CHRIS CARRIER
SAUDADE (ROBSOUL) 12 - 101139
Chris Carrier returns to his wicked acidic roots back on Phil Weeks' Robsoul imprint. The A side harks back to Chris's collaborations with Hector Moralez on tracks like "The Acid" and "We Live This" with big jacking beats with a slick shuffle, a funky little acid lick, beefy bass and cool bits of trippy sounds. BOMB! On the flip Chris once again displays his incredible drum programming prowess with beats that are breaky and oh so funky. The production is very Chi-town flavored and happens to be one of Sneaks biggest tunes right now. Rounding off the ep is a deeper production entitled "House Music" with a catchy vocal part, funky percussion riffs and more beat trickery.(ROBSOUL51)HOUSE- 1/25/07-FR
BLACK JOY
UNTITLED *K
The original version of
'Untitled' is sort of an underground house classic, originally released back in
2003 on the Project Recordings label and now resurrected and remixed for 2007
by man of the hour Kerri Chandler. Kerri's 'Bigga Mix' is dripping with soul,
with his typical fat house sound in full effect here, club-proven in the hands
of James Flavour, Ben Watt and Inland Knights. The secret squirrel original mix
rounds out the a-side of this 12" so those of you who missed out the first
time round are in luck!(FR082)HOUSE- 1/29/07-

TOBY TOBIAS
DAVES SEX BITS *
Yup, another cracker of a release from Radio Slave's Rekids imprint, in whats becoming a regular onslaught from this UK-based powerhouse. Toby Tobias is the man in the spotlight again here, dropping some Mylo-esque sounds, ridiculously filthy beats and gut-wrenching gutter bass on this teched-out monster. The elusive Quiet Village provide the remix pressure, dropping the tempo a shade while maxing out the sounds and getting nice n twisted along the way.(REKIDS011)TECH HOUSE- 1/29/07-UK

Jean F Cochois aka The Timewriter has outdone everything he's ever done before with this sparkling release of 'Room Of A Million Rainbows', featured on his 'Paintbox' album. On the flip Greek producer Mikael Delta turns in a chunkier, techier remix which comes at you from a more jacking angle while still rinsing that vocal for everything its worth. The ever consistent and world renowned Mark Knight twiddles his dirty knobs over Static Revenger's official follow up to 'Happy People'. Something different but with Mark's trademark feel. Produced by Groove Assassins with remixes by Louis Benedetti and Jovonn. New mixes on this already well established track that shouldturn a few heads. Jovonn comes with a classic underground raw sound ripe for 3am play and Louis Benedetti does a total turnaround and shocks us with a Chicago acid version.(HOME9)HOUSE- 1/23/07-US
PARADOXXX
LEGACY EP (WAVETEC) 12 - 100495
A strong 3 track progressive techno Ep from Joaquin Durrieu of Buenos Aires. An upbeat approach that is all about zooming FX, layer upon layer of synths and melody sweeps anchored by crisp, crunchy beats. Paradoxxx's quality sequencing on "Never Been to Detroit" is undeniable, with 16-beats accentedwith arpeggiator synths. There's a definite electro vibe as well, giving the track a breezy, European festival slant. "Broken Too" continues the storm in 16 in sequence with harmonius strings and choppy arpeggiate doing the dirty deed, leading up to an explosive breakbeat bridge, with fiercely punchy beats at work all the while. "The Other Side" finishes out nicely rounding off this quality Ep. A big room electro houvibe replete with warm acid pads and rattling percussion. Plodding bass is broken up by trancey music box melodies that continue the serious build up of energy. House, techno and trance DJ friendly.(WT50170)TECH HOUSE- 1/22/07-US

WELCOME HOME (BEAT FREAK) 12 - 101225
D Formation returns with a dandy of a tune here with "Welcome Home" which sees the Spanish house master delve deep into acidic waters.
