wicked Chi-town drums this is a tune to be reckoned with. 'Screwing' is a boompty-esque affair with tons of quirky noises and drips with funk, whilst the closer 'Freaky Dance Craze Music' is, err, well FREAKY!! Cheeky female vocals, crowd noises and full-on jacking beats that give the kids what they want, and more!(DBR015)HOUSE- 3/12/07-UK

JUSTUS KOHNCKE

VS PRINS THOMAS (KOMPAKT) 12   - 102368

Kompakt big-shot Justus Kohncke and space disco master Prins Thomas team up for a delightful big of disco influenced house. The A side is straight up old school sounding disco, while the flip gets more arpeggiated bassline driven. Think of the 2 producers involved and its exactly what you think. Really great stuff to say the least!(KOM153)MINIMAL HOUSE- 3/12/07-GE

MIGUEL MIGS

MESMERIZED *SOLE CHANNEL* (NRK) 12   - 101674

Taken from his highly anticipated third album, "Those Things", this single follows up from the rather ace Shur-i-Kan mixes with new SOLE Channel remixes, courtesy of Alix Alvarez, one of the hottest producers out of New York right now. Oozing class from every pore, these remixes take the original L.T. vocal and works into a classic house production, similar to those legendary David Morales Def Mix mixes from yesteryear. The Extended Vocal is a well polished vocal interpretation while the Dub Mix offers up gorgeous strings, hypnotic keys, delayed vocals and deep melodic bass.  The added Dubstramental Mix strips things down further showcasing the quality production from Alvarez.(NRK129R)HOUSE- 3/12/07-UK

DAZE OF SUMMER

24TH STREET SOUNDZ MIX (WHITE) 12   - 81972

A certain San Francisco deep house producer tackles two remixes of a certain Canadian producer's shuffling summer samba classic. OK, Miguel Migs reworks Nick Holder's "Summer Daze" here, the first in his wicked dub house sound, the second a more MAW styled rub. REPRESSSSSS!(DAZE01)HOUSE- 3/18/05-UK

LANCE DESARDI FT LANDSHARK

MY HEAD SPINS (DEEP FREEZE) 12   - 102472

Lance De Sardi aka The Landshark is in top form here with his debut release for Deep Freeze. 'Head Spins' continues to see the Shark pushing the boundaries of the electro-disco sound, a hypnotically addictive cut working haunting synth chords, warped keyboard sounds and chugging old-school rhythms. On the flip 'Lose Control' works a dark disco vibe and gravely vocals. This cut's already been snapped up by Satoshi Tomiie for an upcoming Renaissance CD comp.(DF026)ELECTRO DISCO- 3/12/07-UK

FIGURINES

SILVER PONDS *BEN WATT* (STRANGE) 12   - 101980

First offering from Ben Watt's brand-new Strange label features Denmark's Figurines getting the remix treatment from Mr Watt himself. Ben reworks 'Silver Ponds' taking the original;s blend of Strokes/Pavement influences and turning out a pair of tripped-out balearic rides incorporating bits of modern techno disco and 70's German feel. Wicked.(001FEEL12)HOUSE- 3/12/07-UK

LOVEBIRDS

MODERN STALKING (WINDING ROAD) 12   - 102337

The "Modern Stalking EP" is a delicious trip through warehouse, funk and 80's boogie and a perfect example of the beautiful and timeless well crafted quality exuded on each and every Winding Road release. Sweet sounds for your mind and for your behind. The EP starts with the super heavy disco beats and filtered live bass of "Can't Get Along" (which was co-written by Vincenzo) nd then goes through the acid-boogie work out of title track "Modern Stalking", the intense conga-driven musical drama of "Behind You", and finally the digital Beatle-esqu diddy of "I Don’t Know Why"..(ROAD018)HOUSE- 3/12/08-GE

DJ T

LUCKY BASTARD *PROSUMER* (GET PHYSICAL) 12   - 102400

T is back on Get Physical with a brand new single, his first for the label in awhile so the anticipation has been building. 'Lucky Bastard' is a jackin' electro workout using resonant synth leads tweaked over a liquid sub-bass line and crisp bumpin' drums. Prosumer's remix stays close to the theme set by the original, replacing the main riff with syncopated key riffs and intricate micro percussion. Nice powerful buildup to this track as the main chords expand midway thru with even more drumming added to the mix.(GPM065)ELECTRO HOUSE- 3/12/07-GE

RIPPERTON

A SKILIFT UPSTAIRS (SYSTEMATIC) 12   - 102407

The man behind the Connaisseur label and past releases for Border Community and Wagon Repair now hits Systematic for the very first time with this exceptional release. 'A Skilift Upstairs' is a flat-out emotional record very much in the vein of Nathan Fake, James Holden etc with gentle, sad melodic synths, crisp micro-beats and tight rolling bass riffs. The Vertigo Dub on the b-side adds a deeper bass feel and some Detroit-influenced pads, strings and analogue textures.(SYST032)MINIMAL HOUSE- 3/12/07-GE

HIEM

CLUBSCENE POPSCENE (ESKIMO) 12   - 102380

Hiem's first release since his massive "Zombie Party" on Crosstown Rebels is a deliciously deep vocal anthem infused with epic italo/electro disco synths, pads and gurgling bass. The vocal starts off unvocoded then slowly gets more electronic as the track progresses. Super cool gear. On the flip is a more poppy mix from Justus Kohncke sounding like 80's new wave material. Big package getting support from Prins Thomas, Rob Mello, Tim Sweeny and Mugwump.(501617)ELECTRO DISCO- 3/12/07-BE

DAVID K

MAYANN (COCOON) 12   - 102399

Freak n Chic's David K returns to Cocoon with an absolute stunner of a track!! 'Tender & Sugar' is a dark, acidic, downright demented beast of a track with a sick bassline and tremendous drawn-out breakdown that kicks back in like a hurricane. If the sound of 'Mayann' reminds you of 'Rej' you're not alone, David's done a wicked job recreating that vibe and adding plenty of twisted flair of his own.(COR032)ELECTRO HOUSE- 3/12/07-GE

LUTZENKIRCHEN

MUSIC FOR THE *HUGGOTRON* (GREAT STUFF) 12   - 102401

Really big release comes your way from Tobias Lutzenkirchen on the Great Stuff label, a slice of retro-electro disco pressure from TL that features remix action from John Dahlback {under his Huggotron guise} as well as Deepgroove. The original version works a robotic female vocal hook over 80's synth chords and Italo-shaded basslines. Deepgroove's mix is a total reconstruction, filthy, jacking biz that will raise a few eyebrows wethinks. Huggotron's mix uses a full-on analogue arsenal to create a proper disco-electro jacker.(GSR042)ELECTRO HOUSE- 3/12/07-GE

WHERE IS CARLOS *LEGOWELT* (STRANGE LIFE) 12   - 102461

2nd limited 500-copy pressing on Strange Life this week featuring 5 dope electro-disco tracks including a sick Legowelt mix. The lovely Water Lilly is back with a killer new single following the success of her 'Sputnika' longplayer, including a massive remix from Arnaud Rebotini aka Black Strobe. 'Invisible Ink' shows that this lady can rock out as hard as anyone, a tough John Dahlback-inspired jam with haunting dark sounds and Lilly's enchanting whispered vox. STREET JUSTICE (MODULAR) 12   - 101854

'Street Justice' is the third single from their 2006 album 'The Looks' and has all the hallmarks of a MSTRKRFT track; disco beats with punk rock sensibilities. PANOPEEPS *SHIT ROBOT* (LEKTROLUV) 12   - 102381

You might recall Kaos from his work on labels like Compost, Rong or Kitsune. Here for Lektroluv Kaos gets deep and dirty on the acid tip with the bouncy number "Panopeeps". It features retro 909 drum action and a deep bumping acidic bassline that bounces around the tripped out sounds, twisted effects and meandering synth riff. Very cool shit. ALEXI DELANO

WHAT IS CONTROL (AUDIOMATIQUE) 12   - 101881

Our good friend Alexi Delano is one funky mother for sure. His tracks are as diverse as the labels they appear on from Dessous, Missile, Hybrid, Turbo, Earthtones, Svek, Plastic City and Wave to name just a few. Here for Audiomatique, Mr Delano provides a deep bumping acidic number similar in style to his "Acid Sessions" on his own AD Limited imprint with more of a Get Physical tilt. On the flip Alexi gets even deeper and darker on "Not My Enemy" a sparse mind boggling acid bomb currently getting run from James Holden and Radio Slave.(AM21)HOUSE- 3/08/07-GE

WILL SAUL & TAM COOPER

SEQUENTIAL CIRCUITS *K BLACK* (SIMPLE) 12   - 102165

Will Saul & Tam Cooper team up for an excellent deep house outing on Simple records. This is the first time the 2 have released together, and we hope it's not the last, as this one is well deserving of attention. The drums are slightly techy, but the chords are pure house. Almost sounding like old Global Communication ambient stuff laid over the top of some older Josh Wink type stuff. Very much on the lighter side of house music. So, its only fitting to get the remix on the flip to be on the darker side, right? So, they enlisted Wagon Repair and M_nus big-shot Konrad Black to take it into no mans land. The 808 is on point, and the 101 is in full effect. Kinda remeniscent of his first EP for Wagon Repair, and we all remember just how sweet THAT was!(SIMPLE0722)HOUSE- 3/08/07-GE

REMO

MIZAR *AUDIOFLY* (REVOX) 12   - 102247

TACTILE RED (CYNOSURE) 12   - 102163

The second part of the "Tactile" series from Mike Shannon. "Red" features more of Mike's kicking deep minimal funk that made his reputation what it is today. The a side's "8Bit Rojo" is a hard and dirty groover, with straight jacking beats, low res sound and a slick gliding bassline that pumps up the bottom end. Mathew Jonson has been battering this bad ass tune. On the flip "Red Tide" delves deeper and slowly builds with more low rez synth action into a swinging after hours gem for the headz.(CYN021)HOUSE- 3/08/07-GE

ZIMMERMANN

#1 (HI FREAKS) 12   - 101616

The thing we've always liked about Zimmermann and his productions is that he has never been with a high profile label, which has allowed him to stick to his wicked micro/minimal house style without being pressured to 'conform' to expectations. Case in point is his newest release, for German imprint Hi Freaks, which features a pair of tracks that we reckon would cause Richie Hawtin to go bananas. We're talking ultra minimal, ultra tweaked and uber-rocking micro-techno shizzle with a nose for the dancefloor.(HIFREAKS05)MINIMAL HOUSE- 3/12/07-GE

MIA

BITTERSUSS REMIXES (SUB STATIC) 12   - 102349

Here we have a collection of remixes done for the artist MIA(the minimal techno one, not the other one). First up is Shonky remixing Swoon. Listening to the tones, its 100% pure Shonky. Bleepy and bloopy with deep FX washes, stiff and clicky percussion and some nice vocal samples to round it all off. One of the cooler things Shonky has done to date! Next up is Drama Society also remixing Swoon. They go the more Tiefschwarz route without reaching too hard and going over the top. Very tastefully done! Finally, we have Falko Brocksieper remixing Cant Find You. this one is a deep one too. Really great on the percussion, and very trippy on the FX for the vocal samples. Ol Falko rarely disappoints and this one is one of his finest mixes to date.(SUS63)HOUSE- 3/12/07-GE

CIREZ D

THEME *J DAHLBACK/S LEGER* (MOUSEVILLE) 12   - 93902

BACK IN STOCK!!!!! Cirez D aka Eric Prydz with the mighty 'Mouseville Theme' on the A and two mixes of 'Knockout' on the flip courtesy of John Dahlback and Sebastian Leger!! "Mous eville Theme' kicks off like a rocket with floor-shaking kicks, big dirty bass stabs and some crazy off-kilter riffs and edits. Eric really outdoes himself on this one as he brings in truckloads of warped bass and twisted synth action. John Dahlback remixes Mouse002 'Knockout' and turns it into a freaked-out electro tech banger. LFO-mangled sounds and a SICK bassline drop bring the energy level to a ridiculous level. We think this is one of John's finest productions, PERIOD. Sebastian Leger gives you a chunkier tech workout with some tasty acid licks snuck in here and there. Like the other cuts there is plenty of energy to spare but Leger brings it all within a tight, tech house framework that will easily cross over to the prog and techno jocks.(MOUSE005)ELECTRO HOUSE- 5/17/06-GE

MARKO MILITANO

TURNING LEAVES (DIRTY TRICK) 12   - 101260

Quality track from prolific artist with releases on Bananza, Dot Bleep, Uniform, Inuendo and more. He is also one half of the production duo Trademarq. The track effortlessly incorporates jacking drums with rhythmically manipulated vocal snippets, old school NY piano phrasing and a teched out bouncing bassline that continually builds the tension for pure    dancefloor enjoyment. On the incredible remixes is the mysterious NY producer The Good Guy who turns in two separate burners. The real deal here is the "The Good Guy's Angry at the World Mix". A dirty warehouse feel with grit to the track reminiscent of Prescription and Peacefrog releases. Dubsided low end grime. The "The Good Guy on Dubs" mix immerses the   listener in a lush world of dubbed out floating synth stabs and lethargic piano meanderings as the bassline dives into late night territory. Getting play from Heather, Fred Everything, Justin long, Diz, The Sound Republic, John Larner, Miss Honey Dijon and Slum Science.(DTR002)HOUSE- 3/07/07-US

MIGUEL MIGS

SO FAR W/RASMUS FABER (SALTED) 12   - 102130

Rasmus starts things off with a lively cowbell infused Latin flavored percussive vocal version. A builder that grows with layered acoustic guitars gliding over  thundering beats that peak out with a chunky live bassline kicking in. Rasmus's dub utilizes the same elements but  ai  med straight for the dancefloor with it's peaktime energy and building breakdowns. On the B-side Eric Stamile provides his "Old School Revival Dub" taking us back to the 80s with it's bright saw synth chord progression and a dirty electronic synth bassline to spice things up a bit. Last but not least is the laid back classic soul sound of the original.(SLT010)HOUSE- 3/06/07-US
