PALM SKIN PRODUCTIONS
FALL AWAY *J FIASCO* (FREERANGE) 12 - 101979
Palm Skin returns for his 3rd Freerange EP entitled 'Fall Away' that features a killer reworking by Johnny Fiasco!! The original is chock full of string drenched, deep electronic house vibes with a splash of mutant funk thrown in for good measure. Mr Fiasco then turns it onto its head with a wicked stripped back, Chi-twon groove that bumps and grinds like an old-school maniac.(FR084)HOUSE- 2/26/07-UK
TOE JAM FT RACHEL MODEST
YOU CANT HURT ME (ROBSOUL) 12 - 101895
Toe Jam aka Paul Woolford, Toby Wiltshire, Ben Barker, Dan Goldman return to Robsoul with a rocking vocal house number featuring a brilliant vocal performance from Rachel Modest which rides perfectly over Toe Jam's deep yet pumping production. This sounds like a perfectly executed Paper Music track with touches of 80's synths, slick percussion and a deep disco kiss. Distance's Dj Rork (aka Soldiers Of Twilight) provides a remix on the flip, a supremely soulful mix with plenty of skanking dub house attitude.(ROBSOUL52)HOUSE- 2/22/07-FR
OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN V UNKNOWN
GET PHYSICAL (HT FUNK) 12 - 101365
More funky house naughtiness from the HT Funk crew- this time its Olivia Newton-John's 'Let's Get Physical' getting put thru its paces.(HTFUNK011)FUNKY HOUSE- 2/26/07-UK
MAGIK JOHNSON
I GIVE UP *J DAHLBACK* (UNDERWATER) 12 - 101983
More insane goodness from Darren Emerson's Underwater label. This time out its New Zealander Magik Johnson unleashing this quirky electro house meets tech jammy, big room ready with funk dripping from every pore. Remixer John Dahlback then takes control, delivering an amazing techy workout with some killer throwback sounds.(H20077)ELECTRO HOUSE- 2/26/07-UK
CAMILLE
TA DOULEUR *HENRIK SCHWARZ* (CAMILLE) 12 - 102013
First Henrik Schwarz worked his magic on Norweigian songstress Mari Boine's "Vuoi Vuoi Me", now he delivers an outstanding reworking of French chanteuse Camille's sorrowful ode to a fading relationship "Ta Douleur". Scwharz's deep house leanings, intricate keys and organic bassline are expertly juxtaposed against the enchanting Bjork-esque vocals of Camille. On the flip Al Usher ups the tempo and cuts up the vocal to offer up a quirky leftfield houser. LIMITED AS FUCK!(CAMILLE01)HOUSE- 2/26/07-FR
MIDNIGHT OPERATOR
MIDNIGHT OPERATOR (WAGON REPAIR) 12 - 102043
From the minds of 2 of the sickest producers of techno today comes a collaboration called MIDNIGHT OPERATOR. Who is collaborating, you might ask? Oh, 2 brothers from Vancouver by the names of Nathan (HRDVSION) & Mathew Jonson. An iteresting collaboration musicly, coming up with a musical concept that resembles dubstep, but is paced at techno/house tempo. Very breakbeat oriented, the basslines on this one dont seem to quit. Many swirling around in different keys laced heavily with different FX. Truly one of the sicker things Mathew has been part of. So, if the HRDVSION stuff was a bit too crazy for you, then this should be right up your alley! On the flip, the duo shoot for an interesting take on one of Mathews classic "Return of the Zombie Bikers". So, take the above description and apply the original to it, and voila! Wagon Repair never disappoints so be sure to order soon, as Im sure the nice full color sleeve versions of this one will sell out with a quickness, as per usual.(WAG021)HOUSE- 2/26/07-GE
THORN TRACEY
ITS ALL TRUE *BUTTRICH/ESCORT* (VIRGIN) 12 - 101232
Tracey Thorn's new single is a collaboration with Ewan Pearson and co-written with Sasse and Darshan Jesrani (from Metro Area) and is pure early 80's New York dance brilliance. This remix package includes a DSE (Ewan Pearson, Darshan and Sasse) Dub, Kris Menace Remix, Martin Buttrich Dub and an extended reworking from our very own Escort crew who drop a wicked disco-ey live mix.(VST1932)HOUSE- 2/26/07-UK
PONZIO JIMMY
I GOT SOMETHING FOR YOU (SUBLIMINAL) 12 - 101737
Erick Morillo sure can spot a big room banger and Jimmy Ponzio's "I Got Something For You" is certainly one. It has deep sexy vocals backed by edgy electro flavored synths and driving beats. Alex Alicia aka Who Da Funk provides a tougher mix on the flip.(SUB180)HOUSE- 2/26/07-UK
VINYL
THE WEASEL (CROSSTOWN REBELS) 12 - 101787
New one tracker here from the CROSSTOWN REBELS sub label, Rebel One. This one entitled The Weasel. They are still being elusive with who produced it. This one is quite the percussive monster, with all the added squelchy rhythms you could hope for. Got a very old school Detroit (more specificly, Derrick May) vibe going on with the synths and basslines, while the drums are pure Chicago. Lots of cool snare things going on the one would think would provide only pure intensity and insanity on the dancefloor. As per usual, this is a limited release so get em now while the gettin is good!(REBELONE08)MINIMAL HOUSE- 2/26/07-UK
CLAUDE VONSTROKE
WHISTLER*J ROSE/DJ ASSAULT* (DIRTYBIRD) 12 - 101961
Oh my freakin' goodness!!! Unless you've been holed up in a commune in Idaho or something for the past year then you know that Claude Vonstroke is hotter than Hades at the moment- case in point this amazing remix edition of 'The Whistler'. Something for everyone here and its all FILTHY!! Fidget house hero Jesse Rose uses his own synth whistles and some jackin' beats to ignite some serious mayhem, whilst ghetto tech legend DJ Assault adds some killer vocals and fast, pumping electro beats into the equation- sickness!! Diplo's remix will open some eyes {and ears} with its raw, techy sound that does wonders for the original mix while Claude and Luca Agnelli get to work on a slithering tech-phunk version.(DB009)TECH HOUSE- 2/20/07-GE
RADIOCLIT
MATURE MACHO *SOLID GROOVE/SIN (COUNTERFEET) 12 - 99813
Switch's Dave Taylor presents the brand new sublabel to his immense Dubsided imprint, kicking it into the stratosphere with this Eurocrunk anthem featuring French rap group TTC, Brasil's finest Donde De Role plus a scorching, we mean SCORCHING remix from Solid Groove and Sinden that is about to rewrite all the rules- bad ass shit!!(COUNT002)TECH HOUSE-12/11/06-UK
MARK HENNING
POKERBOT (TRAPEZ LTD) 12 - 102052
Mark Henning delievers a VERY solid 12" for Trapez LTD. 2 tracks here in typical Mark Henning fashion. Pumpin, but not bangin, quality minimal techno that will light up the dancefloors from here to Berlin, then to South America, and back again. Mark Henning proves to us yet again why he is the man!(TRAPLTD052)MINIMAL HOUSE- 2/26/07-GE
MAETRIK
FUTURE WILL *BREITBARTH* (TREIBSTOFF) 12 - 102053
Maetrik has been on fire lately! This 12" would be right up there with the best of them for him. Future Will Survive is a groovy minimal jam with some deepness to it, with some really random sick ass basslines thrown in, resembling some MISC stuff. Also a vocoded voice spelling things out from time to time. On the flip, Rene Breitbarth give it his special touch making it a bit more streamlined, and definitely solidifying its home on this label called Treibstoff. So, if you like the Treibstoff stuff than you wont be disappointed here.(TREIB70)MINIMAL HOUSE- 2/26/07-GE
ANDREA DORIA
YAOO *MINILOGUE/ZENKER* (GREAT STUFF) 12 - 102071
The original on the Andrea Doria 12" is a dubbed out percussive nightmare! Perfect for a Great Stuff release! With tons of dirty basslines and drums in the build up, all leading up to a bunch of video game noises and a guy yelling "YAHOO"! then blowing up into a Benassi type thing. The Ramon Zenker mix is a bit more shuffly and housey, while the Minilogue remix gets way more stripped down and minimal and scary! But it still keeps the big build up thing. Not a bad all-around package!(GSR041)ELECTRO HOUSE- 2/26/07-GE
REVEREND BLOO
EP 4 *J LONDON & LUKE SOLOMON* (WILDCARD) 12 - 89000
Volume 4 in the Wildcard series sees Jacob London teaming up with Luke Solomon under their Reverend Bloo moniker for a wild ride of old school revamps. The duo take on Devo's "Whip It" here using pretty much all of the original and laying it down into a jerky bumpity groove. Next up, the duo rework The Jam's "Pretty Green" in a grungy LCD meets Rong stylee. Last but not least they provide a full vocal and dub retooling of some funk tune we cant quite place but think is Los Amigos Invisibles. A party track extroadinaire with a vocal talking about a "Masturbation Session". REPRESSED AND BACK IN FULLQ(WILDCARD04)HOUSE-11/02/05-UK
2RAUMWOHNUNG
BESSERS GEHTS *J ROSE/O OZER* (IT WORX) 12 - 101963
Everybody's favourite German popsters prove once again that they've got an ear for choosing the right remixers at the right time. These new mixes of 'Besser Geht's Nicht' follow Martin Buttrich's initial remix {on IT21} with new licks from Jesse Rose {he of the fidget house persuasion} and Oner Ozur {Vakant Records artist and Turkish cut house freak}. Rose's mix loops the original strings plus a snippet of Inga's vocal, adding a filthy skanking bassline and his customary jackin' beats. We say 'Jah' Jesse! Ozer responds with some sharpened reduced house pressure on the flip which is right on point.(IT22)MINIMAL HOUSE- 2/20/07-GE
SCOPE
STRUNG OUT (URBAN TORQUE) 12 - 101986
Belfast-based producer Scope absolutely bosses it with his debut release for Urban Torque, with both Strung Out and Last Call getting name-checked and bashed in the clubs by the likes of Desyn Masiello, Paolo Mojo, James Talk and Anthony Pappa. Strung Out works an infectious swaying groove with strings that build up into an urgent ball of energy which comes out like a hurricane once the break drops. Last Call is more on the deeper, lush electronic house side ala Funk D'Void. Soulful yet bumpin', proper tech house gear!(URTR032)TECH HOUSE- 2/26/07-UK
KNIFE
MARBLE HOUSE *EMPEROR MACHINE* (BRILLE) 12 - 102002
Two essential mixes of The Knife's "Marble House" appear here, the Booka Shade mix which originally saw the light of day last year as a limited release on Mute and a fat new Emperor Machine mix who does his thing taking the track deep down into epic italo disco waters. Trippy as fuck...(BRILS16T)HOUSE- 2/26/07-UK
MARK BROOM
PING PONG (PLATZHIRSCH) 12 - 102051
Platzhirsch recruiting Mark Broom for a record is as weird as it is perfect! Broom being one of the more versatile procducers of techno out there, it should be no suprise that a label that trancends all boundries of techno would want him to give them a record. And what a record it is. Not too hard, but definitely with some drive to it! Think maybe if THE ADVENT were to do minimal techno, youd be pretty close. Its got somewhat of a MR G type vibe to it, with some tweaky basslines and really good hi-end. Kudos to Mr Broom for always being a producer you can rely on to bring the goods to your crate.(PH10)TECH HOUSE- 2/26/07-GE
LOTTERBOYS
CANT CONTROL THE BOOGIE *SUBS* (ESKIMO) 12 - 101035
The Lotterboys return to Eskimo with their fifth release for the label bringing more dirty underground business in the form of "Can't Control The Boogie". In its original form it features a plodding synth line and bassgroove with trippy effected sounds flying all over the mix, dirty swinging beats and an acid meets trippy disco vibe. Suicide / Lektroluv artists The Subs provide the remix on the flip a more discofied rub sounding like a mixture of Idjut Boys and darker Emperor Machine material.(501577)HOUSE- 2/26/07-BE
XENON
XENON GALAXY *IDJUT BOYS* (RADIUS) 12 - 101262
Classic italo tune worth a fortune on E-bay, now made available complete with two spanking new mixes from the Idjuts!(RAD011)ELECTRO DISCO- 2/26/07-BE
LES PETITS PILOUS
HELLO WE ARE (BOYS NOIZE) 12 - 101882
Incredible new French duo debuting on Boys Noize with four screamers on the Para One tip. Actually Les Petits Pilous decided to start producing after hearing Para One play live at a party. This is the raunchy dirty sound that is rocking the floors for Sebastian, Justice and Mr Oizo on the "nu rave" tip for sure!!!(BNR013)HOUSE- 2/26/07-GE
MARCO RESMANN
WATERCOLOUR (MOBILEE) 12 - 101887
Marco Resmann isn't quite a new face on Mobilee, more like the man behind Phage (Klang/Highgrade/Sender). Marco will uses his given name for his productions on Mobilee. The A side on this ep "Gouache" feels like a modern and deeper interpretation of G Man's classic "Quo Vadis" with dubby slightly filtering and hypnotic synths, shuffling beats and cool atmospheres. "Tempera" on the flip has more of an Aril Brikha techy vibe.(MOBILEE021)HOUSE- 2/26/07-GE
AUDIO SOUL PROJECT
ENTER THE NIGHT (DESSOUS) 12 - 101894
Mazi returns for another fine offering on Dessous. "Enter The Night" kicks off quite funky with beefy beats and a thick analog bassline before a smokey vocal sneaks in and bumping synth riffs pick up the pace. The vocals have that off kilter Detroit Grand Pubah's vibe and the track has a Trentemoller / Martini Brothers vibe. On the flip Mazi provides two more cool cuts, "Sarabbath" which has a wicked dub house vibe and "No Exit" which is a dope dub of "Enter The Night".(DES67)HOUSE- 2/26/07-GE

Kamishake gained notoriety for his incredible mix of Kelis' "Milkshake" and is set to set floors on fire this year with a slew of releases due out on Azuli, Toolroom and Wax Habit. This Azuli number is a chunky and quite dark and deep number very much on the Twisted / Superchumbo tip with a sexy little vocal part, sparse metallic percussion, dirty electro fuelled synth bits and a hypnotic druggy feel. On the flip you'll find an equally sexy dirty dub.(AZNY238)HOUSE- 2/26/07-UK

SHUT THE FAKE UP (SOME LIKE IT HOT) 12 - 101927
Shut The Fake Up has a rocking Eskimo vibe and could easily pass for the Glimmers or Headman. It has a rocky no wave edge, disco sensibility and a punky attitude that does damage on dancefloor. The bass on this fucker is burning and the mad sounds and live flavored drums should also please fans of the DFA imprint. On the flip "Human Robot" is another raw rocking bomb that has been getting play from the Glimmers who rocked it at Fabric and in their own words " the place went INSANE. DAS GLOW
WEISS GAZ (INSTITUBES) 12 - 102018
The Institubes imprint along with Ed Bangers, Because and Kitsune have been releasing some of the most forward thinking music coming out of France at the moment. Here they uncover the manic production of Das Glow who lay down three dirty bombs kicking off with "Cathedrale" a Holden-esque anthem with powerful beats, grinding synth grooves and the nastiest of basslines. The title track "Weiss Gaz" is a much deeper, moodier epic anthem currently getting props from Mr Oizo and Laurent Garnier. Last up "Vulcanice" is a favorite of Josh Wink and is a grimey five minute workout you're going to need to copies of so you can extend this funky ass number.(INS12015)ELECTRO- 2/26/07-FR

BAD PULSE *PADDED CELL* (MULE MUSIQ) 12 - 102034
Sly Mongoose is one of Japan's leading instrumental band with influences from a wide range of genres including Rock, Funk, Reggae, Dub, House and Afro funk. Their last single for Mule was quite large thanks to a Rub N Tug mix and this one will likely be the same thanks to it being a superb tune plus the addition of a Padded Cell remix. The original mix of "Bad Pulse" is a percussion heavy disco bomb sounding like Harvey, Escort and Street Corner Symphony all wrapped up in one killer package. Padded Cell take this sound even further on their mix using the live instrumentation to perfect effect and adding a wicked Lindstrom vibe.(MULE012)HOUSE- 2/26/07-GE
